The Peachblossom Remedy is one of the most notorious in Feng Shui.

Why? Because it’s tremendously effective at attracting love/lust  but you really should not set it up sans having a proper Feng Shui consult first. Also, it is renowned for bringing in suitors but not necessarily what my Feng Shui Master calls a “quality relationship.” And it’s probably best to also ensure your bed direction is correct as well. So whilst I totally get all this and recommend peeps fix all the Feng Shui/geomancy/uncluttering before activating this, the Peachblossom Remedy is helpfully online here.

If anyone wants to give it a bash & then blog it in the comments stream, it would be VERY interesting. I put mine up the other month but had to take it down I was too busy to deal with the phone calls & requests for “dates.” It totally works but that “quality” provisio is accurate. I love Feng Shui. I often muse about doing a service where I go to someone’s house and skilfully unclutter etc it for them but nobody would let me be ruthless enough, I know it.

Another interesting romance ritual to do is to get the moment of your Venus Return – it is like Saturn Return but much more common and pleasurable. Your Venus Return is when Venus – Goddess of Love, Beauty, Sexual Rapture et al – gets to the same position she was at when you were born. You light a pink candle & do various other things. But you need to either be an astro-fiend, an ephemeris whiz or get an Astro-Query to figure it. If you want to meet someone amazing, it’s a fantastic date to go out on. Sunrise on a Friday is also lucky lovewise and good for Venus Rituals if you don’t know your Venus Return date AND when Mars is on your Venus – about once every two years as well.

Mugwort is amazingly brilliant.  I know i say that about every herb i am in the mood to enthuse about but really…It is magic & protective to the nth degree. The Latin name for this herb is Artemisia Vulgaris – herb of Artemis, the Moon Goddess. Even a teensy bit of the fresh or dried mugwort in between the pillow case & the pillow will induce the most intense dreams – I try it occasionally, when I am feeling daring enough. AND i am trying to grow it.

Some say it was the herb used in flying ointment, to make the brooms witches flew on. It’s sooo powerful that you’d only want to touch it in a blend made by a qualified herbalist.

Mugwort is revered in Chinese Medicine, where they all it Ai-Ye & it’s used in moxibustion, done by acupuncturists for all sort of things but most commonly to move breech babies though i had it this morning to raise Qi. The word “moxy” comes from “moxa” which is the medicinal application of Mugwort to the Chinese meridians et al.

Mostly what i use it for is as a smudge stick – most smudge sticks are sage & mugwort IS actually a variety of sage. So when you want to cleanse the atmosphere of your space & it need something super-heavy-duty, beyond normal white sage smudging, you reach for the Mugwort. I haven’t done a posting on smudging  yet; short version – clean your house, throw shit out & then light the smudge stick & waft it about, as if cleansing the air. It is instantly effective.

You can get smudge sticks from any good new agie shops,  the peeps i linked to above or google them…

The Darkest Darky Dark bit of the Dark Moon CAN feel a bit like this; icy & rocky yet – because Mars is in Aries & there is a lot of brilliant new worldly stuff building – you are able to stand on the edge of a barren cold cliff and evoke primal bliss, power & genius.

So far – so good. But please do not forget the last day of the Dark Moon before it is new is also SO auspicious for uncluttering. Saturn is in Virgo for a while yet. Transcendence IS in the detail, God actually is next to clean & there are infinity number of house-witchery reasons to keep a real clean house.

Soooo…the old news, dead wood (old newspaper is symbolically dead wood, did you know?) and maybe even the chair if it is cracked, unstable or has poor Qi for some reason you can’t specify BUT if gives you the shits. Cherchez Le Grip! Before the New Moon! Again. Yes, it’s a cycle.

Birds love Ylang-Ylang & so do I. Depending upon whom you ask, the name means Flower Of Flowers, Rare or Wilderness. In trad herb lore, it is a flower of Venus & the essential oil is officially recognised for langour & euphoria inducing qualities, along with the ability to help cure various ailments from motion sickness to high blood pressure. Margaret Mead noted that the South Pacific island dwellers used it liberally as an aphrodisiac, sprinkling it on beds & what-not.

Personally, i love the reek of it so much that i bung it everywhere; into big bottles of sweet almond oil to make body oil, into the sheets wash, floor wash, in an atomiser bottle to spray around as room freshener…Would cook with it if i could. The Wiki for it has this fabulous line re the scent; “The fragrance of ylang-ylang is rich and deep with notes of rubber and custard, and bright with hints of jasmine and neroli.”

And, a la the G.F.C. situation AND increasing concerns re toxic ingredients in perfumes,  why not create your own concoctions with actual ingredients proven to enhance mood et al?  Anyway, if you don’t have any in the house, try to snort some essential oil of Ylang-Ylang before the Full Moon & see if you do not notice the effect.

Salt is insanely magic. Especially sea salt. Nearly every single culture considers it protective.  Voodoo, Pagan, Hindu…Various ye olde lore has it that you can put a line of salt across your threshold to keep those would wish you ill out, put in a circle around you to do a spell ‘in private’ and sprinkle it in all corners of your house/a room. Bathing in salt (Dead Sea Salt is incredible, so are Epsom Salts) is a powerful purification ritual – you sleep deeply & peacefully afterward. It sounds so daffy, but it really does seem to lift negative vibes.

In Flying Star Feng Shui, one of the most commonly used cures for the notorious ‘5′ star is a glass bowl full of pure water and a handful of sea salt. The 5 is, incidentally, in the North sector this Chinese year. Though you would have to get a proper Feng Shui consult to find out where it was in your house. And then there is the classic chucking salt over your left shoulder for luck.  Salt scrubs cleanse your aura & obviously, exfoliate. Salt is also widely used in ghost-busting & exorcism work.
