There are people out there obsessed with Fixed Stars & they’re insanely erudite on the subject. I’m not but I kind of swing back into being interested in them every few years or so. The Fixed Stars do not move. There are a whole lot of them and because the study of them is SO super-ancient, the interpretations of them can be a bit fatalistic and gory, very Game of Thrones, actually.
But Sirius – The Dog Star – is one of the good guys. The brightest star in the sky – generally out-shone only by our Lady Venus, Sirius was madly important to the Ancient Egyptians and to the Maoris – they called him Takura. Sirius pops up in all manner of fiction as well – everything from the Illiad to early Tolkien.
For our purposes, we need only know that Sirius is said to convey the characteristics of Mars AND Jupiter (war-like, rich, lucky, nice maybe) AND to be fixed at 14 degrees of Cancer/Kataka.
So if your birthday is July 6 or July 7, your Sun is conjunct Sirius the Dog Star. The sages of the olden days would have deemed you to have a special destiny, you should probably have a companion wolf or at least a Dog totem and you’re in some interesting company.
Sirius Dog Star Peeps – no judgement, just facts: Frida Kahlo, 50 Cent, Hllary Mantel (author of Wolf Hall) George Bush Jr, The 14th Dalai Lama, Tamara Mellon, Nancy Regan and Sylvester Stallone. And…you? Of course, these people have their SUN on Sirius. But maybe you’ve got something else at 14 Cancer/Kataka?
