And, just as Mars-Pluto becomes exact, Venus sashays into Leo…The Love-Goddess will linger in Leo  until September 20…You could see her transit through this sign as a mini-prequel of what’s in store when Mars spends eight months in Leo from October…At around the time of the Saturn-Uranus opposition, Venus will oppose Jupiter-Neptune-Chiron (aka the Auspicious Aqua-Weirding) and so it’s a month of heightened drama & love thrills…Watch for dramatic bust-ups and grandiose showy hook-ups + coming outs. Venus in Leo – especially as Pluto is also Direct soon- is also classic makeover turf BUT triple check your instructions from Sept 7…the Mercury Retrograde. Bold, beautiful and who gives a fuq if you’re loud is the ruling attitude, of course & Venus in Leo does not tone it down nor succumb to a less-than-thrilling sex life. She’d rather (stylishly) do it with herself than take merde/be bored. Happy O.T.T.

073-saturn-girlSaturn Girl

I love the basic description of Saturn Girl as “a talented telepath from the 30th Century.”

I am so totally loving Saturn, even though the planet is opposing my Venus right now. As you can read in Saturn Crashes The Uranus-Venus Club and the Saturn-Venusian Transits Bad Boys Thingie if you are having a Uranus transit to any point in your chart in the next month, Saturn is along for the smackdown. But this is a GOOD thing.

It need not be Venus of course – whatever is betweeen 20 to 26 degrees of any sign but especially the Mutable signs (Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, Saggo) is being affected. In fact, more than that, it’s been caught between Saturn and Uranus.  My mind is on this at the moment partly because i am doing the Saturn-Uranus-Mercury Retro mini-astro-queries but also because i have this Saturn opposing my Venus thing going on & I have decided TWO MAJOR THINGS;

Thing One; Saturn is not boring. Yes i often link the planetary influence with mortality, taxes blah de blah. But the other night, when i turfed out the Uranian, it felt fabulous. Like having an inner suave life coach – setting boundaries seemed suddenly SO simple & easy. And just because he’d turned up out sans warning, i didn’t let my Venus-Neptunian goo-goo urges take over and render the whole thing “passionate” or (worse) fated. Quite frankly it is that sort of sentiment that leads to an awful lot of women snivelling into the cracked tea-mug they’re drinking warm gin out of as they gaze out of their rusty window frame at the railway tracks. Not that the U would have taken me there, but you get my point. Channel Saturn to prize your health, wealth & wisdom. Saturn is cool. And given that the pantheon is overwhelmingly male, i am visualising Saturn as Saturn-Girl for the moment. It works for me and it might work for you too.

Thing Two; Yes, Saturn and Uranus are moving into an opposition at the moment (and it’s back next April so how you do September’s one determines 2010 a LOT) but it need not be a battle between the two. What if they get along really well & help one another? The other night with the U is not just me being an indulgent confessional blogger – it works as an example because Venus was trining Uranus and sextiling Saturn. So it was an actual Saturn-Uranus opposition test/issue. Okay so Saturn works by setting boundaries & saying this isn’t good enough and so on – Uranus was simply bored by the whole thing. I seriously felt like it was a groundhog situation. Almost like we had been scripted and were just revving up for take 57 of the same stupid scene. Not good. Uranus on its own might grok the boredom and attempt to liven things up via a dash of chaos or acting out but Saturn kicks in and says ‘kill it’ – no dramas, no worries & now pixter your teeth, bung on some antioxidant serum & go happily to a rejuvenatory sleep.

So far as boundaries go, Saturn-Girl is set and forget. No agonising. No insomnia. No Neptunian musings re karma drama.

AND: One of my fave astro books – The Gods Of Change, by Howard Sasportas -  makes the point that Neptune always benefits from a little Saturn. So if you’re Venus in Pisces, Venus in 12th House or Venus aspecting Neptune (a la me) then you will love a good Saturn transit to your Venus, you truly will.

T’is Taurus Moon time again; the treehugger Moon. Get out there & embrace some manifestation of the Nature Goddess today. The Moon – a.k.a. Artemis/Diana/Cybele is exalted in Taurus. It’s considered to be the sign whereby the Moon best expresses herself. IN fact, the exaltation DEGREE of the Moon is 3 degreees – where She is right now. Totally do something Taurean; sensual, massage, wandering on the grass in your bare feet, the aforementioned tree hugging.  The Moon is also trine to Pluto so Deep Emo but easily realised and understood. Especially if you let yourself come over all flower-childy.

If only it could come in a pinstripe, spikes-all-over version, this would be the perfect outfit for the Mars-Saturn Square…in effect until Tues midday, all timezones. It’s ramped up a bit by the Moon in Aries – a sign ruled by Mars.  What you want is an outfit that puts off predators – because you look so hard to digest, like a hedgehog – and encourages the  merely annoying to keep the fuq out of your aura for fear of being pricked. In the absence of such an outfit to say it all for you, this is the demeanour du jour. Sanguine composure like you Saturn’s Intern & work the Mars out via, well, work.

It is a tenet of psychological theory that Water in dreams signifies your emotions, is it not???  So a placid rockpool lit by the sunrise would be totally different psycho reality than dreaming about great big crashing tsunamis, yes?  I dreamed of tsunamis nearly every night during 2004 and thought it t’was emotional, to do with my turbulent subconscious etc. Then the 2004 Great Tsunami occurred & I thought again. The dreams were always totally realistic, as in seeing the wave and then looking around for something to cling onto or wondering if i could run up the hill sort of thing. The last one I had  was ridiculous; i was standing in an island resort room about three stories high, looking at a hotel bill and freaking  out. Only it wasn’t really me. It was like i was looking over this woman’s shoulder.  And the woman was saying to a man “we can’t possibly pay this” and annoyed as he seemed not be listening. Then the woman looks up and sees him agape at a huge wave offshore & he says “if we survive this we won’t have to…”

So i woke  up thinking how stupid, went downstairs & there was that Boxing Day Tsunami, on television. But, I also have them (eg; this year) with nothing like that happening.  Does anyone else have big wave dreams??  Or care to spout forth with interpretations & dream sharing. I think in general the idea of  – say – turbulent water = turbulent emotions rings true…My intention is to try and lucidly dream the answer by zapping up my mugwort.  Mercury opposite Neptune should also max out the dreams for the next few days…fab for liars too!

Sexy Druid Warriors always aid one’s interest in ye olde Celtic practices.

Celtic Astrology is fascinating, of course, but like Geomancy (the Celtic version of Feng Shui) not nearly enough is known about it, thanks to the persecution and genocide of the Pagans.

It has it’s own Zodiac & we’re all trees! I think it’s beautiful, though sadly incomplete…We are soon in the time of the Hazel Tree:

“20 July – 16 August

The Hazel was the tree of wisdom and it was a crime punishable by death to fell one. It was thought magical skills and knowledge could be gained from eating Hazel nuts. Hazel people are artistic. They have lively, analytical minds and make inspiring teachers. Imaginative, they are radical and idealistic thinkers.

The Ruling Deity – The Sea God Manannan Mac Lir, a master of disguise, rules this sign.

The Druic Animal – Salmon – To the Celts, the Salmon is the oldest and wisest animal, symbolizing inspiration – Hazels need to express their creativity or they can become morbid and introspective

Planetary Ruler – Mercury

Ogham Word – Coll”

YOU can go read the rest at the above Celtic Astro link. Or just Google but be aware that peeps bicker a LOT over Celtic Astrology. And if you click on the witch-burning link, that damned book (Malleus Malificarum) was like a best-seller. Can you believe it? I read the whole thing one go on a day long ago in a sterile but comforting university library & found it so scary. It’s so dry and legal. But imagine your local council using it as their handbook. I had to keep looking up to remind myself that i was surrounded by trees, freedom, laws and relaxed students of all races & sexual identity, religion et al.

And what Tree are U? Does it FIT?
