Geminis

These are illos from Vogue Russia’s 2010 astrology special & they are kind of awesome, yes?

This is Gemini, above, one Twin laughing & the other seething…Here’s Virgo & Pisces…

It WOULD actually take a Virgo to keep that white nunny thing so starched & white though I think that, in real life, Virgoans prefer a nude lip. Less chance for mishaps and lip imprints…

Poor Fish. It’s a bit creepy & Pisceans don’t usually like wearing watches.

Jean Seberg as Joan/Jeanne of Arc

Some say that today is the birthday of Jeanne D’Arc (or as the British who executed her would  have it, Joan) and others – such as Astro-Databank – prefer the birthdate of January 15. Either way, she was certainly a Capricorn, rising from her peasant birth to become a religious and military leader, icon, martyr & finally saint…And all as a teenager. Poor thing.

I love what the Gemini novelist Francoise Sagan said of her: “I always believe things are going to work out. Every time I see a film about Joan of Arc I’m convinced she’ll get away with it. It’s the only way to get through life.”

The major astro in the Astro-Databank chart? Mars, Uranus & the North Node in Aquarius opposed by Lilith in Leo & trining Pluto + Saturn.  Major visioneering and belief in manifest, utopian destiny with that lot…Neptune opposite Mercury…voices? Delusions?

Quick question for the Astro-Fiends: Does anyone have Neptune in tight aspect to Mercury & how do you experience it? Ghosts? Dreams? Visions? I have them in quincunx & it can be very interesting but erractic. eg: excellent e.s.p. but not on call.

alone-in-the-kitchen-with-an-eggplant

Wow, I was SO impressed when i saw this book, as in it is a cool concept & beautifully realised but my 2nd thought was eggplant? Are they all bullshitting?  Maybe it’s because my classic Eating Alone thing is more like this:

SuperStock_1532R-12808

Although, I can do an awesome “healthy” version which involves pan – not deep – frying, organic spuds, olive oil and garlic whatever…But you see, the author of this book – the Eggplant Lady, Jenni Ferrari-Adler – is a Gemini! Yes, i looked. And I have often noted that Geminis ARE the most elegant eaters, even when alone. They genuinely enjoy salads & left to their own devices, they will not – unlike our Virgo – fall upon a polygamist-Mormon-sized-family bar of chocolate with avid glee whilst chortling at crap tv and then indulge in an orgy of guilt shortly afterward.

So Gemini Eggplant Lady WOULD think wow – here i am, alone in the kitchen and hungry, I’ll do something chic with eggplant. Taurus, Aqua and Leo would carb up – though the Taurus and Leo would ensure it was something gourmet. Scorpio would prob stalk off to self-pleasure first and then figure out if still hungry later. Aries and Capricorn would fulfil what was nutritionally necessary to maintain life/their chic physique. Pisces would quickly have something angelic such as Tofu and THEN  hit on the jelly snakes or chardie. Sagg would have a smoothie and Libra would NOT eat alone. I am thinking that kataka would definitely cook themselves something “proper” but it would be a well-exercised mini-banquet for one such as Macaroni & Cheese.

Geminis, are you at ALL like Eggplant Lady?  Other peeps – am i right or am i wrong?

Oh and Aquarius has secret bread binges, I think. Stoneground, sourdough or based on ancient grains that make some tribe live for several thousand years but bread nonetheless. And then they flip as they’re so anti-wheat and it sedates them so that they can’t conspiracy-theorise straight.

So, is being a Gemini like this constant thing of battling with yourself? Bob Dylan – a Gemini – wrote something about being exhausted from his constant battles with himself & where-ever Gemini is in your chart is where you always have a dual reality going on? Or are Geminis really holistic about it, working together like Thing One and Thing Two?  Pisces is also a Twin sign – Twin Fish & I have always thought Saggo to be a sort of Twin Sign as well – the half back end of horse/half wise healer archetype.

33585Yonks ago i was shopping for stationery with Not-The-Typical-Virgo and she baulked at the coloured paper clips. Only the classic variety – featured above – would fit her paperclip paradigm. There was something suss about the coloured ones or (snobby shudder) the ‘novelty’ shaped ones. The jumbos? Not appropriate. If a larger paper clip was seemingly required then it was time to move up to a bull-clip or other more suitable solution.

So, thinking of that, i wanted to go looking to see if a Virgo invented the Paper Clip. It would seem likely. But no, it was most likely a Taurean by the name of Herbert Spencer and he also coined the term “survival of the fittest.”

BTW,  it is Geminis who are most likely to twist paper clips into neurotic little wire sculptures and yet not bother to use them for their intended purpose.

What, in chez You, is the item or room that most reflects your Sun or Moon Sign???  Mine is totally my bedside table although the bathroom cabinet (alphabetically arranged essential oils) comes next. And you? Smarty-pants peeps can cite the sign on the cusp of their 4th House, if they like.

I always think the Sagg cliche is a bike, packed bag with passport, surfboard and/or set of skis in the hallway. Taurus sink $$$ into a couch they can sink into to think. Geminis love gadgets & Leos need a big plasma to watch wanky movies + maybe a throne…

Virgo would technically be into wheatgrass but also hide a secret cache of luxury chocolate…

Crab Peeps? Nostalgia & antiques for sure…

And you?

pearl3

Wanting to buy some ghastly Gemini a gift? The pearl is their birthstone. And, as my Gemini mother & sister (!) have always reminded me, it is unlucky for anyone but a Gemini to wear pearls. This may just be their propaganda of course.

An ancient rhyme: “PEARLS for JUNE girls the precious wealth, and to crown it all they bring her HEALTH.”

This could be useful for anyone struggling with the Tao Of Gemini:

Gemini Actor Gina Gershon explains herself…

“Yes,” she says with a laugh. “For everyone I’ve ever lived with, it’s like the big joke: who’s going to come home today? I’m like a split personality. My face changes, my voice changes, my personality changes. If I’m talking about Boston or New York, you’ll notice my voice change. It’s bad; I have no personality!” Again she laughs. “What’s the animal that always changes color? A chameleon. I feel kind of like that. Because if they’re nervous or scared or they don’t trust someone, they have a different sort of camouflage. But as soon as they warm up to someone, they reveal their true colors.”

v10-married-men

Yes, I know that some of you guys are men and not even gay! In which case you’re more than welcome to substitute the word ‘women’ for men.  If you’re a gay girl – think ‘wives’ – whatever. I am just interested in the astro of when peeps get involved as the third-bit of a triangle and all. No morality, no angst, no names – astro-anecdotally only — WHICH MARRIED SIGN IS THE MOST LIKELY TO FOOL AROUND?

Not deeply fall in love.  Not your Twin Souls entangled with others when  you meet hoo-hah. I am talking about Players.

The astro-lore has it that tricky aspects to the Moon signify players but a lot of this stuff was written during a time of less cultural freedom. And it’s sexist. We need new data. Which sign is most likely to be the Classic Married Player?  Male or female. The retro guy or gal who can happily linger in apparent hell for decades, provided he/she gets the occasional excursion.  It’s not Aries, Kataka, Scorpio nor Aquarius or even Pisces…though the latter is doubtful. Taurus is the most likely to use a professional but be stringent in enforcing the mate’s boundaries.

Yes? No? This is purely objective and save tales of YOUR tawdry sluttage & infidelity for later. This is TOTALLY about which sign is the most likely to be (apparently) attached to an entity whom does  not understand (ever) him/her and seek comfort outside of this bond without ever actually breaking it.

I’m going for Gemini. When I was a teenage cocktail waitress, a young Gemini sales rep took me home “for a drink” and insisted  that the toys around the place – bikes, dolls etc scattered everywhere – were something he collected, being arty & all. And that the photos of him with a bride on the mantlepeice were of him and his SISTER as he was SO close to her and she DIED so he kept the pics. I left suddenly when the wife + her parents & the kids got home several hours earlier than expected. He told me that they were the mafia and that i had to leave immediately through the window. He then stalked me. What was weird is that it took me ages to figure out what had happened, as i was So naive.

Players? Married players? This is a very apt topic for the Full Moon in Scorpio with Mercury Retro…

fairytaleIrisz Agocs

WHAT is your favourite fairytale? Not the one that you think has the most Jungian resonance or that is officially cool but one that you LOVED…There is, of course, bound to be some psych-significance in your choice. Arieans & Saggos tend to love the quest stories, Librans & Pisceans the Sleeping Beauty awakened by Prince ones & Geminis the fairy tales that involve intricate tricks or beauty & the beast scenarios. Rapunzel totally gives me the merdes and I am not even sure why…My fave is The Ugly Duckling.

Here is something to enhance any Virgoan Moon flossing frenzy/general dental hygiene jag. This Tooth Meridian Chart has its origins in Chinese medicine & says each tooth corresponds to a different organ. Like reflexology. So, say you’re ferociously creating tooth perfection in your bathroom whilst also noticing a slight crack in a tile, planning a mega-exfoliation and calculating diff mobile phone interest plans in your mind — all the Virgo Moon stuff that we do…Now you can also note any bits of your gums et al that feel tender or bleed and then go analyze.

This other chart here is similar but it adds a whole pile of emotions & chakras into the mix. Teeth are traditionally under the reign of Saturn. Hence their role as not only useful for eating and as health indicators but also signifiers of status. Those dreams when the teeth weaken or fall out are classic yicky Saturn transit stuff, helped by getting your self together so far as the Saturnine side of life is concerned…the dentist, the taxes, the hygiene.

BTW, do you realise that Saturn is going to nip OUT of Virgo & into Libra later this year? Saturn is actually exalted in Libra. But Virgoans & the other Mutables (Pisces, Gemini, Saggo) being so hard-hit by Saturn in Virgo will get a wee break. In the meantime, do the dentist, do the details, eat plenty of fibre etc…Saturn is not really a Law Of Attraction style planet. That would be Jupiter…
