This is Demi Moore spokes-modelling the new Helena Rubinstein juice: All You’ve Ever Wanted. I did not know the brand still existed. Helena Rubinstein herself was a stupendously hard-working, perpetually self-reinventive and wealthy Capricorn. She is probably organising the brand rejuvenation strategy from heaven. Seriously. Caps don’t stop working.

But this ad? Leaving aside the plastic texture of the skin (reminds me of that Libran Fembot from the other day) she looks like she is just eyeing up the target she is going to bash with that bottle. And what…she is sitting on the sofa and the Ashton-clone is hanging from the roof a la BAT? Is this a Twilight reference? Bit dated now, surely? And I am pro-Demi but I don’t like her in this.

See also the analysis of the shocker of the scent ad from the otherwise studly and talented Matthew McConaughey: “He looks constipated and up himself” is not a good brand association, no?

Compare Matthew’s shill for Dolce & Gabbana with this one and one has to come to the conclusion that Scorpio celebrities cannot do good perfume ads.

And the concept behind “All You’ve Ever Wanted” being contained in a bottle?  Focus Group infinity with Demi picked to front as young hubby, sane & healthy kids, $$$, long hair, brilliant skin, pleasant relationship with ex-hubby, tight abs and a million followers on Twitter symbolic of all anyone wants – yes?

Oh how i loved this book, the original bonkbuster & written by canny Capricorn, Judith Krantz. When it was published in 1978 – becoming a more or less instant sensation – Krantz was 50 & it was her first book ever. Never write off a Cap. She also has Pluto opposite her Sun – that’s quite motivating,  yes?

It’s complete filth, but with an amazing amount of info & details. It was like the bible for my friends and I at school. Fuq sex education. I have not read this thing of late but it’s like an instruction manual for sex, dieting, dealing with bitches, the movie world & running a business. The heroine – from memory – is fat & unpopular as a child but then she goes to Paris (something sad has happened) & there is a whole chapter or two that’s like Frenchwoman Don’t Get Fat fictionalised.

Then she gets back to New York or someplace, totally transformed & driven. She embarks upon an exciting life of sex & business – the Scruples of the title is absolutely nothing to do with morals because few peeps in this book have any- Scruples is an incredible department store. Krantz went on to do heaps of other books but i don’t think anything is quite like Scruples.

“…”I know I’m a bit over-exaggerated; I wear too much makeup, too much hair,” the singer-songwriter and theme park co-owner told CNN’s Revealed. And it’s not just for the stage or public appearances. The truth, Dolly Parton told CNN, is that when she’s in California or New York “where anything could happen” she goes to bed with her makeup on.

“I think I’m not going to wash my face until morning, and then I’ll clean it off and I’ll put it on in case I have to get up in the middle of the night,” she said. “If I go out in public, people expect me to look a certain way and if you say ‘There’s Dolly’ or whoever it may be, you expect to see them in the way that you see them, the way you know them.”

Capricorns often have Machiavellian qualities attributed to them but Machiavelli was a Taurus. The simple truth; Caps have a work ethic beyond the  norm & it’s that which ensures their legendary success. Seriously, do any of you know a slacker Cap?

As for Dolly Parton, i LOVE her Joelene & Islands in the Stream but god it would be awesome to see her sans make-up. Not papped with a slurpee & clutching a brick size pack of fags a la Britney but just a dignfied pretty shot. More like what Harpers Bazaar & previously French Elle is doing with the supernaturals issues. So Pluto in Cap.

“…I have an austere temperament,” she says. “There are things that give me no pleasure: objects, clothes, jewelry. I’ve worn them all, but all that stuff interferes with my daily life.” She does her own hair. According to her friend Farida Khelfa, “Carla hates shopping and would wear the same pair of trousers every day if she could.” Makeup doesn’t interest her—”It takes forever and doesn’t make you look better after 30…”

From Vogue

Her chart is here & what do we see???

She has a poetic, musical & romantic Grand Water Trine with her Cancerian Ascendent trine Venus/Neptune in Scorpio and Chiron in Pisces. She has to have a creative outlet…Her Nodes are the reverse of Madonna’s so she comes comes from luxury but with the vision of learning to value more subtle manifestations of the light. Note – the literal meaning of luxury is ‘of the light’.

Saturn in Aries on the Midheaven – climbs, responsibility will become a leader as Uranus first squares her Sun at Zero degrees of Cap and then crosses the Saturn & midheaven from 2011 and beyond…Through annhilating (Uranus) some dominant paradigm?  Or a stupendous scandal? Moon-Pluto in Virgo…Austere temperament indeed. Would not pay to cross her…Maternal mortality as cause of her heart so fits the astro.

It just occurred to me that there seem to be two broad types of Capricorn….The austere ones & a slightly more earthy & robust variety a la Nigella Lawson – she of the cupcakes, goosefat and pragmatic sense of  humour.

It’s the same with Aquarians: You get the ravingly bats don’t-fence-me-in Uranian types & then a more Saturnine version (Saturn being the ancient ruler of Aquarius, before Uranus was discovered) with the clinical demeanour and dislike for anything not scientifically proven. Pisceans too are often either Jovial or Neptunian…As in Jupiter was their ruler before Neptune.  So you get these bon-vivant Pisceans prancing about who are more like Sagg & then these Neptunian entrancers gliding about, between worlds & official mystics.

Dear Mystic,

I am a waitress at a casino in Nevada. One night a customer heard me say something about astrology to someone and pops off with,

“I’m a Gemini. What does that mean to you?”

Without missing a beat I smiled and said,

“It means I might sleep with you but I’d never trust you.”

The Sexy Cap…
