Jessica & John: A Mars-Venus Case Study

No I don’t follow Jessica Simpson – I truly don’t – nor what’s his face, really.

BUT John Mayer has just done an interview with Playboy mag in which he was hysterically ranting about how good the sex with her was, using terms like “sexual napalm” and claming that if she were to charge him $10,000 a time for sex, he would start selling all his stuff to afford it, no question.

So i IMMEDIATELY thought “Mars-Venus chemistry.”  That’s when one person’s Mars is on the other person’s Venus or strongly aspecting it and they cannot keep their hands off one another. The sex is always brilliant and never mind any other compatibility indicators or – lol – lack thereof. It’s insanely hot.

I am sure we have all been there.

So i quickly checked out their charts and sure enough: her Mars at 28 Virgo is exactly conjunct his Venus. They each embody the others ideal sexual partner, super-heated chemistry and a nigh-psychic sensation of what the other person likes to see/hear/feel etc.

Mars-Venus chemistry is impossible to mistake – there is always an edge between the two people concerned and each instantly gets it & knows that it’s there. So this is a really good example of that.

Venus Into Libra…

And VOILA VENUS IN LIBRA!!!

Libra is one of the signs Venus Rules (she also rules Taurus and is Exalted in Pisces) and so the Love Goddess is thus super-well-placed in Libra…Venus in Libra as the backdrop for Mars going into Leo this weekend is just perfect. She will also linger in Libra until November 8, thus also being there when Saturn gets into Libra…let’s all Libra-out. Symmetry! Skincare! Scent! Diplomacy! Balance! Yin! Yang!

Venus is also now applying hard to a square with Pluto – given that this is a Dark Moon, you don’t want to get swept up in a lower expression of Venus-Pluto. Try not to succumb to vengeful thinking, stalkery bitcherel and, well, you know the drill. Don’t you?

Venus in Libra will feel easier than Venus in Virgo. We love Virgos but Virgo is the sign opposite to Pisces, in which Venus is Exalted. And of course, Mars is in Cancer, opposite to Capricorn, the sign in which HE is exalted. So both Venus and Mars – by the weekend – are in signs that they are WAY more happier and productive in. This means relationships come into being and/or sort themselves out more easily. The following signs are also far more at ease in their own skin & world: Aries, Taurus, Leo, Libra, Scorpio, Pisces…But everyone will feel the shift…

Saturn Is Exalted In Libra And So Are You…

Only 51 more days before Saturn scoots out of Virgo and into Libra.

And guess what? Saturn LOVES to be in Libra. Saturn is EXALTED in Libra and so shall you be where-ever you have early Libra in your chart. Saturn will function more elegantly – less neurotic – in Libra.

I have a theory that the Saturn in Libra era (from October 30 until late 2012, with a little break from April – July 2010 when Saturn retrogrades back into late Virgo) will manifest as a new Free Love paradigm. A lot more breezily organised arrangements, less angst. The Scorpio Sex Academic has many a suitor at the moment but she is spending time that should be spent preparing a major lecture looking at the Madam Vivien gallery.  It is thought-provoking for sure.

One little thing about the Saturn into Libra, exalted & all, situation. It very quickly gets to squaring Pluto. Yah. It was a Saturn-Pluto opposition that was the signature of September 2001, if you recall all that. Freak not but it will a mega-strong test of just how the economic recovery (?) is shaping up as well as a ’show’ of where Plutonic evolution is set to favour society…That’s in late Nov. Astro-Compatibility: Taurus & Saggo

Of all the supposedly “incompatible” Sun Sign pairings, I think Taurus-Sagg is the least common.  Kataka with Aquarius is surprisingly frequent. Ages ago, when i was doing a Sun Sign book and had to find celebrity couples as an example of each possibility, i went batso trying to find a Taurus-Sagg example.

Where these two DO get along fabulously is when it comes to hedonism – Sagg is ruled by Jupiter and Taurus by Venus. Sagg loves the Taurean ability to party. Taurus gets off on the Saggability to max anything out. Potential merde; Sagittarian candour gives tactful Taurus the total shits. Taurean intransigence is totally alien to Sagg & not in a good ‘oh-wow-how-i-love-t0-experience-different-cultures’ alien way.

Saggo genuinely does not give a damn for social mores & the dominant cultural values. Taurus SO does. These two can get along well if you’re looking at a Country Sagg & an Eco or Hippy Taurus. But Taurus sinking into the couch for the evening with a grateful sigh of transcendental bliss whilst Sagg gets set to SCREAM the house down with boredom or is already online researching the next plane trip outta there is not so strong. Sagg likes to do everything fast & move quickly on – the River Of Life & all that. Taurus thinks this is actually a form of personality disorder…

I did used to have neighbours who were a Taurus-Sagg couple & they seemed to work really well together. She-Saggo was an Air Hostess & He-Taurus a personal trainer. So he liked to stick to a rigid but rewarding ritual that would only be thrown off (with pleasure) when she was home, which seemed to be every three weeks ago. But i gather he eventually asked her to be more grounded, she arced up and it was off.

Lol, I actually have not drawn any especially strong conclusions from the previous Sun Sign Query Du Jours

I need a keen astrological intern to trawl through in search of firm conclusions.

Anyway, this query ought to bring up some coherent data…not! No, am sure it will.

Okay, leaving aside hideous and officially abusive etc relationships – WITH WHICH SUN SIGN DID YOU HAVE YOUR WEIRDEST LOVE AFFAIR AND/OR DATE?   I went out with a Gemini Screenplay writer who had a phobia of women’s orgasms. I am for real. A phobia. And he had National Geographic & social anthopology style articles to rationalise the fear.

Something to do with them serving no evolutionary purpose. I know. A shocker. To be fair to Gemini men, i think this one had severe Venus squares. Then again, i have never been out with a man who did NOT have Venus square Saturn, sigh. And MY Venus is so heavenly exalted; in Pisces, conjunct Chiron, 2nd house, trine Neptune, sextile Jupiter…

Anyway, will be interested to read thy comments – no names, no cussing & let’s see if a coherent theme develops.

George & Fatima Up A Tree?

Have just been reading this fantastic Telegraph article re the possible romance between George Clooney & Fatima Bhutto.

“…Fresh from an ill-fated entanglement with a Las Vegas cocktail waitress, George Clooney, Hollywood’s Armani-suited Renaissance Man-on-call, is reported to have fallen for 26-year-old Fatima Bhutto, the new star of Pakistan’s greatest political dynasty. Across the sub-continent the excitement spread like Valentine’s Weekend wildfire. And why not? George is radical, Fatima is chic. It has to work out this time….”

Oddly enough, having adored Clooney in a number of movies (Intolerable Cruelty, Oceans 11, Three Kings & even One Fine Day) I actually got a bit sick of the sight of him last year. Prob just over-exposure, a bit like every mag having Kate Hudson on the cover at the moment and more or less the same article re her fabulosity.  But GC is incredible & apart from her being gorgeous & about 20 years younger than him, Ms Bhutto – the neice of Benazir – would seem to be a really interesting choice of would-be girlfriend for him. She, apparently, is not so keen because of the age gap & her fairly intense concerns in Pakistan.

And, looking at the astro between them, i wondered if she had an astrologer run the charts & then flipped. I mean really. With no time of birth for her (May 29 1982) it’s hard to be definitive about this but still…A few highlights. Or maybe lowlights.

George Clooney is a Taurus (Sun conjunct Mercury) with Pisces Rising and Moon-Saturn in Capricorn. That Moon-Saturn is a very sombre position & despite his debonair aura, that denotes a person who is very careful/conservative with giving his heart & most likely with good reason. Early hurt etc etc.Ms Bhutto is an early Gemini with Moon in Leo & we don’t know the rising due to no time. Her Venus in Aries squares (challenging) his sensitive Moon-Saturn in Capricorn combo. Her Pluto in Libra squares that Moon-Saturn in Capricorn combo. Both have Venus in Aries but not conjunct.

So that’s like a kind of similarity. But then her Saturn in Libra opposes his Venus. Her Jupiter squares his Jupiter. Her Sun squares his Chiron. Oh – a nice one – her Sun in Gemini trines his Jupiter in Aquarius. Her Uranus squares his Pisces Ascendent. Her Sun squares his Pisces Ascendent. This is a LOT of squares – ie; challenges -  & that is just from a cursory glance.

Some squares between charts are good. They are all about growth. And you certainly know when the other person’s in the room. But too many makes for just old-fashioned they-get-on-your-nerves-ishness. Of course, if they did manage to overcome some of the obstacles between them, doesn’t this mean George Clooney could one day be first “lady” of Pakistan? Or first man? And would it help or hinder U.S-Pakistani relations?

Oh and note that Saturn has just entered George Clooney’s 7th house for the first time in 29 years. So he is suddenly incapable of casual relationships. It would have to either be a significant partnership (apparently with some geopolitical impact as well, as he is such an  O.T.T. show-off with his cute little Mars at Zero degrees of Leo) or nothing-at-all. She is his Saturn-in-the-7th house manifestation. And maybe the Saturnine lesson would be a woman he cannot have…I am not generally judgemental re age gaps but i do think it is easier if both parties are either pre or post Saturn Return. It makes SUCH a difference.

Then again, she is having her Saturn Return in 2011 & with Saturn opposing her natal Venus shortly thereafter, reflecting a challenging & intense relationship most likely with an older person.

Off and on i do internet dating on a well known site. A while ago i checked out the profile of a chap . He was a serious outdoorsy looking Sagittarian in a flak jacket, set against a river.  However, at the bottom of his profile, it said: ‘No Cancerians’, invoking images of those old signs that used to prohibit certain types of people and dogs.  How could my co-moon girls’ magic not worked? And could they have caused him so much grief?!

How hilarious. Please can you e-mail him, pretending to be another out-doorsy Saggo?  Go on a date – something like the pair of you mountain biking along a river or climbing K2 or something else suitably Saggittarian and insane – yes? And then you FLUSH HIM OUT…Say, “so why do you say you don’t like Cancerians?” You could maybe wait until he was unbearably into you before confessing?

Or, put in your own ad and alter it to say NO SAGITTARIAN MEN IN FLAK JACKETS & see if he bites?  Did you quite like the look of him, apart from him having banned your sign? Also, is a flak jacket like what you wear in a war zone? Is he a foreign correspondent? Or is the flak jacket just to protect against Cancerian females?

Venus In Aries

Aside from a little retrograde detour back into lovely Pisces, Venus will be in Aries from Feb to June! This is a long transit of Venus and it will be fun! Aries will get to be the Go-To It People of immense sexual charisma & magnetism. They will be insufferably up themselves. I am already thinking re how i can use this to my advantage with my Ramzilla Ex. He will be gloating, I know it. He will already be unspeakably bloated with flattery so my hyper-gush will be less effective than usual.  If you are an Aries, scrub up and get prepped to ponce out from Feb to get whatever it is you want.

Aries is, of course, the sign of the Warrior and Venus is the Goddess of Love. Hence my referencing Xena the Warrior Princess above.  From my new book:

“this year’s retro means that Venus will be in Aries from February 3 until June 6. A bloody long stay for the Goddess of Love in the sign of machismo and derring-do. Venus will be Aries, eternally her love in myth. Women will be more Amazonian and assertive, probably issueing forth ultimatums and demands all over the shop.

But peeps, it’s very much game on in relationships.  For now, though Venus is still in Pisces, gliding smoothly toward a conjunction with Uranus on the 22nd…which will be when all the Weirding gets going & I have a date with The New Uranian on a night when the Moon is in Virgo. How the hell did i let that happen??? And, annoyingly, I deleted his chart in a snit before Xmas and so i can’t even gaze at it look at mitigating factors for the Moon in Virgo…Damn. All i remember is his Mars/Moon on my Moon.

And I have to telephone Not-The-Typical-Virgo at her new haute corp gig in Canberra to drop the news that she’s got Saturn on her Sun on and off for much of this year. Hence her suddenly feeling “old and bitched up,” the poor thing. If you are likewise born around the Sept 7 to 16 date (or March 7 to 16) then you’re smack bang in the middle of the Saturn-Uranus opposition. It’s personal to you. One reality is constricting but what will it cost to win your freedom???
