Imagine how weird and yet cool it would be to have your late teens turned into a movie...Joan Jett is played by Kristen Stewart in The Runaways, also starring Dakota Fanning…it looks so beautifully styled, all L.A. Glam Rock-Seventies Hair & an all-girl band banging around the place.

Joan Jett is still totally going for it (performing, sporting black leather trousers, attempting to break artistic boundaries etc)  & interestingly, this movie is coming out just as Saturn is right on her Virgo Sun.  The last time Saturn was her Sun was when the band was just breaking up in 1979. So eerie and apt…the way Saturn cycles work!

She’s Sun-Mercury-Venus-Pluto in Virgo with a feisty Uranus in Leo v.close by.

TME: It has been said that as a performer, you’re especially hard on yourself. Is this true?

JOAN JETT: Definitely. More so in the studio than live. On stage you just react to the moment, but I’m such a perfectionist. I’m a Virgo and I have a lot of Virgo in my chart. I expect to do things right the first time, every time — even when I know people should not expect ultimate perfection instantly from themselves. That just doesn’t happen. Say we’re recording a song and I’m doing a vocal. If I’m off key or hit one note slightly off, I don’t totally freak because I’m getting better about that. But I get really angry at myself. Realistically, you can only demand so much of yourself. I’m aware of that and I’m getting better about being more patient with myself.

AND, of course, she’s now got Uranus opposing her Virgo Sun: It’ll be fascinating to see where she takes this.

So I saw Princess And The Frog & adored it.

As you have maybe read, it’s a return to Disney’s Golden Era values: hand-drawn animation, real story & a brilliant soundtrack: jazz, blues & bayou stomp style sounds. It’s set in New Orleans in the 1920s.

But what i also appreciated about it is the authenticity of the magic; the Tarot is in there, a sacred Evening Star (Venus, only called Evangeline a la the old Hoodoo tradition), a necromancer and a more benign witch who lives deep in the swamp, with genuinely witchy decor. Seriously, the way they’ve styled it draws on a whole lot of ancient myths.

All they’ve got missing is Come To Me Oil.

” Singing about the Valley of Sunsets
Green and blue … Canyons too
Singing about Atlantis love songs.
The Valleys of Neptune is arising.

Mercury liquid … Emerald’s shining
Telling me where I came from –
Honey Sun … Tourquise Bed he
lays in — … on the Burning
edge Horizon.

I’m sailing on the Bluebird’s mission …
Bubble and curls and tiptoes in the foam –
See the wind make love to all
the ocean … Joy spread and
the message got home –

Singing about the Valley of Sunsets …
Purple and gold … the Armies of the Lord
Before ancient Egypt, there were moon trips …
The Valleys of Neptune is arising — “

The Valleys Of Neptune is the title track of this “new” Jimi Hendrix album being released in March. I love how actually insanely Neptunian the song is – all intoxicated, idealistic & yearning for other-worldly meaning.  Ancient Egypt, moon trips, Atlantis, alchemy references – brilliant. I am suddenly getting Jimi Hendrix. I just thought he was a Pluto-in-Leo-generation icon.

Now get this: Hendrix was a multiple conjunct Saggo – Sun, Mercury, Venus & Sagittarius all rising. Rad-Saggo for sure. But Neptune rides high in his chart and it trines a Saturn-Uranus conjunction in Gemini. It also sextiles his Sun-Venus but Neptune trine Saturn-Uranus is innovative, gifted and multi-dimensional. A major legacy.

What i love about this is that Uranus is about to oppose Jimi Hendrix’s natal Neptune. And Saturn is on his Neptune right now. So he’s having a posthumous album (Neptune rules ghosts) called Valleys of Neptune released during a major Neptune transit. That’s super-Neptunian.

Scorpio Men On Prozac is a new indie film following the lives of several different Scorpio men & boys. They’re not all on Prozac but, judging from the scenes released thus-far, they should be. They were too intense for me to post  up here. Lol, tres Scorp. It’s based on a book of the same title by Rand Marsh who, I am assuming is a Scorpio.

I love the concept. Imagine if it became a whole series: Saggo Men Stoned On Cannabis, Aries Men On Cocaine, Taurus Men On Verdelho etc.

Thoughts? And will you be seeing this movie? Check out the video results to see what I mean about intensity. I mean, really, I didn’t know Scorp guys were THAT bad, Prozac or not.

This is my friend Kim Falconer’s latest book, due out TOMORROW!  I cannot wait to read it & this is not just hyper-gush. The most satisfying thing about Kim’s book (which remind me of Ursula Le Guin & Madeleine L’Engle, maybe a bit Tanith Lee or a feminist Wiccan Tolkien) is that the magic in it is all real.

The spells work. The astrology is accurate. The magical thinking instruction is actually inspirational. It all makes complete sense. Because if you know even a bit about the Occult, it’s infuriating to read something like “the Moon was retrograde that night”.  The science is for real.  Even though there is always a tight plot (I am, I admit it, a natural contender for anything blending sex, magic & time travel conundrums) it is also like reading a manual.

You can buy it online here or have a crack at winning Kimmy’s whole Quantum Enchantment series here.

I know i am always saying that an exercise book is fine to jot down your dreams in but this thing is brilliant; It’s got a page per day or dream & is just formatted enough to be actually helpful. Something about the discipline of having to put the dream into just a few lines is absolute magic. Then there a few more lines for the key symbols in your dream and some for your quick interp. It seems SO simple but i just got this a few weeks ago and it has already made a huge difference to both the recording and interp of dreams…Totally recommended & i am fairly sure it’s available more or less anywhere…Especially when the Chiron-Neptune conjunction for all of Feb really will make dreams ludicrously helpful and healing!!!

Robert Downey Jr in Sherlock Holmes

I admit it. I’ve never read Sherlock Holmes books & don’t want to see this movie because (weirdly, according to people i know) Guy Ritchie films don’t resonate.

Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle himself had all manner of supernatural & was even friends with the daring Aries magician & illusionist Harry Houdini. F.Y.I.:  There is a whole chapter of a Sherlock Holmes book devoted to this:   Was Sherlock Holmes Really A Capricorn?

“The birthdate of the fictional character of James Bond 007, according to John Pearson in James Bond, the Authorized Biography of 007 is 11th November , 1920.”

And still, he looks So Hot for a guy who is 89!

So he has Sun, Moon (an Eclipse) Node and Mercury (retrograde) in Scorpio. Venus in Sagg so he’s drawn to the sexy, emancipated, globe-trotting untameable types BUT he’s got Mars in controlling Capricorn so he wants to tame them.  I LOVE the astro of fictional characters.

And as this Nerve mag article makes clear, Casino Royale is mega-Scorpionic.

“If you’ve never read a Bond novel, Casino Royale is something of a shock. For a start, Bond is more psychologically complex, almost sociopathic, than the one-dimensional version of the movies. He appears to harbor rape fantasies towards women, suggesting demons in his closet. In an early chapter we are casually informed that Bond “lit his seventieth cigarette of the day,” shortly before taking a cold shower and slipping into bed, where “his features relapsed into a taciturn mask, ironical, brutal, and cold.” He smokes, he drinks, he takes cold showers! This is old school Bond, a million miles from the fussy figure he has become on screen. Forewarned that he is going to be saddled with a female accomplice, he is appalled: “Women were for recreation. On a job, they got in the way and fogged things up with sex and hurt feelings and all the emotional baggage they carried around.” Inevitably the woman is bad news; his attempt to save her leads to a remarkably candid torture scene, in which Bond is forced to strip and have his genitals brutalized until he loses consciousness. The message could hardly be clearer: women rob men of their power.”

There are dating books (like, ‘don’t fart during dinner and nor should you date peeps whom bore you to hell and back as it gives you premature mortality’) and then there are books like this one WHICH I HAVE NOT READ YET and yet I wanted to…I LOVED The sound of it…

It is all about how there are Satyrs and Mermaids etc, all the – i am gathering – sub-deities of the pantheistic world…And how they relate!  LOVING the idea….The contact links on her site do NOT WORK -infuriating and i have tried them in several different browsers, because how cool would it have been to interview her about this book, brilliant idea and the link to mythology, modern life etc?  So…what…?

One cannot even SEND a vague query through to the agent as they are so nymph-like..the link does not work!  Screw it! SO INSULTING when you are trying to contact an author for interview etc and the links are not even ACTIVE!

Can anyone who has read this interesting sounding book or managed to make the “contact” works on the site work please tell me?  OR is the idea that we boring, usual peeps are  not supposed to be able to access info re nymphs etc??  SO ANNOYING.
