Whenever I fess to feeling sorry for a celebrity, I get HOWLS in my in-box….”Dear Mystic, How could You, given the hell in Somalia…?…” And I so grok that.

BUT – I do, i DO feel a bit soz for Pixie Geldof at the moment.  There she is on the cover of March Vogue Italia above, looking lovely & yes, she is young, pretty, smart & with wealth to back her. But i read or re-read (?) a detail about her life the other day that made me so sad for her. She is a multiple conjunct Virgo – Sun-Moon-Ceres all in Virgo and her MOTHER Paula Yates died of that overdose ON her tenth birthday and in the same house Pixie was in…she tried to wake her, on her birthday morning….So unbelievably desperately sad.

She has, for Astro-Fiends, Mars and Lilith in opposition and both squaring her Sun-Moon-Ceres in Virgo.

And THEN,  just to hype  the astro-sleb-fluffery, I read some stupid goss that made it clear Pixie Geldof and Georgia Jagger (the beautiful Capricorn 2nd daughter of supermodel Jerry Hall) move in the same circles.

WHAT hell would THAT be?  I mean to be youthful rivals?

They are both gorgeous and cool, talented daughters of majorly interesting and successful rock star Dads but Georgia is SO-SO-SO mega-thing and she has not only longer legs & bigger lips & all but a MOM & a great big tall old Cancerian Texan MOM at that who you’d imagine you could tell nigh on anything to and she would just laugh her head off.

So I had this vision of Pixie thinking how Georgia could most likely do an awful lot of stuff and there would be an understanding Mother/ Doppelganger figure there for her at the end of the day to decipher, de-convolute, spread wise blessings AND give good pragma so far as modelling is concerned. And a CANCERIAN  Mother at that!!!   Mothering is like an ART form to them…

All that is known of Cleopatra’s birth is that it was in January of 69BC, rendering her a Capricorn or an Aquarius Sun. I was sitting there last night, pondering some sort of gag a la how she could/could not be either one of those signs, whatever. Suddenly, like a fiend possessed, I decided to figure out her birthdate. Thanks to the glory of Astrodienst I was able to check out the astro for Jan 69BC.  You can’t whiz up charts for that date, but they have an ephemeris.

I have decided that she was born on January 28 in 69BC. She’s an Aquarius. This was not just me guessing. I actually looked for the date she met Mark Antony as I assumed that would show up some fairly significant astrological transits to her chart. So, they met in October  of 41BC – if she were born on January 28 that would have Uranus crossing over Mars at that point. None of the other dates earlier in the month fit this. Uranus crossing over your Mars is totally apt astro for a woman meeting a life-warper of a man. She would also have  had Saturn on her Mercury in Capricorn at that date.

The January 28 birthday gives Cleopatra Sun conjunct Saturn in Aquarius and Venus in Pisces square both Jupiter and Neptune. Sun-Saturn is a visionary and driven leader who feels enormous responsibility from a young age & had to wield power. Venus square Jupiter and Neptune can totally go over the top for love, and what’s more wants to. I think it fits her. She apparently wrote textbooks on cosmetics and gynecology in between being a Queen, managing an Empire, becoming a legend and being immersed in this all-consuming love affair.

There is no asteroid named Cleopatra but there are some fantastic Ancient Egyptian themed asteroids, if you are interested. And no, i don’t really know what they mean in your chart but they’re fun to think about. For Astro-Fiends, at any rate. You can fling them into your chart using the Astrodienst Extended Chart Options feature;

Asteroid 42 is Isis (like the Egyptian Venus) and asteroid 2340 is Hathor (another version of Isis), asteroid 2436 is Hatshepsut – the only female Pharoah & whose rule was considered especially visionary & amazing. Asteroid 3199 is her granddaughter Nefertiti, she of the beautiful profile.  I am totally thrilled that i have Nefertiti conjunct my IC and Hatshepsut rising in Aquarius.

Carla Bruni’s Pluto transit (still on until the end of this year) saw a pretty amazing transformation. Appropriate, for the planet of transformation smack bang on her Capricorn Sun at Zero degrees.

Now she’s got Uranus approaching her Midheaven (public image) opposing her natal Uranus and squaring her Mercury at 28 degrees Saggo. Pluto going over that a few years ago would have deepened her consciousness for sure and now Uranus comes along to edge her into being a positive iconoclast. So she’s already got Mercury in mouthy Sagg and Uranus squaring it + opposing it for the next 18 months should see more such episodes as her mouthing off at the Pope. It is especially resonant as she was (a) born & raised Catholic & (b) is a woman in such a powerful position or at least with massive media cut-through speaking  out.

Also, note that the Saturn-Uranus opposition – next hit in September – will be right across her IC-MC axis; Saturnine conservative force at home vs Uranian forces in her career/wanting to use visibility to effect societal change and they both square her Mercury. It’s called a T-square and they rarely pass un-noticed nor fail to create a fuss. Hard choices though.

“I find that the controversy coming from the Pope’s message – albeit distorted by the media – is very damaging…In Africa it’s often Church people who look after sick people. It’s astonishing to see the difference between the theory and the reality. I think the Church should evolve on this issue. It presents the condom as a contraceptive which, incidentally, it forbids, although it is the only existing protection,” she told Femme Actuelle, the women’s magazine.

The comments will cause Mr Sarkozy embarrassment in a country where, despite the separation of Church and State, a majority of the population was born Catholic André Roux, a constitutional historian said: “It’s unprecedented for a first lady to criticise the Pope….”
