In the ‘living well is the best revenge’ tradition, Jennifer Aniston is on the cover of the only magazine her ex Brad Pitt purportedly reads or gives a merde about, with a triumphant gleam in her eyes but otherwise looking mega-casual and uncomplicated. The main point of the article seems to be that she has spent s-loads transforming what were previously His and Her bathrooms into a spa complex.

This current Chiron-Neptune conjunction (the fabulous, magic one) is bang-on her Sun so presumably she feels quite happy reading (if she bothers) articles suggesting that Brad is terribly unwell due to being hideously unhappy (that beard is a cry for help, no?) and that Angelina is getting set to turn herself into a Princess Diana character with a more “statesman-like” partner.

Jennifer’s got Libra Rising (wow would she hate Brad’s beard or what?) and a sensational Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Libra that is about to have Saturn go over it. So v.innovative new career stuff in the next two years. Plus she’s got Mars-Neptune in Scorpio…super calculating & strategic.

Night-Flowering Tuberose (Starflower) Under A Full Moon in Anya’s Garden

So I got sent these gorgeous scent samples from Anya of Anya’s Garden Perfumes.  She makes them all from her garden in Miami, Florida & they’re divine. She has the most brilliant astro-signature for a perfumier:  Sun, Venus and Neptune in Libra, all Rising.

“…One reasoning behind the concepts of StarFlower and MoonDance, and it’s a big reasoning, is that white flowers, typically those that look like stars, always bloom on the Full Moon. The gravitational and tidal pulls are the stimulus, I suppose. If you’re in a garden at night, the magic of the scent draws you in, and even if you squint your eyes, you can still see the white flowers, since they’re the only color flowers that are visible at night. under a bower of jasmine, next to the tuberose bed, it’s as if the stars fell out of the sky – and brought their fragrance to earth.

Also, tuberose’s scent is minimal during the day, becoming more intense at night, overwhelming, in fact.

Cool, yin-type scents are associated with the moon, and the mint opening note of MoonDance leads you down a cool, inward-looking path, with tender rose and chamomile. StarFlower is more fiery, and meant for nighttime wear in the winter, quite yang and sultry and carnal in the drydown. The flower that most looks like a star is the single flowered Tuberose, so that was the muse for both perfumes….”

The Aztecs called it Bone Flower and she was sacred to their Venus. Ancient Hindu peeps knew it as Night Mistress and in many cultures it is considered a powerful aphrodisiac. Tuberose keeps producing scent, even after it is picked, making it the main component of Hawaiian leis. Some say that inhaling the oil of Tuberose improves one’s capacity for emotional depth & the most common symbolism of it is “dangerous pleasures.”

He’s been apparently blissfully married for years but a new biography out claims major Seventies star Warren Beatty had over 12,000 lovers – not counting the “casual gropes”etc. He essentially averaged a woman a day for 35 years. Legendarily insatiable, gorgeous and vain but NOT a Leo, lol.  His astro is actually really interesting & illuminating as to what sort of (astrological) equipment a pantsman could actually have…

He’s said to be 28 Virgo Rising but i reckon that’s bogus. He LOOKS like absolutely Libra Rising to me, cupid’s bow & goo-goo eyes and all. He’d only have to have been born half an hour or so later to be Libra Rising. And that would mean this annoying book (for him) would be coming out with Saturn on his Ascendent…makes total sense.

He’s an Aries – Sun conjunct Mercury in Aries so bigmouth the great & tres cocky.  Mars is in Saggo – that’s a very youthful, enthusiastic and gung-ho sort of a Mars. He’d bound off after the deed, friendly & no angst what-so-ever. No games. Extreme candour.

But the really cool bit is this: Moon in Scorpio conjunct Lilith opposite Venus conjunct Uranus in Taurus and they’re all aspected by Pluto. Not only insatiable but inventive too and not even a  hint of a Madonna-Whore complex. How there be with Moon conjunct Lilith??? Venus-Uranus in a hetero-guy is the gift to act as sort of a muse to individuated or eccentric women.

Have TOTALLY lost track of Courtney Love.

She’s a Cancerian – it’s her birthday on Saturday and she has Libra Rising. Hence her amazing ability to Scrub Up sensationally well when she wants to. But the reason i’ve lost track ain’t her astro.

She’s currently got Saturn opposing her Chiron and squaring her Mars-Venus in Gemini AND Lilith in Sagg so that buzzy charisma & self-belief would be a bit harder to come by. But Saturn DOES actually move, thank fuq, and she  has a while to get her shit together before Pluto opposes her Sun. Although, Pluto is presently hanging around her South Node so the Past comes up in Plutonic ways …maybe even more info re Nirvana/Kurt Cobain and by Feb.

What I have lost track of is what she represents: Grunge Icon? Ex Riot Grrrl Still Manifesting Feminist/Iconic Music Artiste? Homicidal Ho? Genius? Victim Of Plastic Surgery-N.P.D./Drugs Et Al?  Rock Goddess? Icon of Clean Living Personified? Exhibitionist wannabe?

At the hairdressers the other day I read in one mag that she was on some hideous drug/dangerously thing and in another mag that she has embraced Kundalini Yoga to the point that she has been initiated, is becoming an instructor and altering her name. The Scorpio Sex Academic has such disdain for the woman that she cancelled her Kundalini Yoga teacher training. There were other factors, such as the celibacy, but still.

Courtney Love has a beautiful Cancerian Sun-Moon conjunction in the visionary 9th House and Eros/Mercury on her Leo Midheaven so if she moves half-way to courting her public, they will be there for her. But the last “news” on her actual website is from 2007 – her clean, sober & a Givenchy muse. I thought the Nick Broomfield doco fascinating but also that she could act in that Larry Flynt bio movie…Has she done any music of note lately? Ever?

But the interesting astro idea is that your Rising and/or Ascendent sign really IS your best look.  If you do not know your Rising/Ascendent sign, you can figure it out via Astrodienst or via an astrologer. Once you have it, read that along with your Sun sign in any scope…See how it feels…

Do you embody your Rising Sign astrologically? It makes fashion/image a LOT easier once you accept it and – for astro-fiends only, look at the house placement of your ruling planet (ruler of the ascendent) for the BASE energy of your Look…I swear it makes AMAZING sense upon pondering. And of course if you have any BIG outer planet (Uranus, Pluto, Neptune) sitting on our Ascendent (such transits take at least 18 months) then  will perform a spectacular makeover, ready or NOT.  Ascendent astro WORKS. If you need to buy new clothes, wait until Venus is hovering nearby your Asc. Anyway, I am interested in the query – does your look embody your rising sign?

Aries Rising would need bold, primary colours – especially red. Taurus old world luxe & texture v.important. Gemini – trend fiend. Kataka would SO slink around in vintage. Leo, like a Versace look & blinged  up with golden aura. Virgo; precise, layered and with some thought behind it. Libra; classic bombshell. Scorpio; black leather, Sagg; boho & gear from their travels. Cap; austere, power. Aqua; prob the same thing ALL the time but it works? Pisces; crystally yoga wear & aura enhancing hues…

Some of the most amazing & iconic images in fashion ever are of this woman. She’s still charging around, an artist now & totally individuated. The National Gallery of Warsaw is about to host a massive exhibition of her work. Asked a few years ago if she missed the glam of modelling, she replied “No. I have my own drama and glamour anyhow. As long as I am here, it is not gone.”

She’s German & over six foot tall – a no-no when she started modelling. Her mother was a Countess & her father a German army officer executed by the Nazis for his part in trying to assassinate Hitler in July 1944 so she spent time at first hiding in the forest and then in various gestapo camps. She was left homeless/destitute along with her mother & sisters after the war.

Her astro is fascinating!  Sun conjunct Uranus in Taurus trined by Neptune. That’s already the rebel with a destiny and an other-worldly beauty right there. Taurus being on the three signs most blessed by Venus. Her Moon is in Pisces. She has Mercury, Venus and Saturn close together in Aries squared by Mars and Pluto. It’s a t-square as she has Mars in Capricorn opposite Pluto in Cancer and both squaring the Mercury, Venus & Saturn. I don’t know what time she born but I would be willing to bet a Libra Rising (more beauty) and so that’s caught up in a Grand Cross with the Mars, Pluto, Mercury, Venus & Saturn.  Her website is here.

Today is the birthday of Lee Miller, the Vogue covermodel turned intern & Muse to peeps such as Man Ray & Jean Cocteau to surrealist photographer and then genius photojournalist. Her early life was horrid. She was raped by a family friend and contracted a vile venereal disease:  “I looked like an angel but I was a fiend inside.”  She was one of the first photographers to document the horrors of the concentration camps & reveal them to the outside world.

This famous pic is of her in Hitler’s bathtub, after just such a harrowing journey.

The Carolyn Burke bio is brill & the book by her son, Anthony Penrose is sooo moving.  He says he did not understand the totality of her until after her not-so-easy demise. Heaps of her pics are at the Lee Miller virtual archive.

When I first saw Britney Spears, yonks ago, poncing about in her school skirt on the television being watched by my son and then-husband, I wasn’t madly impressed. But then somehow, during her long & trashed up psycho-Pluto-square Mars & Neptune transit, I began to like her. There was the shocker of a boyfriend. And then, after she cut all her hair off in a pre-menstrual (?) rage, feel sorry for her. She was becoming like a swamp-bogan version of Princess Diana. A beautiful, talented & wealthy young mother, with a huge following & yet…There she was schlepping around drinking slurpies, driving out-of-it with her kids in the car & engaging in vile family & custody lawsuits. There was even one week in which my teenage multiple Leo son – who adores her – was striding around wailing “why can’t somebody just do something?”

This latest comeback comes as she has Pluto on her IC (a major shift of focus, hopefully finding & grounding herself) and squaring her Libra-Asc: If she can pull it off – and she has not even had one Saturn Return yet – it will be a radical reinvention.  Jupiter is trining her Ascendant and about to conjoin her Moon – she could do something majorly expansive and creative…And to do with her parenting?  One thing: why the midriff pic? Yes, it definitely proves there ain’t no booze-bloat going on with Britney any more. But still. Is it declasse? Or am i out of mode?
