My friend Kim Falconer always reminds me of this little bit of ancient astro-lore.

Whenever you are relating to someone with powerful synastry between you, it’s like you’re having a permanent transit of whatever planet is involved.

Huh?

Synastry is the comparison of two charts. Let’s just say you have a lover and their Saturn is right on your Moon. That means whenever you’re with this character or they are in your life, you may as well be having a Saturn-Moon transit. Which is not particularly a pleasant example. I find Saturn-Moon transits feel like getting into a wet swimsuit. Or cuddling up under a damp blanket.

So, let’s say someone’s Mars is on your Venus. Heaven. That’s like you’re having a non-stop Mars-Venus transit: Libidinal, inspired and hi-qi. Lust for life? Lust for damned well everything.

What’s fun is that you tend to attract peeps into your life who reflect the transit you are having. If you need to brush up on your Saturn management skills, along comes an inspirational haute Capricorn. Should you be mega-Saturnine and perhaps limiting yourself, enter a Plutonian to juice up your life.

eg; When Uranus was all over my Venus in 2008 & 2009, i seemed only able to date Aquarian men. It got to the point where I knew if a man was interested in me,  he’d be like a triple Aquarian AND have his Moon conjunct Uranus.

All this means that unless both people are evolving at the same rate and in similar directions, you do outgrow or vibe away from lovers & partners and that that this is a natural process. Sad when you think of the pair-bonded forever ideal but perhaps perfectly natural?

And btw, that seven year itch thing? It’s a Uranian cycle. Or one quarter of a full Saturn cycle. Very profound. Anytime you want some fun insights into your life patterns, run a seven year analysis. eg; Where were you & what were you feeling/doing seven years ago? Seven years before that???

Astrology is many cycles and all at once but it’s natural to crave a big change every seven years…

I’ve got Jupiter on my Venus in April – just as Uranus is on my Sun, ruler of my House of Love so i look forward to encountering someone v.jovial.

The Moon is in Libra, nearing Saturn and squaring Pluto…So it’s Libra with a Saturnine edge – scented aplomb (aplomb actually means balanced) & restraint – and Plutonic undercurrents; endings, beginnings, alchemy, clandestine lusts…Don’t let on or out until the New Moon in Sagittarius/Mars-Venus exact trine next week. Smell GORGEOUS. Manners matter. Your secret diary is a sight to behold. And hands up whose dreams are lucid AND lurid. Did I tell you that i had one the other night in which i was giving birth…to myself.

Mars is about six degrees away from a fantastique trine with Uranus, exact the week after next and one that will manifest all sorts of magical opportunities and strange synchronicity. Uranian wierding is always riddled with omens and synchronicity. Mars really revs up Uranus. A trine is considered ‘easy’.  But in the meantime, apart from that and Mercury going Direct, there really isn’t that much going on. Which is kinda nice, after all those Eclipses, Pluto Direct & Saturn-Uranus etc.

Of course, if you bung some asteroids in the mix – voila – a party.  I don’t usually work with asteroids for all manner of reasons but my idea is this: I throw some of what’s happening in asteroid-land at you & we see if they’re apt or not.

* Lilith, the Bitch-Goddess is nearly in Aquarius. Now that ought to lead to some outrageous female behaviour. Especially when she gets around to opposing Mars in Leo in November. Hot! Maybe.

* Circe is in Scorpio.  Conjunct my Midheaven, actually. It’s interesting but whenever Circe is strong in my chart, my divination (Tarot) skills intensify.

* Asteroid Lust (number 4386 if you want to play with it in the Astrodienst Extended Chart Options thingie) is on the North Node in Capricorn…Hmm. I very rarely look at this asteroid, though it DOES show up in synastry (chart comparison) between peeps who really fancy one another an awful lot. So what could Asteroid Lust conjunct the North Node mean? Lust leads you to your authentic destiny?  Lust blasts away jaded elements of  your past. Past life psych flashes via lust?

* Pandora is conjunct Jupiter. Meh. I don’t know how to interpret that so let’s free-associate. One could open up a Pandora’s Box of issues, ideas – could even be Promethean???  Isn’t there a feminist/more goddessy/less patriarchal version of the Pandora story someplace?? Like she wasn’t just nosy – she was more like Prometheus stealing fire to give to humanity? As opposed to a girl being blamed (like Eve!) for unleashing all the demons etc on humanity? So Pandora conjunct Jupiter – Jupiter amplifies whatever it’s near…Pandora cosying up to benevolent Jupiter = forgiveness/redemption for secrets?  Let’s see!

Fantastique! If I had not whizzed to Wikipedia to check Pepe Le Pew’s birth details (for a cartoon character, it is always their first appearance in media & it’s sooo accurate) I would  not have known that Johnny Depp drew upon the French skunk for his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.  Hmm.

Anyway, Pepe is known for falling inappropriately (ie; inter-species) in love and making grand gestures that are utterly at odds with the actual reality of the “relationship” in play. I mean, he is a Skunk. But he sees himself as a grand seducer in the classic tradition.

The astro, of course, fits.  Get this. He is a Capricorn (ambitious, aspires to the high life and trophy partner) and his Moon is  in Libra with Venus in Pisces. So the latter two means he is a natural romantic as well. It’s not just cynical chasing down of a “catch.” Venus in Pisces sextiles Mars in Capricorn so there’s a libido throbbing away there as well BUT the aspects I love of Pepe Le Pew’s are:

* Venus in Pisces Squares Uranus in Gemini – He’s a bit perverse & kinky. He is maybe not so mistaken after all when he goes after cats instead of skunks, his own species.

* Mercury in Saggitarius squares Jupiter in Virgo – This is such a good expression of those grandiose gestures & insane serenades he indulges in. His need for candour is hyped by O.T.T. Jupiter & the Virgoan discrimination is swamped by an overblown Mercury in Sagg.

* Moon conjunct Neptune – the perpetual dreamer. He may have extremely lucid & sensual dreams that break into his everyday reality.

He needs a very creatively fulfilling and involved job so that the fantasy element of his life can be worked out positively rather than by stalking uninterested cats and attempting to hide his true nature with copious amounts of scent.

Dear Mystic,

I am a waitress at a casino in Nevada. One night a customer heard me say something about astrology to someone and pops off with,

“I’m a Gemini. What does that mean to you?”

Without missing a beat I smiled and said,

“It means I might sleep with you but I’d never trust you.”
