Auspicious Goldfish – Lucy Deslandes

Monthly Flying Stars 6th March – 4th April

Monthly energies can be a trigger that may lead to an increase in certain types of experiences. If you spend long periods of time in an area such as working, sleeping or your entrance is located in a particular sector have a look below and see if you experience any of the issues mentioned below.  If so you may want to try a remedy and see if that helps to harmonise things. Also just thought I’d mention that those who are born in the year of the monkey may be able to breathe a sigh of relief now February is over – it was definitely a challenging one!

EAST – The monthly energy is great as it represents fame and $$$$ and coupled with the annual energy of 2010 it is great. If your office or front entrance is located in this area you may find more opportunities to make money coming your way this month so take advantage of them.

SOUTH EAST – Success and promotion are signals of the monthly energy residing in the South East however combined with the annual energy of 2010 it can signify fire hazard – so just be extra cautious if your kitchen is located here. It can also trigger some flirtation so you may be in some luck if your bedroom is located in the South east!

SOUTH – This month the most challenging energy flies into the South and coupled with the annual energy of 2010 can indicate money problems. You can place a metal wind chime in the South to help harmonise the energy or some metal bells on a door in this sector.

SOUTH WEST – If you have a dining room or kitchen in the South west be careful of food poisoning, digestive and/or bowl problems. You may also problems with the mouth which could manifest as ulcers, teeth problems OR it could be communication problems. You should already have your wind chime up for the annual energy – not a great space to spend time in.

WEST – This combo can indicate moving away – so if you have a teenager’s bedroom in this area they may start contemplating moving out! It also signifies an increased risk of conflicts and arguments……maybe over the moving out thing? You say go, they say no LOL.

NORTH WEST – If you spend a lot of time in the North west or your front entrance is here, be careful of saying foolish things, think before you speak! The visiting energy also signifies sickness so would be worthwhile placing a calabash or six Chinese coins tied with red in this area.

NORTH – Quite neutral energies here so it is extra, extra important that you keep this area both inside and outside the house beautiful and free of clutter, otherwise you may find you experience problems with authorities such as a parking fine.

NORTH EAST – The annual sickness energy is here so you should have placed a calabash or six Chinese coins tied with red in this sector for the entire year. The monthly energy can trigger problems between the dominant female of the house and the mother in law! This could then lead to relationship problems so de-clutter this area, especially if in the bedroom!

Important Note: These are monthly Feng Shui energies & this is general Feng Shui advice, without – obviously – taking into account your unique living situation.  Ideally, one has one’s house’s base Feng Shui done first.

Monthly Flying Stars 7th December – 4th January

Monthly energies can be a trigger that may lead to an increase in certain types of experiences. If you spend long periods of time in an area such as working, sleeping or your entrance is located in a particular sector have a look below and see if you experience any of the issues mentioned below.  If so you may want to try a remedy and see if that helps to harmonise things.

SOUTH EAST – Arguing more? Problems with contracts? Some bright red here can work well such as a red vase or lamp. Don’t go overboard as we don’t want to activate any of your homes challenging energies.

SOUTH – Can’t find the perfect partner? Give the South sector a good clearing out and make the area as beautiful as possible. If your entrance is here you may find an improvement in opportunities to make money this month.

SOUTH WEST – Getting parking fines or having issues with authorities? Then give this area a good clutter clear.

WEST – Have you or your finances been sick more than usual this year? If you’re bedroom or main entrance is in the west that could be your problem. Place a brass calabash here as it will help to absorb this particular sickness energy. Given the monthly energy you may find a bit of reprieve in December.

NORTH WEST – The challenging 5 monthly star flies into the North West for December which could signify problems with the head or kidneys especially if your bedroom is here so placing the sound of metal here works well. This could be metal bells on a door or metallic ornaments.

NORTH – The energy in the north is challenging this year and the monthly energy feeds this so be careful if sleeping in this area of obstacles and general challenges. The sound of metal works well or a brass pagoda can be placed here.

NORTH EAST – Theft may be an issue so ensure your doors and windows are secure in this area of the house and a splash of red will help harmonise this energy.

EAST – Think before you speak – communication may be a problem and this is enhanced this month. If you find you are experience any digestive problems place a brass calabash in this area for the month of December

Yes, Saturn is squaring Pluto and it is SO unspeakably existential as referred to below but – as with any Dark Moon – some respite is to be found in primordial sifting, sorting and decluttering. Plus, because this is in Libra, think a la swooping on your beauty cabinet.

The bathroom is symbolically the domain of our Lady Venus – is yours a haven of beauty, harmony & order? Do you have a coherent skincare regime? It need not be something ludicrously o.t.t. Even just fresh new face-washers folded & awaiting your diligence can feel divine. That + you editing and discarding.

Venus – ruler of the Dark Moon – is of course in Scorpio and moving to square Mars + everything in Aquarius & probably some stray crazy asteroids just for good effect. So if a savage purge of potentially bacteria-infested mascaras, serums that on second-thought are stupid and the lipstick museum (clutter with purchase anyone?) don’t do it for you – get into some Scorped up Venusian culling of the evidence of ANY ex.

Okay, it’s tricky when you have darling children with them but I am not talking about that. You can do the old writing-them-a-letter ritual & then  you burn it. Note – i said burn, not send. You can cease hanging on to memorabilia or a symbol of hope that he/she/it may one day re-detour back into your lovely orbit. You can fix the Feng Shui, do a spell or see a Shaman to get the ‘cords’ cut. Mugwort smudged is a fantastic Dark Moonie thing to do.

Just remember: Libra is the sign of Balance & Beauty, Relationships and Tranquil Diplomacy. If you are to embody the latter, at least, use the power of the Dark Moon + Venus in Scorpio…And as it is the Dark of the Moon right before a Phoenix Moon in Scorpio – you may want to look at this Hecate post again.

Note: It is not a fantastic time for a first date nor to buy beauty products/have procedures done that are hard to change back. And that is my understatement du jour.

“The Kitchen Witch’s Creed

In this pot, I stir to the sun ?An’ follow the rule of harming none.

Banishment of bane when goin’ winddershins; ?An’ with water and salte negativity is cleansed.

Household duties are more than chores, ?Magick abounds when mopping floors.

With this broom, I do sweep ?To clean my house and safely keep.

Marigold, Basil, Thyme and Yarrow ?My spell is cast for a better tomorrow.

Lemons for joy and apples for health, ?The power within brings great wealth.

And, in this kitch I do pray ?To truly walk the Witches Way…”

O i do so love sacred house cleaning, witchy herbs et al & this creed is so cool – does anyone know where it comes from?

And what that black scorp-fish thing is on the floor of the witch-modelle might be and hands up who knows which ritual a lit red candle is required for when one is already poised quite precariously on the rim of an empty cauldron?

Plus, I only just noticed this -who says Mercury in Aries can’t be thick on occasion- is it her leg or her cauldron that is chained up???  Are the art directors seriously so sleazy that they’d either suspect their p.a.s of ripping off their crap cauldron, her of running off or needing to add b/d refs to an already suss large red candle scenario?

The Peachblossom Remedy is one of the most notorious in Feng Shui.

Why? Because it’s tremendously effective at attracting love/lust  but you really should not set it up sans having a proper Feng Shui consult first. Also, it is renowned for bringing in suitors but not necessarily what my Feng Shui Master calls a “quality relationship.” And it’s probably best to also ensure your bed direction is correct as well. So whilst I totally get all this and recommend peeps fix all the Feng Shui/geomancy/uncluttering before activating this, the Peachblossom Remedy is helpfully online here.

If anyone wants to give it a bash & then blog it in the comments stream, it would be VERY interesting. I put mine up the other month but had to take it down I was too busy to deal with the phone calls & requests for “dates.” It totally works but that “quality” provisio is accurate. I love Feng Shui. I often muse about doing a service where I go to someone’s house and skilfully unclutter etc it for them but nobody would let me be ruthless enough, I know it.

Another interesting romance ritual to do is to get the moment of your Venus Return – it is like Saturn Return but much more common and pleasurable. Your Venus Return is when Venus – Goddess of Love, Beauty, Sexual Rapture et al – gets to the same position she was at when you were born. You light a pink candle & do various other things. But you need to either be an astro-fiend, an ephemeris whiz or get an Astro-Query to figure it. If you want to meet someone amazing, it’s a fantastic date to go out on. Sunrise on a Friday is also lucky lovewise and good for Venus Rituals if you don’t know your Venus Return date AND when Mars is on your Venus – about once every two years as well.

The fabulously named Nux Vomica is the homeopathic hangover remedy. It is actually (heavily diluted)  strychnine which sounds slightly bats unless you grok homeopathy. I mean my constitutional remedy is diluted snake venom; Lachesis. Which always perks me up real fast.

Okay, I am NOT a homeopath & only use the Nux for really grotty morning-afters but the Nux Vomica personality type – as you will see from the links -  is a shocker. Still, short of never doing anything over-indulgent again, Nux Vom is an essential bathroom cupboard standby. A classically trained English homeopath once told me it was stockpiled by the Royal Family.

There is a v.easy to peruse article on it here.  The above link is way more thorough & scary to read, as the full-on homeopathic materia medicias tend to be. Also, I don’t know how exactly it does it but it seems to alleviate the psych0-mental symptoms of a hangover as well.

arthur-rackham-titania-sleepingArthur Rackham – Titania Sleeping…

Thyme is antiseptic, antibiotic & apparently the main ingredient in Listerine. You can make your own really cool mouthwash by bunging Thyme essential oil in some water…Not too much as it is insanely strong. The Ancient Romans & Greeks said it bestowed Courage.

It’s a herb of Mercury & Venus so good for clarity in love. They say that, in dream pillows, it wards off nightmares but I have not tried that yet. Maybe as an adjunct to the mugwort?

It’s Za’atar in Arabic & i think they ground it up with nuts as sort of an aromatic between courses thingie?

It’s obviously a major culinary herb all over the place but what i really like about Thyme is that it is said to attract fairies to your garden. Titania, the Fairy Queen, sleeps on a bed of Wild Thyme. I know it is Thyme not Time but i love the concept of ‘wild time’ too. Also, if you drink Thyme tea, it apparently means you can see fairies all of a sudden. Plus, like sage, it would  help a sore throat.

Zero Degrees of Cancer is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere & the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. The former is Litha and the latter Yule. The shortest and the longest nights of the year respectively.

Los Angeles: Saturday 20th Summer Solstice at 22.46

New York: Sunday 21st Summer Solstice at 1.46 am

London: Sunday 21st Summer Solstice at 6.46 am

Sydney: Sunday 21st Winter Solstice at 15.46

They are great Pagan turning-points & the time when the veils between the worlds thin so that your perceptions are amped right up. Ghosts too, obviously.  But this post is actually about the Book of the Shadows – an old name given to the book that YOU write, entirely for yourself about any occult interests you may have.

Basically it is a journal in which you record dreams, your thoughts re dreams, psychic flashes, the results of Tarot card readings & then later – a follow up analysis, astrological ideas and predictions, Feng Shui notes, mensturation dates if you like, your moods, essential oil & herbal potion recipes…all things magic. It is a fantastic aid in learning astrology as you can note down events & emotions around certain astrological events (such as your Venus Return or this weekend’s Mars-Venus conjunction) and compare it with what you predicted would occur.

It’s a good idea, i.m.o. to get a beautiful & ornate book – unless you are worried it will be read by another, in which case disguise/hide it. It’s most fascinating to read through a few months later & realise just how stunningly accurate dreams et al can be, even though the message may seem too esoteric or just irrelevant at the time. By realising and better understanding how the cosmos/your subliminal mind talks to you, you develop a beautiful style of magical thinking.

Personally, i destroy my old ones, once i have grokked the info within but other peeps keep theirs & make them more like recipe/spell/wisdom books…perhaps to pass on later.

BTW: the Pentagram/Pentacle is just an ancient symbol of Venus/Aphrodite/Ishtar/Oshun

cleaning

I blame my Mars in Virgo but I love cleaning.  Or my umpteen planets in Pisces? Yes, Pisces. And the people I know are neatly divided into two camps:

Group One:

Those who loathe cleaning, bitch entertainingly about hating it, dread it and/or have even mounted a fairly spirited feminist argument against it. eg; that it saps their creativity.

Group Two:

Those who love cleaning and have turned the whole thing into a sacred art form that will usually involve some form of ritual candle burning, essential oil spraying, smudging and/or house blessing.

For instance, i was talking to the Piscean Beauty Fanatic the other week and was beside herself with glee as she was about to spend the whole Saturday cleaning. And yes, she does have a life – a business, pole dances & yoga for fitness & does a lot of Reiki/aura-soma style stuff.

I think that it does help if you have any sort of Feng Shui-Geomancy-Sacred Space style belief system. So you’re not just cleaning, you are instilling sparkling fresh Qi into your home environment, sorting your life (symbolically) as you sort your shite and setting your mind at ease.

But weirdly, the Solar Virgoans (sun sign virgo) seem to often resent it – it’s Moon in Virgo that gets off on it i.m.o.

Pisceans who have an ill-deserved slovenly reputation in astrology are often completely into zooshing up their environment & can happily compulsively clean for hours in between bouts of debauch. Same with Libra. I think because Pisceans are magical thinkers and Librans love scented symmetry.

Taureans and Cancerians would rather cook than clean – if you’ve really done a decent job sacred cleansing, there’s no WAY you want to stuff up the kitchen a.k.a. symbolic gleaming abundance pod.  Aries & Gemini clean if there is a mission/reason to do so.

I suspect Leos & Capricorns to be naturally slovenly and deep down feel strongly that there ought to be Help. Good Help to slink around with white gloves dusting & offering to fetch the Leo/Cap a glass of champagne from the fridge that Good Help has just disinfected and vanilla-wiped.

Virgos often also hoard, the enemy of a clean and uncluttered space unless it’s something like bulk loo paper. ie; practical.

I think Sagg & Aquarius avoid it along the lines of some obscure tribe in Woop-Woop don’t do it as it is actually considered more cosmic to just sort of let dust evolve in its own style, dust being also an aspect of the cosmos…the particles that are us one moment are also the dust the next, quantum meta-physics and all…the Sagg once showered in a shithole on top of a barge in Borneo so is  not concerned with a mild “ring” around the bath now because that’s your shit. Aquarius can also mount a reasonable Zen argument on top of all this.

There you have it; Pisceans & Librans clean for leisure, to sacredly space out, sort the Feng and settle their minds.  Am I right or am I wrong?

Holy hell, maybe I am overdoing the Artemesia Vulgaris (Mugwort aka Moxa, see my post on it here) …The psychic insights evoked by my dreams are just SO intense. I mean, useful, for sure. But one wakes up with a w.t.f smirk of bewilderment in the morning, post dreaming.

I seriously lucid-dreamed that i was flying at night over dark green bushland and into a headwind. I was totally trying to make for some lights in the distance where i felt it would be safe to land & not let the winds force me down into this forest in a storm. Even though it was stressy, i was thinking ‘wow, isn’t flying by broomstick SO simple & convenient…’

Yes, On a Broomstick. I hardly ever have lucid flying dreams but they are incredible…How common ARE they? I mean the ones where it feels like you totally are out there, flying about & you have to concentrate when you come swooping to land on a tree or something?  A few years ago, when I had Neptune on my Ascendant, I had then all the time & fantastical visions too. There is nothing so strong as a Neptune transit to hype your dreams, psychic powers and other-worldly awareness.

If you are BORN with Neptune conjoined to the Sun, Moon, personal planet or Ascendent you’ve got a headstart so far as telepathy et al is concerned. You have only to discover your personal gift and not piss it away, lol.

Anyway, my latest lucid dreaming was with just my Mugwort, Lavender & Hops dream pillow – $4 from eBay, awesome bargain here.  Okay and a pinch of mugwort in my mint tea. Anyway, dream pillows are easy to buy online – just get one with organic herbs from someone who seems to love what they are doing.
