Long before Aquarius became known as the Water-Bearer, Aquarius was an Angel and/or Hebe…the Goddess of Youth and cup-bearer to the Gods.

According to this exhaustive list of Angels (Hebrew-Kabbalah based) the angels OF Aquarius are Ausiel, Archer and Ssakmakiel.

I don’t go much for angels as, according to this world-view, Venus-Aphrodite-Ishtar-Innana-Frida as in the original Goddess Of Love Et Al becomes Lucifer and/or the Angel of the Dawn (morning star Venus is named Venus Lucifer) and a whole host of strange, tres-negative manifestations.

But for some reason i love the idea of Aquarius as an Angel…And you?

The age-old Venus, Lucifer, Angel & Demon conundrum is actually referenced quite nicely in the Givenchy-Uma Thurman ad for their scent:

Today is the birthday of Brigitte Helm, star of the sensational 1920s movie Metropolis…

It was released on January 10 1927, with the interesting astro-signature of Jupiter opposite Neptune in Leo, Uranus in Pisces quincunxing the Neptune in Leo. Apt for a sci-fi masterpiece with massive socio-cultural import but that would take many decades to be fully appreciated…no?

Does anyone else love this movie?

Note also how fabulous Neptune in Leo – 1915 to 1929 – was for cinema? All those stars born.

Shamanic EVERYTHING seems to be back in trend again.

I don’t really get it although i saw a Shaman a few years ago who did all this stuff and first I was lying there thinking more or less ‘what a load of crap’ as he was just waving around a sage stick and banging the Tibetan bells…Then i felt my chest tighten and he pulled this orb of blackness out from my belly. I saw it. And once it was gone, i felt immense relief and way lighter. It was weird, he was Native American and popped into the back of this strange little soap shop near me and then he was gone the next week.

And then once i had a dream SO weird that this Jungian astrologer friend of mine in the States said it was a Shamanic initiation. I dreamed/saw that a giant black raven got into bed with me and put his/her claw around my wrist and looked me in the eye. THAT was, of course, Neptune on my Ascendent. Always a fun transit for lucid/lurid dreaming.

But now everyone’s doing Shamanic stuff. I half expect to see a sign saying “Shamanic Tax Agent” soon or “Shamanic Dry Cleaners.”

Hands up who knows anything about Shamanic healing or who does it?

I just found this interesting looking Shamanic Astrology book that says, actually, each sign of the Zodiac has a spirit animal assigned to it – quite different from the trad astro symbol. What do you think of these?

Aries – Falcon

Taurus – Beaver

Gemini – Deer

Kataka/Cancer – Woodpecker

Leo – Salmon

Virgo – Brown Bear

Libra – Raven

Scorpio – Snake

Sagittarius – Owl

Capricorn – Snow Goose

Aquarius – Otter

Pisces – Wolf

I can just see Aquarius hitting the roof at being deemed Otter and immediately moving to form a new Shamanic cult in which they are the rare Fire Eagle or something. Not so sure that Woodpecker fits Cancerians either. Woodpeckers seem more Gemini, do they not? Thoughts?

I felt the urge to get a Hematite bracelet in February – around about when i wanted an Ankh…something is up – and it’s always good to follow those callings…no?

Hematite is just iron oxide – I don’t think it’s even considered semi-precious, my bracelet cost just $25.  So it’s demi-precious or something. But it is magic.

Hematite was adored in Ancient Babylon and Egypt, where they used it to fend off curses & negative projections. If someone is thinking merde about you or wishing you ill, hematite is said to reflect it back. It’s credited with dragging out the emotional source of illness, being grounding and aiding in psychic powers.

Think of it for  help when you feel drained and for when you want, lol, an Iron Will.

It’s a very Saturn-Plutonic stone.

I am re-posting this from last year FYI…

Sooo, it’s St Patricks Day again.

I don’t have any Irish blood – the love of potatoes must come purely from the German ancestry – but St Ps day is interesting.

There apparently was not one actual St Patrick & the “driving of the snakes” from Ireland was totally a metaphor for the Christian conquest of Paganism…There is loads re it on the web…

Briefly, the shamrock was apparently a symbol of the triple goddess and pagans often wear or decorate with snakes on St Ps day as a quiet little up yours.

These days are also ancient festivals of Dionysus….& Bacchus

So, it seems clear – wear something with Snakes on it to honour the poor persecuted Pagans of yore and drink wine to honour Bacchus and Dionysus. If you don’t drink, you can just do the over the top libidinal aspects of Dionysus and Co.

The Chariot is one of my favourite Tarot cards.

Whenever it comes up, it means that you’re moving on, making speedy progress and doing it in style, with relative ease. I love it when it pops up in my Flash Tarot readings because though it’s a card of change, it always feels sort of luxurious, dignified & right. Plus the Chariot tends to manifest quickly…Like trudging around a wet roadside, no means of transport outta there & suddenly – voomp – there is the Chariot, a speedy, luxurious and relatively easy means out of the swamp-like place. Depending on the cards around it, it can also indicate that something suddenly picks up and moves along more quickly than you would otherwise expect. A promotion, the deepening of a bond, your business…It’s got loads more esoteric meanings too…

“…In 1939 Breton was mobilized as a doctor, and attended a school for pilots in Poitiers. Peret had joined his regiment, but would soon be imprisoned in Rennes for anti-military Trotskyist propaganda within the army . . . At the time of the armistice, and exodus, Ernst and Bellmer being German were taken to Le Camp des Milles. The other Surrealists met at the Air-Bel residence near Marseilles (in the “Free Zone”) after their discharge. They would remain housed there during the winter of 1940-41, taken care of by an American committee for aid to intellectuals, the Emergency Rescue Committee. Breton, Char, Dominguez, Brauner, Ernst, Herold, Lam, Masson, Peret would kill time by playing cards — Tarot, “the Game of Marseille.”

Hey you gather that the Aries Moon is good for grandiose goal-setting???

What is your Year of the Tiger resolution?  Where are you going to be more fierce?

The Auspicious Aqua-Weirding that has been strong since last May is now ebbing away for the moment but it’s thankfully back in July to accompany us for the next Saturn-Pluto Square.

There should have been one magical happening/insight/concept over the last few weeks. Something Haute Aquarius, hi-Qi, redolent with optimistic faith and healing…

Glomp onto it now. Define it. Own it. The atmosphere gets more Saturnine over March as Saturn backs into another (sigh) opposition with Uranus.

If you’re interested, Uranus rules Aquarius so the major insights etc of this past few weeks helps with the Saturn-Uranus challenges and reconfigurations starting soon…

Symphony Of Science

YOU may have seen this but i just discovered it & it’s so beautiful for the Chiron-Neptune Conjunction.

Carl Sagan was a multiple conjunct Scorpio:  Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Sun all in Scorpio AND a tight Mars Neptune conjunction in Virgo. So a mega-haute Neptunian, mining the mysteries of other worlds and alternative dimensions. As some of you know, not every Mars Neptune conjunction manifests so beautifully. In fact, especially in a man, it’s one of THE potentially gaga aspects to watch for. But not here.

Carl Sagan’s Uranus was in late Aries conjunct the Mars of Stephen Hawking (also featured in this clip) which is kinda cool. Hawking has Saturn conjunct Uranus – amazing blend of innovation with structure. V.appropriate for someone creating a whole new structure of science. AND, astro-fiends will find this interesting, Hawking has Moon-Neptune in Virgo.

So two amazing sci-brains with very strong Neptunian signatures all over their charts…Yes Uranus too but Neptune is strong for each of them. I love that. Pragmatic visionaries.

The Japanese phrase Koi No Yoken apparently refers to the sensing of an impending love affair: perhaps at first meeting or maybe just a feeling that you are about to encounter someone out of the norm. It’s v.much of the now as Venus sextiles Pluto on the eve of a magical conjunction between Chiron & Neptune.

Anyone with even a nano of intuitive brain cells is a sex-psychic this week. Ditto shamanic healer of ancient love wounds and all.

So, who is  sensing what? And how fab is the combo of Venus-Pluto AND haute-minded Aquarian weirding.  Passionate AND intellectual. We should operate a hotline or something.

And spider dreaming? Common at the moment. Why? No idea. Last night i woke up to distant thunder & rain, looked out the window and there was a giant classic mandala style cobweb glistening in the light from a streetlamp. Huge, like going between the houses and half way across the road huge. Still don’t know if i dreamed it or not but I’m taking it as a good omen.
