As an invisible, mega-potent & magic substance, perfume comes under the astrological domain of Neptune. It’s interesting that the passage of Neptune through the hardcore sign of Capricorn (1984 to 1998) coincided with a never-before-seen tweak of most perfumes. Scents that were comprised of essential oils of Rose & Flowers – at least in part – were reformulated to be more in line with the dictates of economic rationalism. Some of them even began to smell more like their own cheap imitators.

You know the pharmacy knock-offs – “If you Like Eternity…You’ll Love Forever…” It’s not good when you cannot tell them apart. I’d read an article about how Aerin Lauder was basically like some sort of a saint for a scent she created Amber-Ylang-Ylang and I’m ylang-ylang mad. I sprinkle the real stuff everywhere and am convinced it’s enchanted. So I spotted this new Estee Lauder fragrance whilst ambling through a department store the other day and avidly sprayed it all over the shop. Okay, on my wrist.

At first, it smelled divine. Yes – ylang-ylang and yes, something ambery….A sensual and divine reek, like being enveloped in a gracious and feminine aura of extra strength & inspiration…how scent should be. But YICK. Within half an hour it had dried down into something that was like the bog freshener used in those service station lavatories. And so many of them DO smell like effing fly spray.

I think, as Pluto goes over the Capricorny ground covered by Neptune in the mid-80s, we’re seeing more and more articles like these about how – for instance – fragrances are 95% petrochemical & that 75% of women are allergic to them…And neurotoxic??? Yick…I love perfume so much but am resigning myself to reeking like a haute (hopefully) hippy for the time being…

Or am i just being over-sensitive due to my Neptune Moon transit???

Yes, it’s really hard to conspiracy theorize when Area 51 is on Google Street View, sigh. Conspiracy theories got real big when Pluto was in Scorpio (early 80s to mid-90s) and then again after Saturn opposed Pluto – that was in late 2001…I would probably be more interested in Conspiracy Theories if the people putting them forward were not so, um, subjective and so often into demonising a particular group of peeps.

Both my grandfathers were Freemasons and i tried SO hard to elicit fabulous occult info but honestly, their branches at least seemed to be mostly about drinking.  I do find it funny/weird that in a post referring to the sort of e-mails i never answer, i referred to (jokingly) “the Impending-Shitfeast-Of-Doom-Laden-Crap-Hell that will most likely occur by next Wednesday/the Galactic Centre conjoining Arcturus” and the keywords Impending Shitfeast Of Doom etc have been taken and linked to be several conspiracy sites. As in they think I GET IT!  Only I don’t.

Is there ONE unified Conspiracy Theory of all???  I was looking for pics of Ishtar (the Aphrodite of Ancient Babylon) a while ago & found this fabulously cuckoo site that had pix of Ishtar & somehow linked her in with US President Obama AND that the Statue of Liberty is actually a depiction of the Sun Goddess….All i could think was ‘awesome’ but the person whose site it was was not at ALL happy with the situation as he perceived it and then got overwrought/more stoned and went on to deem Obama & family as Alien-Lizard-like creatures.  Which SO contradicts the Babylon link…

I thought the whole Inner Child seemed to erupt in the 90s but apparently it emerged in the 70s. I think i did one session with someone re it once & it was surprisingly healing, although v.easy to wallow, I imagine, if you wanted to. It was to do with something traumatic & the therapist got me to go back and talk to myself as a five year old etc etc. Comfortingly. Not just nattering. Not-The-Typical-Virgo was doing Self-Parenting Workshops at the same time & we  hung a lot at the pub in Bondi, discussing our findings.

The concept may have slunk from favour now but I thought it interesting that Carl Jung (a multiple Leo) thought of it as the Divine Child & like this amazing golden creature within, whom we could access to be more creative and spontaneous. A sort of invincible summer vibe. But John Brawshaw – a Cancerian and arguably the most prolific/best known of all the Inner Childish authors – thought it nearly always “wounded” and in need of rescue. Etc. Yes, I KNOW that is a massive generalised summary.

I know Louise Hay (a Libran!) is totally into it but that Dr Phil – a Virgo – does not apparently believe in Inner Child work. With the obvious disclaimer, that anyone with a mental illness should seek professional help and not be stuffing around on this site, can we please do Moon in Scorp amateur shrinking & Inner Child theory? Is it still valid, was it ever & do any of you have this consciousness.

BTW, i only watch it at the gym but i think Dr Phil is sooo Virgo and he should go head-to-head with Louise Hay in all her flowery uber-euphemistic ‘everything i eat turns to health & beauty’ glory. I love her but seriously, wouldn’t a debate between those two be FUN television. The person with the prob could sit between them as they fight it out for the best “solution.”
