Sexy Druid Warriors always aid one’s interest in ye olde Celtic practices.

Celtic Astrology is fascinating, of course, but like Geomancy (the Celtic version of Feng Shui) not nearly enough is known about it, thanks to the persecution and genocide of the Pagans.

It has it’s own Zodiac & we’re all trees! I think it’s beautiful, though sadly incomplete…We are soon in the time of the Hazel Tree:

“20 July – 16 August

The Hazel was the tree of wisdom and it was a crime punishable by death to fell one. It was thought magical skills and knowledge could be gained from eating Hazel nuts. Hazel people are artistic. They have lively, analytical minds and make inspiring teachers. Imaginative, they are radical and idealistic thinkers.

The Ruling Deity – The Sea God Manannan Mac Lir, a master of disguise, rules this sign.

The Druic Animal – Salmon – To the Celts, the Salmon is the oldest and wisest animal, symbolizing inspiration – Hazels need to express their creativity or they can become morbid and introspective

Planetary Ruler – Mercury

Ogham Word – Coll”

YOU can go read the rest at the above Celtic Astro link. Or just Google but be aware that peeps bicker a LOT over Celtic Astrology. And if you click on the witch-burning link, that damned book (Malleus Malificarum) was like a best-seller. Can you believe it? I read the whole thing one go on a day long ago in a sterile but comforting university library & found it so scary. It’s so dry and legal. But imagine your local council using it as their handbook. I had to keep looking up to remind myself that i was surrounded by trees, freedom, laws and relaxed students of all races & sexual identity, religion et al.

And what Tree are U? Does it FIT?

Ingres – The Dream Of Ossian

Imagine Mars as a spunky warrior archetype having to slow his brisk march down to an amble through Aquarius. His favoured soundtrack of (let’s say) Ride Of The Valkyries switched to something complicated, jazzy and intellectual. Instinct, guts and stamina declared 2nd rate to the cerebal ponderings of our Aquarius.  Mars is not so happy in Aquarius but the war-lordly one (ruler of soldiers, sports-folk, athletes, crusaders, whistle-blowers, Arieans, Scorps heated lovers, men and fighters of all persuasion)  will loathe it even more having to swim through Pisces from mid-March.

What is there to look forward to for Mars??? Mars will travel through Aries (yay) from late April, then there will be a stay in at-least-shit-gets-done truculent Taurus, some skitzing about in Gemini (“I said I’d what?) an unspeakable trip thru emo-crabby Cancer and then – bliss – months and months in Leo. Yes, due a retrograde Mars is going to be in Leo for yonks.

But first – this Friday  and then next week – Mars meets Chiron and Neptune.  Chiron on the Friday & Neptune on the Sunday – the latter colouring the weekend. Mars & Chiron have been conjoining every second March (ish) for a while.  Mars is the Warrior & Chiron the Sacred Sage who trained warriors. He is about maverick courage. So this conjunction is a fantastic opportunity for flair to be added into your current quest, whether it be something high-faluting, a fitness jag or wilful effort to get over something/someone.

Think the blessing of sudden wisdom and/or an unexpected but good development. It also starts a new cycle of courage & growth. Think bk to March 2003, 2005 and 2007 for clues.

Mars-Neptune is something else again. It colours the whole weekend. It can be Mars energy stimulating visionary creative energy, dreams and spiritual awareness….Very Aragorn with Gandalf in vibe.

Or Mars with Neptune can be hell-bent dipsomania jag compleat with cuckoo tequila-texting, stupid ideas and stream-of-consciousness crap scrawled on napkins…Remember that as you’re scheduling in your Sat nite, especially with retro-Venus evoking the ghosts of Ex-lovers & the Full Moon provoking some version of rebellion.  So…Mars-Neptune can also be this…
