Pre WWI French Post-Card from French-Kissed

“The Little Astrologer: Your star, which seems attached to Saturn, indicates your seeds will produce very beautiful harvests. You prefer the shade to the light and your life will pass in sweet solitude which one soul mate will come to divide.”‘

Okay – fine. YOU translate.  And no cussing, even though it is about Saturn. Actually, yes cussing. It’s not like i occupy the moral high ground when it comes to swearing.  Whoever conceived this postcard, I love the positive and poetic take on Saturn & the euphemistic “seems attached” to Saturn. Tres, tres tactful.

20091110_lotd_250x375Fashion is FULL of Virgos. It really is.

I think it’s because it allows them to delineate things non-stop.

Think about it. Hemlines, detailing on handbags, subtle interpretations of trends, referencing and a bit of judgement…

Carine Roitfeld, the French Vogue editor is fabulous.

Whenever I read her in interviews, she always sounds SO refreshing & funny. She’s uber-Virgoan, denouncing clutter and v.clear about her opinions & disdain for various things. Her office is renowned for its lack of clutter. Three books only and some Damian Hirst Diamond Skulls.Which she collects. Virgos always collect something.

She is, naturally, meant to be Madame It of Fashion so it caused somewhat of a stink the other day when she arrived at some show wearing an outfit with NO PANTS. NOR SKIRT.

Now, seeing as Virgoans don’t do this sort of thing lightly – she is not a Sagg who just looked at her pants, sniffed with derision and thought ‘fuq it’, she is a French Virgoan Fashion Icon – i am thinking she is doing a Thank God Saturn Is Out Of Virgo statement or a Uranus Is Opposite My Sun And I Am In My 50s Still With Fab Legs statement.

If it’s not that then i dread to think of this look becoming ubiquitous.

“The modern English words “night”, “nocturnal”, and “equinox” (as well as the French “la nuit”, meaning night) are all derived from Nut’s name. Nut’s symbols are the stars, the night sky, and cows. Lapis Lazuli is also sacred to Her. Nuit is associated with Thursday and also with March. “

deja-vu

It’s big, of course, with the Moon in Pisces today, Neptune slowing and Mercury Retrograde…But seriously what is Deja Vu? I would love to think it something super-cosmic as that would fit BUT nearly all the Deja Vu I’ve had has been when doing something insignificant & yet the Deja Vu instills the moment with the most intense significance. Is it a sign that one is on the right track? A neurological glitch? A tweak of the Matrix?

And is there a a sign/astro-signifier more prone to it than others? Is it more or less common at different ages? I know my son and his teen friends all seem to get it constantly but it’s hard to tell if they are being sincere or just sort of freaking out that some chick has just sent them the same text msg ten times. I love it. And am willing to totally believe it’s profound – the sensation that comes across one at the start of a Deja Vu experience – isn’t it just kind of similar to an orgasm? Like for a nano you know it’s about to happen and that you’re toppling into it?

Also,  how often do you get it? It would be awesome to establish an idea of what is the ‘norm’ for Deja Vu…It is French for Already There, I think. The first Deja Vu i remember was when i was about 13 and at hockey; this terrifying Aries Jockette proclaimed that you could tell if someone was a virgin or not by looking at their knees, she glared at mine and – voila – intense Deja Vu. Maybe it is like a protective mechanism?!

My theory is that the Very Same Person who liked the Bauhuas Armchair would also wear this Designer Hair skirt…It is a SHE and I am starting to think she is a Gemini & that she’s like the lower version of her sign. Every sign has a haute & a low (w.t.f. is French for low?) version of themselves. That’s not to be judgemental. But, for instance, a Lower Pisces is a lying, cheating, grifting and yet beguiling bit of work oft to be found bullshitting to the next hapless sap at a bar someplace. A Haute Pisces is compassionate, multi-faceted & truly glam.

Lower Leo is like the Cowardly Lion – all hollow bombast & name-dropping. I nearly typed name-dripping. Even MORE apt. A conversation with a lower Leo is like non-stop Name-dripping. The names and the brand references just get drip fed into the convo. Higher Leos are like life-is-a-party, self-actualising artistes at whatever they do.

Anyway, this Designer Hair skirt and that hideous Bauhaus armchair both belong to the same lady & I think she is a Lower Gemini. With a crush on a Lower Leo only she’s too self-obsessed to notice he gay.

Yes it’s Friday 13 tomorrow and then the next 13th (March) is a Friday as well. But it’s auspicious!

Like all of the days of our week, Friday is named after a Norse Deity – Friday a.k.a Freya the Norse Goddess of Love. Their Venus. Note that the French word for Friday is Vendredi, day of Venus.  In India, it is Shukrava, named after the Sanskrit love goddess Shukra.

Many an ancient Christian shunned the day of Venus/Ishtar etc as they presumably thought her conduct far too frivolous & sensual. The 13 pissed them off because it is the actual number of lunar months in a year, yet another reminder of pre-patriarchal religion.  So Friday the 13th was just O.T.T. for a certain mindset. And Freya also rode in a chariot drawn by black cats.
