Wow – well I am nearly done with the Solar Eclipse queries & so you should have yours by this evening. I am also noticing that peeps are going mental out there today. There is a slight frenetic & bizarre edge to things – i blame it on the Dark Moon before an Eclipse having an extra powerful undertow and yet it’s in Aries so everyone’s buzzed & trying to make stuff happen whilst vibing mega-normal. It’s way more sedate and easy to process ye olde merde once the Moon gets into Taurus on thurs morning in Australia – weds afternoon/night in the Northern Hemisphere….Meanwhile; tame temper tantrums, channel the spaz &  – i know i am a fine one to talk – try to relax a bit.

Weird Symptom Of The Eclipse That I Did Not Particularly Predict: I keep thinking of all the people i know who don’t like  or even hate me. Not obsessively. They just keep occurring to me. It may also be the vile nachos i ate last night. Should avacado come from a sodding tube? Is the pondering peeps who hate one thing just me & my pmt??? Is anyone else having weirder-than-usual dreams?

Honesty Award Du Jour;  A Leo divorcee who knocked back invite to wedding as he would not be able to pull there, due to presence of ex as bridesmaid + ex-in-laws. GO the emotional candour!

Aqua-Maddie-Award Du Jour; Aqua-Girl has just texted to say she is off for something to do with nanophysics staying in a yurt, hunting  own food. I don’t know where this leaves her polyphasic sleep cycling but am assuming the Vegan thing is OFF.

I ought probably say “learning to love the Lunar Eclipse.” It’s in CAPRICORN so a bit bloody much to expect to actually “relax” and learn to love etc. T’is NOT the time to relax. And the non-stop flow of pragmatic real-life insights is a bit of a bother.

With this particular set-up, you paradoxically relax by embracing the work ethic & being a bit more savage in your thinking; not brutal nor cruel but a bit more hardcore selfish and sieving things through worldly realism. It will feel way better. And then you go back to being woo-woo later in the week as the Auspicious Aqua-Weirding Strikes again.

Remember that Eclipse Season (this one has three Eclipses) always reveal strongly what’s ending and what’s starting. By interfering in what’s ending, you stuff up the starts. Love the Lunar Eclipse by being clean, industrious and ultra-lucid in your judgements.  And keep scheming your way out of whatever mess you think you’re in – even as you bid a slightly teary farewell to elements of your paste/ye 0lde you/ex madness.

Mercury zipped from Gemini skies to Cancerian waters over the weekend. It’s an UP for emotional awareness and goobly deep dialogue but can also manifest as peeps contacting one merely to grizzle. And, most draining of all, when it becomes clear that they don’t want any helpful suggestions, perspective or to have their Qi raised. July 14 is when Mercury – messenger of the Gods – meets up with the Sun again & in astro-tradition, things lost during the last Mercury-Retrograde (most of May) shall now be found, mysteries solved and resolutions reached.

The 2nd house of your chart is known as the House of Earned Income – as opposed to the 8th house which can be money that just sorta comes to you…The 2nd House is your Money Box, your Wealth Sector and is symbolic  of your attitude toward toward lucre, material possessions and – deeper – your sense of self-adequacy.

Look first to the sign on the cusp of the House. And guys, the point of D.I.Y. Astro is that you glomp your chart off Astrodienst & have fun figuring it out here. There are always peeps to help or me, if you spring for an Astro-Query. Anyway, look to the sign on the cusp of the 2nd house. This is FUN. That sign is how you are with $$$.

So even though YOU may be a super-cautious & canny Capricorn, if you’ve got Leo lurking on the cusp of your 2nd – LOL. You will LIKE the sensation of having “proper” champagne in your fridge and you do not give a shit about what some wine wanker says about how some shit-house cheap sparkling wine is superior. No-no-no. You feel soothed by the registered orange hue of the Veuve label. Soothed.

Pisces on the cusp of the 2nd? You are so prone to giving stuff away. Things come to you when you need them as if by osmosis. Things go with ease. You’re like a walking installation of The Secret. Scorpio/Cancer on the cusp of the 2nd? You’re likely to be one of those peeps who just have the investment knack. You leapt in at the start of the tech boom and nipped out again quick smart. You can turn $5 into $500 and to you it’s as sensual and pleasurable as growing something in the garden.

But it’s not just the signs on the cusp of the 2nd. It’s also what’s in there! The classic challenged-by-money placement is our ye olde friend Saturn. Yet remember that your Saturn area gets buffed and buffed via loads of work and angsting till finally it becomes your shiniest area? Saturn in the 2nd house gets clobbered in early youth by seeming to lose money, be ripped off, just feeling always stuggling but by Jove, when this lot get self-reliant, they are a force. Healthy, wealthy & wise indeed.

Venus & Jupiter there – the benefics of trad astro – bless the person with the ability to sort of drum it up from nowhere, walk out the door and get offered the gig they need & even be fairly fortunate in just finding the stuff. Venus/Jupiter in the 2nd trots into garage sales & comes out clutching the actual valuable antique. Or gets a massive crush on some artist at uni who gives her his/her etchings & voila, they’re worth heaps at a later date.

Think also that you can make money via following the attributes of whatever sign/planet is plonked there. And don’t worry if no planet there – it just means it’s not that important to you. Uranus in 2nd; money off the net, via inventions & television. Neptune; film, acting, science fantasy. You could even have the gift of literally dreaming up profitable ideas. Pluto is like mogul-land. People who literally go from having zilch to being officially selfmade millionaires often have Pluto (or Scorp) in the 2nd.

Mercury & the Moon in the 2nd – you’re able to intuit so eerily well what peeps want that you do amazingly well in corporate world/sales & – obviously – writing/self-expression. Retail genius often goes with the Moon in the 2nd. Knowing what peeps want before they know it. Being able to divine trends.

So check out your 2nd house and try to go with it a bit. Oh and another one – Mars/Aries in 2nd house – they will go hard at it and take it as a personal assualt to their ego if you try to come between them and their earning power. They get off on earning & flashing it about a bit. It’s not vulgar – it’s just like someone with another kind of strong Mars doing chin-ups on the door to impress you.

Again, this is why i love astrology, it’s so helpful to get how peeps truly are different. So if one person feels  inclined to hoard & hoard whilst another is like carpe-diem,  it’s not that either of them are wrong! Go for it – check out your 2nd house, the sign on the cusp, anything in there (South NOde is like you’re over material security and feel stuck by it, North Node is like you GOTTA get it and have it to feel spiritually secure) whether or not you’re working it right AND any big transits through it…

Have a FUN Mars-Venusian style kinda weekend, what with the conjunction enlivening the Dark Moon in Taurus & all….

I am popping up the road to see a Moon-in-Scorpio Rising client of mine, Abbe May,  perform. This clip below is Eclipse themed, given that the Solar Eclipse on July 22 (the longest and most intense in yonks) is bang on her Cancerian Sun. Again, 29 degrees of Cancer/Kataka is the bit of your chart to be looking at with a major fresh start in mind…Plan to revolutionise there…

Whether it’s your chart, the chart of your lover and/or the so-called Composite Chart (you and your lovers chart blended together into what is essentially a chart of your relationship) the points to watch are the Ascendent, Descendent, Sun & Moon.  And then you don’t just look for a silly little bit of Full Moon nonsense.

You are looking at Saturn Out. By which i mean, the relatively rare transits of Saturn, Neptune, Uranus & Pluto.  All these astro-passages seem to test a relationships validity, authenticity and relevance. Sighhhh. But please don’t flip if one of these planetary heavy-hitters is approaching a significant point; they can also indicate expansion & emancipation – an evolution of the existing relationship.

Yet whenever i have a client with one of these nearing his/her Descendent – the cusp of the House of Love/Relationship sector, I have but to say the R word and they wince. Uranus is more like the person hasn’t even bothered to consult an astrologer because they’re outta there & they’ll fix up the details later. Saturn is a more sombre & let’s-do-this-right mature decision kind of an energy.

Uranian break-ups are more w.t.f? If Neptune is the culprit, there can be confusion, yearning and maybe even one of the parties just sort of drifts off into lala land. There may not be closure! Less said about Plutonic break-ups the better; they’re the stormy ones. Having said that, as we always say in ‘buck up’ mode when discussing Pluto, there will be a vast degree of self-knowledge and personal growth that  you can gain from this enriching experience.

Eclipses – such as the ones we are entering into at 15 Capricorn, 29 degrees of Cancer/Kataka & then (less strong) 13 degrees of Aqua – can also be linked with major turning points if they hit on of the aforementioned important points. But pls don’t go and squiz at your chart or composite, whatever & then diagnose something vile if you don’t know what you’re doing…!!!!

If you’re smarting from a bust-up or something that didn’t work out as you would have wished, try to see it as part of some grander plan, fix the Feng Shui, exfoliate, get therapy if you think you need it, Reiki, massage, mates & this is something i read yonks ago in a magazine article about divorce. It’s apt.  You have to look after the Five Fs. Fitness – because it’s good for your health & self-esteem. Finances – because you’ve got to be independent and loving it. Friends – expect to lose a LOT of them & make some new ones but the ones you keep are for real. Family – if you have kids, you become closer to them & they sort of get to know you better. Fuqing – because you can & will have sex again.

Just to add to the Astro-Beauty Sunglasses ravings;  Super-duper Fly Sunnies a.k.a ultra Low Visibility sunglasses apparently are The 2009 Trend & how perfect for Eclipse Season! Note: Don’t be an idiot – I am not saying you can wear these to safely gaze at the Solar Eclipse on June 22!  But these are surely so apt for when you don’t want to see so much of what’s around you. More shield than visual aid of any sort…Lower Gemini Delia Antwerp Aaars would have already ordered her pair. So now. Devastating at art gallery openings, lurching around  in her Designer Hair Skirt after her 5th plastic beaker of warm chablis as she weaves around trying to pull the artist du jour back to hers so she can show him the Bauhaus armchair.
