The Love Zombie Ballet & Daily Horoscopes
We are going to create a Love Zombie Ballet. I KNOW there are dancers and choreographers amongst you lot. And think of the Nowness. I am stunned nobody has thought of this before. I mean what was poor Giselle if not the ultimate Love Zombie?
Ideas please; i am thinking a pas de deux with the telephone, some sort of a mad pirouretting across the stage to get the attention of a gay/married/on drugs bloke in tights dancing unavailability but she does not get it.
There could be a whole corp de ballet of Zombies doing back-up. The costume design alone would be a spectacular opportunity for the right person. Who is in?
Also: the Daily Horoscopes for Weds March 20 are up and yes, they include the Venus into Aries times. Note also the Lengthy Void Moon in Gemini coming up. Omni-tasking neuromancy or just a carb coma e-stalking session. YOU Decide, obviously.
Thoughts?
Image: To be discovered. Sorry, i have been slack with image credits the last few days as finishing off my Astro New Year Action Plans. Will fix later.
Well, “Play Misty for Me” was playing on daytime tv today. I could defs see a ballet version of that!
Love love still love Icehouse. They are still playing but at $65 no can do. That house is in the Blue Mountains magic Australia.
They still bring in $65 for a ticket??? Amazing. Good for them!
I thought this video would be appropriate since it was based on “Play Misty for Me”.
Yes please. With a soundtrack by GaGa. Think Bad Romance, Alejandro, Paparazzi and more. It speaks to me because she uses all those foreign boys as love interests, and I love the foreign boys, they are my weakness. I am keeping one at arms length now, switching between nasty and nice to escape a LZ scenario.
I am the same. Always some long-distance long-term thing way past its expiration date or a string of travel romances…but while I am at home? Nothing. What gives.
Feel like a Cosmic Love Zombie sometimes. In love with humanity, then ‘ping’ so unbelievably depressed by our materialising of sooo much merde.
NN in Sagg 7th House.
My personal ballet would have me dancing with the chorus of Zombies as if they were one.
Yep! and dont forget the “married to their (ridiculously high paying) job ” types dressed in high vis fluoro and boots on scaffolding above the stage with flames or at least choreographed welding. Hubris must strike dramatically too.
lol, I would love to do the costume for that! I’d have to sneak my humour in there somewhere though..
Matthew Bourne would choreograph it for sure.
Have you seen his all male Swan Lake?
His Portrait of Dorian Grey? Set in the fashion world – all Armani Exchange, models, mirrors and cocaine?
Truly spectacular
Actually his most recent production, Sleeping Beauty featured a chorus line of zombie vampires.
The ending was a bit naff but I am sure the irony of it “all ending happily ” in a generic heterosexual “band aid baby” way was intentional.
Try to see it if you can. You will adore his work and he would LOVE that idea. You guys are totally zeitgeist-sympatico
I love oscar wilde’s the portrait of dorian gray, and felt the movie was not a bad depiction. I think secretly I sometimes want to descend into his lavishly mad sensually eloquent depravity, if only for a moment. Very romanticized and tragic about the affair that’s so attractive. I’ll need to look up Matthew Bourne. thanks, cattiva.
also, love zombie dance I think of this…remember this movie??

OMG, I met a Leo the other night, am remaining anon deliberately, but what is it with Leo men popping up now? He is officially a (now retired ish) professional ballet dancer and more. I think I have a thing for Leos now. At least, their vibe. and they ARE theatrical types, the stage is never far away is it..
to extend on my Leo thing. Thinking of all the Leo men I can think of who are personal friends, I definitely feel a different vibe from say saggies, cap, scorp, etc.
Haha…let’s do the love warp again…eh? Or is this a job for Twyla?
Can we perform a Shakespearean tragedy as a ballet do you think?
It’s been done many times…Romeo and Juliet pops to mind,
Sign me up for Costume and/or Production Design. I have done both
Done!!! I am a professional dancer/choreographer, 2 current projects and always looking for a concept to drive my pieces whether or not it is obvious to the audience what my theme is. As I consider my current projects, I must say that, because I am a LZ in recovery, my pieces already reflect a twitchy disdain for anything of the ilk. Admittedly, kinda look like Giselle… at the withdrawal phase anyway.
I just costumed a piece for some colleagues that was rife with voyeuristic sensuality that mostly turned the gaze back at the viewer and thus denies them the opportunity to consume the image with a clear conscience.
Maybe we could incorporate the audience doing S-L-O-W Mexican waves at strategic points just to emphasise the emotional roiling that goes with LZ-ism
HA!!! genius.
How about girl meets boy at work/boy is her boss and taken/contentious working relationship of opposites ensues/girl even thinks of quitting bizarre workplace but needs the steady part-time government job/never had a steady job before (more of a freelancer type)/could have met this boy as a teenager when her family almost moved to his neighbourhood.
Strange spiritual connection begins to develop/sees a faint yellow aura around boy’s head/girl thinks she is going crazy/boy is taken anyway with a family too/eventually girl leaves, riding on the back of a winged dragon.
I see it as a ballet.
Ha! Sleeping Beauty was tres Love Zombie too.
I can choreograph. Ballet since age five. Still kickin’.
“dancing unavailability” = lmao
I’m pretty sure this is the closest thing to a love zombie ballet out there (part 3/3): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NCTcxyC-WU
…or that if you were to want to choreograph one Marie Chouinard is your girl for the job!
Speaking of creepy sex-related ballet, if anyone wants to lose a few hours digging through the archives this blog is gold: jills-thrills [dot] blogspot [dot] com. It’s written by a professional ballerina turned dance captain/escort trainer/dive sex enthusiast in Vegas and it is utterly fascinating. A bit of everything in there…murder, dolphin sex, breathplay. Yeah, don’t tell me I didn’t warn you…
Around 4:55 it starts to get real love zombie. lmao
okay i clicked. it’s disturbing yet extremely captivating. i’m kind of fascinated by all the female glan machinations. lol. i made the mistake of eating while copy paste clicking the link. oops. i’ll leave it at that. I wonder if she is very leo, very uranus aquarius, 8th house and scorpio possessed among other things.
clicked the blog that is….
The jills-thrills ballet girl mentioned her age and her bday (valentines day) once, she is an Aqua sun, Libra moon, lots of other Aqua placements.
As for the choreographer she is Taurus sun Aqua moon mars/mercury in Gemini!
Didn’t watch the video yet but – wow- that blog is intense. I admire how precise her writing is.
Did anyone in the Aus timezone just become INSANELY irritable???? WOW.
no way to busy watching Flight of concords at work ha!
Can we get the Flight of Concords on board in this production?
Like this
aww yea. fo’ play very impo’tant. such a gem.
Love it!!! Have a teensy crush on Jemaine.. He is Sun-conj-Merc & Lilith Capricorn Water Ox with a Leo Moon – which in exact opposition to his Aqua Venus.
I can’t believe he called his son Sophocles!
I am SO in. I am a poet and first had the idea for a dance piece when I was with a performance artist/ actor/ alcoholic womaniser. He cheated on me and the whole thing became WAY Neptune. I have relinquished my Love Zombie ways but my god, I truly would have a ball creating an LZ ballet. I see a dress which is part cobwebbed Ms Havisham, part athletic Leigh Bowery outsize lips on leg, to suggest wearing one’s romantic vulnerability openly.
