Capricorn traits

You know, I’ve said this before but I’m definitely starting to think it now: There are two types of Capricorn. One is more ruled by Pan-Dionysus kind of energy and the other by our lord Saturn.

See above for an example of Capricorn Type One, the cheekbony Ms Moss, avec Diet Coke, a fag & some alcoholic potion for perspective. All the ambition is present, of course, and there is still a work ethic but any control freakery does  not extend to body-as-a-temple policy.

Capricorn Type Two is embodied by Trudie Styler, aka co-producer of Moon and Mrs Sting, seen here below doing yoga at either her huge organic farm home or the Tuscan yoga ranch.

Capricorn One believes in preserving the body through constant intake of chemicals and other crap that will constantly challenge the immune system to become even more vigorous. Plus they just divert their work ethic into stamina to withstand an endless amount of toxins that would in fact poison anyone but Capricorn One. They’re also able to believe that everything they snort, eat or inhale converts to health and beauty via sheer willpower.  If the occasion is the ‘right’ occasion, of COURSE.

Capricorn Two shudders at the thought of common food and is perfectly happy to go the extra 900,000 whatevers to score the correct variety of biodynamic celeriac that will perfectly blend with the delicately honed bodily systems of Capricorn Two…They’re not just winging it and flinging any old organic crap down their gullett. Their diet is scientifically calibrated. Everything is measured. People say Saturn is their God and he is but the secondary Muse is Mensa, Goddess of Measurement. Whether it is weight or debt, there are numbers involved and Capricorn Two gets numbers.

Astrology In Ancient Rome: Poetry, Prophecy & Power.

“Whatever form the so-called publication of his horoscope took, we can be completely certain that Augustus wanted the world to know what sign he was born under. Let me refer you to the three images you’ve seen in this article. The first one is a coin, one of several Augustan coins featuring Capricorn. You can see the name “Augustus,” and the sea-goat holding the globe of the world. Augustus is Capricorn, in other words, and as the cosmocrator (master of the universe), he’s got the whole world in his hands. While Augustus’ rhetoric in words was putting forward an image of himself as “first among equals,” the astrological imagery of this coin is putting forward an unmistakable bid for autocracy and even kingship.

“The next image is the most famous cameo portrait of Augustus, the so-called “Gemma Augustea.” The woman placing the crown on Augustus’ head almost certainly represents the oikoumene, a Greek word meaning “the inhabited world” (we know this from similar representations on coins where the image bears a caption). Just behind Augustus’ head is a round lozenge containing a small image of Capricorn the sea-goat. We have a fair number of other Capricorn artifacts that probably belonged to private individuals, and these have been found throughout the empire. My third image, another cameo, is an example. The young man swimming the waves is both riding on Capricorn and probably also to be identified with Capricorn. His features, shown in profile, are recognizably those of the young Augustus.

Why Capricorn? We don’t really know. Augustus’ sun sign was Libra. Capricorn was probably either his rising sign or, more likely, his Moon sign. What particular qualities of the sea-goat made this sign especially appropriate for Augustus? Again, we don’t know for sure. Possibly because Capricorn, then as now, was associated with stern moral authority.

Imagine being a Libran Emperor and going to such pains to ensure you were branded Capricorn – i love this tale and it’s totally from astro-sceptical historians

You know, no doubt, of the “dark horse” cliche – this is more of a Dark Unicorn moment.

Seriously! Totally! I mean as in that one can attain a Unicorny degree of blameless clarity or even innocence/a fresh start feeling but it comes with a darker edge of self-knowing.

The Full Moon Eclipse in Capricorn is about neo-pragmatism – a feeling of foreboding that lifts the nano you face up to one icky fact or another and start to make cohesive plans. It’s like Saturn. Yes? So not a good time to float about being gaga & lazy or unrealistic. It’s all Earth-Earth-Earth so be grounded.

Yes, you have to work a BIT harder at firing  up the old self-belief as there is a paucity of Fire Sign action in the skies right now; you generate the heat from secret stores of Qi? But, as if to compensate, remember that Mars IS going to spend nearly NINE MONTHS in Leo from October…And some of that will include Uranus in Aries.

What will Uranus in Aries be like? I reckon it will be cool. This dude was born with Uranus in Aries & his generation produced some fantastic inventive peeps.

I did an extended rave re the Mars going Ape component of this Eclipse in Daily Mystic & the Scopes but in short; stay pragmatic & evolving even as some super-sensitive areas are tweaked. Sensational psych dreaming.
