Super Women From Mars
Want some inspiration to get your Mars on? This vid is ultra-inspirational, seriously, totally worth the 20 mins it takes to watch it, seriously. It’s about Ronda Rousey and LIz Carmouche, two of the two top female mixed martial artists in the world.
They’re about to have their first fight, it’s also the first female fight in U.F.C history and i am totally watching it.
I love that they are both Aquarius but it’s even more interesting how they’ve both got super strong Mars placements. Ronda Rousey has Mars in Aries on her North Node (talk about pulling yourself up by your bootstraps) and sextile Chiron. Liz Carmouche has Mars in Scorpio, conjunct Saturn. They’re doing their charts so well, right?

SO good. I love it when astrology works exactly as it should, kind of not surprised about the Aquaness they can be super tough. Me – Sun Scorp/Asc Aries/Mars Sag really need to get my Mars on, I’m such a weenie right now, sentimental, weeping in the street at puppies etc.
Ha ha! I love your posts Charley. I know what you mean! I should also be waaaay tougher, Aries Sun, Sagg Rising, Mars in Aries. Actually thanks to Mystic’s Astro Awesome I have been doing my Mars better than ever before
Is Uranus hanging around your Sun or Mars? It’s been bang on my ASC, my theory is that the Uranian energy has been overloading and causing some astro interference!!
Aquarians…. Repressed anger/ control channelled into something productive.
Makes me want to get back to the gym and get the splat/KaPow on.
Pass-Agg Aquarians? Have noticed this with them.
All love light & humanity until………
My Mars in Taurus says NO… I don’t want to ruin my pretty face haha
AHHHHHHHHHHH THIS IS AWESOME!!!
Definitely worth the 20 mins to watch. I can’t wait to watch this! My moneys on Ronda fo sho.
That arm bar is tough to beat! Nine have tried and failed! Liz deserves some promotion- these women bust it out but the worst guys get more support than the best gals. Can’t wait to watch!!
I grew up in maroubra , ‘the bra’ in the 60s and 70s. It was a bit like A mix of Puberty Blues, Heartbreak High and UFC. Physical fighting was part of life in those times. I saw lots of fights, male and female. The most awesome, mesmerising fights were between teenage girls. While boys sort of had unwritten laws, no kicking, no testicle hits, a bit marquess of queensberry rules, girls had no such rules. Nothing was sacred if you get my drift, hair pulling, scratching, kicking…screaming !
I quite like UFC in a carnal way, because its real. Not pretty, but confronting and real. The interesting thing to me is the battle between strength/fitness/skill/dna and pure brutal rage. Rage is often the winner.
UFC Unlike Fight Club?
Enlighten me David is what UFC?
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_Fighting_Championship
That’s the organization who sort of started the mixed martial arts competitions. The women above I think are the first female UFC sanctioned competitors x
That’s me — Aqua w/ Mars+NN in Aries! But my Mars is in the 12th.
I’ve gotten into a SERIOUS depressive slump after my birthday this week and I am planning on pushing myself hard over the next two weeks to get back into dance form. Ballet conditioning is no joke! I miss even having the drive to dance, the excitement over having some time in the studio. Just feel so dead inside these days no matter what.
Rache, what’s wrong with having your Mars in the 12th?
I feel like it’s a strong placement (MARS. In ARIES.) but then the 12th makes it confused and diffuses the energy into weird place that don’t really go with it or something. I also have the moon in the 12th and both of these combined with the packed 8th house make me really emotional and kind of like a coiled spring waiting to be set off at times. I’m working on it.
Secretly I hope that the Mars in the 12th is somehow augmenting my Mercury and Jupiter in Pisces in the 10th…I am kind of done with the inner turbulence now that I am getting older, trying to learn to just let go and channel the energy into career.
I have both Mars and Mercury in 12th. Everything has to be deep or there is no life worth living sorta vibe. When “the whole world goes away”, it’s very tough to get rid of the isolation and disintegration habits from day to day. As in what is the point in even getting up, which has been a serious monkey on my back for months. I have serious healthy outlets, but it’s during the cold silent gaps that are hard to deal with, without resorting to something destructive.
My progressed Mars is in the 12th in Libra. Not liking it but noticing how hard it is for me to be angry sometimes. Usually when I get in a funk it’s because I’ve internalized the anger an it makes me sick and depressed.
Btw – primal screaming helps stir the Qi.
Agree with ya. Mine are both in Aries I forgot to mention. So I am fascinated by the abyss, the void, silence, and nothing. I noticed that I’m addicted to risk, rock climbing, stock markets, etc. I’m aware/extremely frustrated at my own limitations, and don’t know how to apply that mars energy in something so abstract allusive as the 12th house. but maybe I haven’t figured out how to channel the spiritual urge properly to evolve. that’s what keeps me up many nights.
anyways, I have lots of respect for those two women finally breaking that glass ceiling and having a shot at a major UFC event.
Oh man, this comment and the one you wrote above resonate a lot with me. Yes on the risk taking and frustration with limitations no matter what the situation. And I had a daytrader phase. ^__^ I was ballin’ hard for a minute but in the end I ended up stressed out, isolated, and just breaking even before I decided enough was enough. I am totally a behind the scenes schemer type.
& yes to the getting stuck and all or nothing too…when i get going on something there is no stopping me but that first push to do it at all is so hard sometimes. Especially with the strong Taurus and Aqua stubbornness. Argh.
Yes Raché, behind the scenes absolutely. That’s my comfort zone. I want a job where I can sit in a lair and do research…by myself! Only to interact on my terms and timeline. I have a YOD pointing to the exact border of 1st and 12th house. Self identity much?!!
My gravity clockwork orange bats psyche makeover right now is looking eyes wide open at my emotional detachment and closeness/subterfuge issues in all my relationships. A lot of the poison resides there. I’m trying to be all black water snake Qi-elevation and be good, that I know it’s unhealthy but it is really tough right now doing it all alone, like where the fuq did everybody go? Figures, when I need them the most. Which leads me to suppress more.
“the abyss, the void, silence, and nothing” -beautifully articulated! i identify with everything you both have written here so much… thank you. not the easiest of placements, that’s for sure. heh.
Yeah, I can be like that too…I kind of keep it all inside and the pressure builds and I shut down…and then one day I finally tell everyone what I really think and change my whole life all at once! I am trying to learn how to be more assertive in real life and more strict with myself in fighting depressive states in order to get a better balance. While it can be exciting at times it is not very healthy. :/
Since you have other planets in the 12th I am guessing maybe this contributes to the internalized emotions? My little sister has a packed 12th house (she’s a Libra/Scorpio) and never gets externally angry or any strong feelings really…but then you can tell there’s sooooo much going on in her head! And she’s always drawing or writing in her notebooks…
I always tell people what I think but I am not angry.people tell me I am angry when I am not which makes menfeel like I can’t be angry.it’s a mess but doing haute Neptune helps.
I’ve been trying to convince my one aqua bff to let me peek into her pressure cooker. We both have the same issues, but what happens is we deal with it intentionally isolated in our own ways, until one day we decide to run off into some far new place….then try to convince the other to follow in some behind the scenes way. hah.
Is Mars in Aries different in other houses? it just sounds to me like you are describing Mars in Aries. none of the focus/accomplishment of mars in virgo or cap. not even so much the drive to self-promotion of mars in leo or sag. Is it just me? or is the energy of mars in aries, pure and simple, the energy of fuqing? passionately diffuse, omnidirectional.
I think Mars in Aries folks are the worst at starting things and not finishing.
That is why they should be project managers. Awesome at motivation and organisation and getting the old ball rolling.
Mars in the 12th. Ballet dancer too. Discipline is key. I can finish everything, but I have about 970 projects on the go. I have motivated people to do great things. I love having mars in the 12th (for me aqua my rising). It definse some awesome stuff. That said, I was suffered pretty bad depression in my teens and twenties. Sucks, because I was pretty brilliant at what I can do, and I squandered my skills for about 15 years. Regret it a bit, but am compensating now. Still have the doubts and fears at times (normal really) but am loving starting new projects, loving being diverse and scattered, learn how to manage it, and it is awesome.
i loved it when rousey had that weird thing with Phelps during the olympics. He’s such a wuss. Go Rousey!
Yes, but sorry, I can’t watch men, let alone women, beating the shit out of one another. Not inspired. At all.
hear hear
Yes, not much could be of less interest than this
Yeah I too tried watching it and it’s just not my vibe at the mo, soz!
No can do. I grew up in a very peaceful world but cannot stand anything violent. Not even scary movies. Hands up big wimp. Head down into study now.
holy %&*$! yeah, it might be hard to watch, but how can you not after that clip? So driven.
That clip had such good production value!
I haven’t ever seen an aquarius get emotional before. I thought it was an urban astro-myth. I was squirming when she started talking about her dads spine falling apart.
I wish I had a badass mars in fire or Scorpio.
yah the spine thing makes me squirm hard – on aquas being emotional it is interesting that she felt guilty about it too – kinda relate to that!
I’m with you Hermeswitch, that stuff is too much for me to handle-gets me all sqiurmy and I just cant seem to watch after a couple seconds.
But! I find this super interesting. I like that one is a lesbian and the other isn’t. I know a lady fighter and she trains like crazy. But she also is a bit crazy-loud in public and seems to have a lot of anger (don’t know her sign). But these 2 didn’t seem like they had a lot of anger or rage (then again maybe they save it only for the ring).
And they’re so tough!! It’s inspiring!!
I grew up in a rough pub that had most of the underbelly lot there. Literally. I’ve seen violence there and in other places. I don’t need any more of it in my life.
I went out with Miss Pisces last night. I did her chart, she has Mars conjunct Jupiter, in opposition to her Sun. I told her, I’m surprised she wasn’t a professional athlete. She told me she was thinking of becoming a yoga instructor, but didn’t think she could make a decent living at it.
I don’t think Miss Pisces even thought we were out on a date. I tried to keep it casual, but you can be too casual sometimes. I was just trying to get her someplace less noisy than the noisy break room at work, so I can hear what she’s saying. She’s so soft spoken, I can barely hear her. So I take her out, and I still can barely get two words out of her. Oh well, I suppose I was bound to be frustrated in communication, on a night she had Mercury & Mars opposition Mars. Darn it, I thought for once, she’d speak up!
I have Mars conjunct Saturn in Virgo 6th house – I can’t wait to watch this!
Wow! Interesting placement. Makes sense, very Mercurial placement too.
I never thought about it being a Mercurial placement, thanks for adding that!
I nearly joined the army when I was 18 and I’ve often wondered if my Mars and Saturn had something to do with that. I’m glad I didn’t
You sound like you could do anything B-Gem, I can imagine you in the army or chaining yourself to tractors! Gems are nothing if not versatile.
Hehe, I’ve never been trained to a tractor, I’ve driven one though!
Best wishes to Aqua Pisces Rising! x
Err *chained*
I’m also Aqua, Mars in Aries with loose conjunction to NN.
Then wow. Ronda Rousey was born only 5 days before me.
Which means she also has the Mars Trine Saturn(another plus, I think).
Thing is, I’ve never really been into any sport or any other strenuous activity. Although deep inside I feel I could deliver a strong punch or kick. Or finish a race. But it was never really out there. Probably, it’s my lazy Moon in Taurus in 5th or my Venus in 1st house conj ascendant.
For today’s new moon in Aqua, I’m setting the intention to get it on with my “strong” Mars. Join physical activities/trainings, etc.
And, I’ll be cheering for Ronda Rousey!
You’re born a day after me then? I’m also 26 (just had bday), born on the 5th, Taurus moon as well.
Guessing you’re a Cap rising then.
I wonder if Ronda has 0 degree Cap Venus or a late Sagg Venus. Either way I think she has a Mars-Venus square then too, right? Interesting that she is excelling in a solo-sport; I failed at all team sports but was very competitive at rodeo, swimming, and dance. I definitely have a secret rage streak underneath my double Toro Zen…so bets on her! haha Team Ronda.
Side note — she reminds me of Drita on Mob Wives who is also a fighter and kind of looks like her in the face. Another girl I know who is a Feb 6th birthday got into competitive body building after having a daughter at 25 and she’s killing it at age 32. Wonder what her Mars is…she’s a goofball at heart but definitely a take-no-shit kind of person and looks like a major badass and not someone to eff with.
whoops. me.
Belated happy birthday to both of us
I have my Asc in late deg of Sagg. Venus at 0 Cap.
Or to the three of us?
Interesting timing. I’ll watch it after the New Moon intention setting.
Aqua Sun, Mars conj. Gemini Asc and sextile Jupiter/Chiron in Aries and wannabe kick-ass martial artist.
And a bit of a weird question:
Does anyone know of a Tarot-Deck that uses rabbits for one of its cards?
The Wildwood Tarot has The Hare, plus other appearances of rabbity animals. I love this deck. I got mine online from The Book Depository.
Apparently it is the new version of a classic deck called The Greenwood Tarot, which is out of print and very sought-after.
Thank you! I will look it up. I actually dreamed about handling a tarot deck last night and a card with a rabbit/hare tumbled out whilst I was shuffling.
You’re welcome! Well – a dream about a tarot deck! That is wonderful.
Hey, I found this online version of the Greenwood Tarot, just while you’re waiting for your real deck:
http://www.e-tarocchi.com/greenwood-tarot/index.php
All the best!
^ and that is me, of course.
There are a few Alice in Wonderland Tarot decks which have rabbit/hare cards too.
Aquaria The Animal Medicine Pack is delightful, works for me. It has 42 or 43 animals including Spider, an arachnid.
Rabbits symbolise Fear.
AriesSun sag rising gem moon mars in cap… Can’t think of anything worse:-( than (physical) fighting for fighting sake. Could it be my mercury in Taurus… a lover of eloquent language over Braun?? :-0
Lol!!!!!!!!!!
Honeeee…. mystic do you need to get laid?
I agree their strength dedication and supreme fitness is to be both admired and celebrated! But when did wanting to hurt others become something to be applauded?? This UFC thingy is brutal and ugly. Thuggery is not a skill.
‘A hybrid between Braun and brain”..???
True power and strength which you often reflect and thankyou mystic invite us to pursue… Is understanding and then control of our simplistic conscious emotional animal behaviours… This world right now reflects what rage anger and “warriors” ( lol love it) creates..
Having said that.. If it floats your boat you go peeps : )… Hilarious…hopefully I’ll be making love.
hopefully I’ll be making love.
LOVE THIS!!!!!!!
Since when did martial arts become thuggery?! Soz bit of a rant here, but I find this a really uninformed comment.
From my experiences hanging with friends who were in the special forces and from working in the party industry I can tell you the real thugs are the average joes.
They have a pint and let loose their animal instincts with no understanding of the repercussions of their actions. Selfish, thoughtless and cruel behaviour.
Those who have been trained understand the difference between violence and what these ladies practice, which is a sport.
The brutality is in your perception, the pro’s get up after a fight with a warm smile for their competitor. It is a commonplace in every gym that the quietest people with the least to prove and the gentlest natures are the most skilful fighters.
And mixing needing to get laid into this is just.. weird.
tick
The comment about needing to get laid is one of those typical things men say to “show women their place”.
And for the rest, what you said. Martial Arts are not thuggery, quite the contrary, the more and harder you train, the peacefuller you get in everyday life – usually. Also, these women fight against others who know exactly what they are getting into, not – like thugs often – against people who aren’t prepared.
But ideas like that, and others expressed throughout the thread are exactly why women have it so hard to be accepted (or willing to enter into) doing martial arts or being respected as equally skillfull or serious as men.
“That ain’t no sport for a girl/woman”
‘the quietest people with the least to prove and the gentlest natures are the most skilful fighters.”
Jedi !
cool post, MM – things like this make me miss cable tv. tinkered olde skool rabbit ears to find out my local pbs didn’t pick up (Sag) Dom’s wild things, set me into a right fine snit after they didn’t pick up the 11th Doctor either.
so will surf it after the fact instead thx
Tick.
is ir me or is there something quite sad about this, that this production fills out every cliche possible.
and these women are reduced to entertainment.
I think you are being sensitive tbh. I would be very proud to entertain in such an awesomely skilful and exciting sport. Good on them both.
Meh, no thanks!!! Not interested in the video or getting my Mars on. I’d rather get my Neptune on and get lost in reverie.
My Venus in Libra finds all that fighting very distasteful and repulsive even …. I’m a laaaaady!!!
“My Venus in Libra finds all that fighting very distasteful and repulsive even …. I’m a laaaaady!!! ”
Hahah From lil’ Britain. hilarious!!
Yes!
you got it!!
Love it – & I get it. Great women … great stories (Mars conjunct Sun)
Just what i needed to re affirm my return to the gym after a, shall we just say, period being more indulgent. Thank you! Alarm set to 5.30am i joke not.
To the people saying it is violent – it IS a sport you know. I would much rather hear about girls like these two than all the puffettes. p.r girls and estee lauderites in womens magazines. Or yet another (yawn) yoga guru.
me again. i would also rather read about these two than bloody kate upton or chrissie swan.
Urgh, totally agree.
haha. YES
I agree with many others basically I wouldn’t watch/support this in a million years THAT BEING SAID, Sun conjunct Mars (3 degree orb) in Aries, opposite Pluto. also Mercury, Eris, Bast, and recently discovered Pholus conjunct my mom’s north node in Aries lol. So I look at these women’s faces and love the fuq out of them. They are my sisters. I have done every form of exercise on the planet: from soccer to step aerobics to recreational sex lol. Exercise and sports is how Aries women summon our life force about us. What feels best and most natural to me is punching, clean/presses with a 20-pound kettlebell, and, I do straight arm planks, on my fists, for 5 minutes at a time. I am not trying to be G.I.Jane lol this is just the nature of the Aries life force! Also I hate jogging but love short runs or just sprinting.
So surprised by the revulsion of the ‘violence’. These people are not mindless thugs who get emotional, they are professionals.
This sport is extremely difficult, it requires a vibrant mind-body connection, much training and the ability to be cool under pressure.
It may not inspire but it is worthy of respect!
Plus the people who I know that are good at MMA (men and women both) are extremely bright and and self-possessed, much above the average person in fact.
really? you are SUPRISED that some folks are turned off by violent sports? ??? hmm doesn’t seem that hard to understand… not one person has commented saying anything about the women being thugs lol….
My point is it isn’t mindless violence..Oh never mind. See above. You responded to the very comment on thuggery I take most exception to!
yes “thuggery is not a skill” is a true statement, I don’t see it as condemning these women specifically or martial artists in general, but rather a condemnation of the mentality of a culture that celebrates people who use violence to express themselves…
Does it MATTER wether it is an act of violence that was planned and trained for, by two consenting adult athletes, or wether it’s mindless violence? It’s two human beings beating the fuq out of each other. The psychic imprint on humanity is the same.
MMA is the pinnacle of violence between two human beings that our culture considers acceptable. It is nothing short of a celebration of violence, regardless of the intelligence or committment to training of the people involved. It rightly should be criticized. As a hyper-Aries-Mars lady myself, who knows a thing or two about violence and the urge to express aggressive energies, I know for a fact that aggressive energies have infinitely more productive ways of being expressed than by expressing it onto the body of another human being, and I would question someone who spends their whole life training- focusing their intentions, every day, on the goal of inflicting harm on another human being.
‘The psychic imprint on humanity is the same’? No it isn’t. The intent with which we do things is key. The intent here is to use skills to win a survival contest, not to crazily hurt others.
I am not calling MMA underwater basket weaving. But these people want to test their physicality & survival kills in a way that is as old the hills and is very human.
As a Mars in Virgo/3rd house I think it is condescending to say that the art of defence/attack on a physical level is ‘less than’ the skill taken to write a thesis.
That you feel you can prescribe how others should use their ‘aggressive energies’ and decide what is productive use of their time or not make me curious about your natal Mars though!?
Of course ‘thuggery is not a skill’ is a truism, but what it has to do in the context of this article is the point.
see my comment above, Mars conjunct Sun in Aries, opposite Pluto. peace
“The psychic imprint on humanity is the same’? No it isn’t. The intent with which we do things is key. The intent here is to use skills to win a survival contest, not to crazily hurt others.”
I don’t think you understand what I mean, I’m not talking about the mentality of the fighters at all. I’m talking about the millions of viewers. Witnessing violence leaves a *psychic imprint* on the viewer, same as everything else does, like standing next to the ocean or seeing a baby get born or being in a car accident. What happens in the brain- desensetization to violence- is the same watching MMA (trained professionals) or watching a street fight(drunk arseholes). Or watching a violent fight in a movie or video game. The process of desensetization to real violence as a result of being saturated with “entertaining” violent images is well documented-just as spending long amounts of time at the ocean is documented as having long-lasting psychic effects.
Agree with Aqua Aqua, the intent of the viewer is the other factor. It’s very lovely you care so much about the energy of the planetary field. I do too. But where you see violence, I see a sport.
Because you carry the perception of violence you find it distressing – that is the energy you bring to the MMA. But it is not the energy I bring to watching a fight at all. (Watching drunk arseholes would be an entirely distressing experience for me on the other hand & nothing to do with MMA for me).
Your perception is your reality, it is a subjective experience which means we can BOTH be right!
I would have to say that it still comes down to intent even on the part of the viewer. I don’t watch mma to see people get beat up, i watch to see how 2 people with similar yet different skill sets are going to use their body and mind to defeat the other in a competition, like any sport really, it just takes a different form.
Any true mixed martial artist doesn’t go in wanting to hurt the other person. I have seen some of the greatest displays of sportsmanship come from this sport. Even with the bigggest trash talking lead up to a fight, it will 99% of the time end in a hug and words of encouragement
“Any true mixed martial artist doesn’t go in wanting to hurt the other person. I have seen some of the greatest displays of sportsmanship come from this sport”. So true, you see humanity here more clearly that is what makes it so inspiring.
Worthy of respect?? Well that’s totally subjective isn’t it. I don’t even like sport in general! In fact I passionately dislike it!! So I really don’t care about the level of difficulty of this sport, or how smart they are. Nobody was questioning their intelligence anyway. It’s just not my thing.
Do you still think Lance Armstrong is worthy of respect?… Ok, I know I’m being illogical now (merc in Scorp) I’ve never understood the hero worship of sports stars.
I think the few here who have expressed revulsion over violence are just saying it’s not exactly their cup of tea! That’s all. We’re not all going to agree on what inspires us.
Whatever floats ya boat you know!
Of course it is fine it isn’t your cup of tea or anyone elses! And I totally dislike boofhead culture, large crowds and heavy metal music. I just like this sport!
I said “it may not inspire but it is worthy of respect”, meaning I don’t feel others need to trash the sport is all. Those chicks work hard and I it devalues their efforts to mention thuggery.
Lance? Meh, I dunno, I always knew everyone who won was on drugs as I had friends in cycling. He’s just the scapegoat for a system that doesn’t want to do it’s Pluto in Cap properly imo. I mean they ALL need their titles taken away.
If this floats your boat, great, not my thing but after the weekend I’ve had I would smugly like to dub myself the queen of MMC – Mixed Martial Cleaning. I have cleaned, I have decluttered, I have literally scrubbed on my hands and knees, I have swept, I have hoovered on top of things that have not been hoovered on top of for a decade. I have space cleared and fenged to within an inch of my life. Bring on the reinvention!
Mars in Virgo, yeah. Let’s hear it for extreme cleaning
Now THAT I respect!
Mars in Virgo too.
OMG Mystic! I just finished watching this and thought ‘well i’ll just check out Mystic before I go to bed..’ and BAM! haha
I knew Ronda was an aqua but didn’t realise Liz was too. Really looking forward to this fight, they both have such great stories. If you’re a Ronda fan check out the 2 part “all access” special that she did last year in her lead up to fighting Sarah Kaufman
Well put Andromeda. It shocks me that people are still being so narrow minded when it comes to MMA. But I must say, at the same time I’m disgusted by some people who watch the sport (mostly men, sorry) and yell mindlessly for blood etc with no sense or care for the art and skill required to be a really good mixed martial artist
It may not look like ballet but it’s totally an art! It’s not like they just get into the ring and have at it.
I don’t personally enjoy watching it much or being around the other fans either, but I do appreciate the training, technique, and dedication that goes into it.
i love that you mention ballet, because there really is a parallel between the two. the footwork and movement required in the stand up can make it seem like they are dancing at times. and some of the moves they can pull off are just mesmerising. high kicks, spins, amazing!
Interesting timing.
I have to agree that disciplined training is not thuggery and having women competing in traditionally male sports is a good thing even if it’s not your thing, surely.
Timing above is because I just had a talk with the smoking hot Capricorn about martial arts history and have only been inspired to get back into training. I have done a lot of wrestling in the past and still do from time to time but I am also attracted to disciplines involving blades. Mars virgo 2nd conjunct regulus, NN square sun/merc scorpio
Ms., I Love it, and agree – I have 11th house Mars in Sag (my 12th house sign), so definately getting a jedi type vibe there – only for defense, not attack.
…but a peek behind the veil reveals my natal Aries Saturn Rx is on the decan of Mars, trine Mars on the decan of Jupes. Leo Venus/Jupes both on Mars decan as well. Attracted to blades ? YES
Being a multi-Virgo, I may just go accupuncture.
what is the astro-signature of a blade attraction? i have one as well…
I still carry a knife in my bag (am half Sicilian),even tho’ i believe it’s illegal as deemed a ‘hidden weapon’, it’s for peeling fruit isn’t it?
Mars is the blade, needles, etc..
The devil in the details, says Mars in Virgo, along with Scorpionic eagle eyes, no wonder you are in the art & design field. x
Man, I have had the nastiest battle (ongoing) today. Landlord has decided he is going to kick me out because it took him 5 months to fix a broken tap and he didn’t want to. I am furious. I did not back down but now I have to find somewhere to move to in 3 months.
This man was a 6’3 Indian chap who probably weighs in at 150kg or more. I am 5′ and weigh in at 55kg. NOT a fair fight at all. He scared the bejeezus out of me.
Friends and I have had much discussion on how to handle the threats and intimidation. But I need evolution/astro advice.
i am a brilliant tenant. Been landscaping the backyard, taking care of the house, because I want to enjoy my home. But that is the thing folks, this ain’t my home. My scopes said that someone would have a massive impact on me today, well that was sure right (aries, aqua rising, cap moon). I was planning on moving in 2 years, buying a little place in the country, a hobby farm, should I bite the bullet and buy now.
I don’t understand, I have been bringing on the awesome in a huge way, but this kind of universe push is too fast. I have my daughters education to consider, our friendships etc. I don’t want to go yet.
Evolve or evaporate? is this it. Do I have to evolve this fast?
It is not often you will hear an aries hollar this “HELP”!
Sorry but I don’t think you need astro advice. Sounds like you need legal advice. That sucks!
This is similar to what happened to me last year with my useless bitch landlady. I could have done the legal shit on on her but I decided to save my energy, let it go and just get on with life – so from my personal experience I’d say bite the bullet and you’ll probably find even more awesome awaiting you somewhere new.
Perhaps on some level you need a new home to reflect your new levels of awesome? Children adjust to change and great new friendships can be made, don’t use these things as an excuse to stay stuck.
Besides all this, the property market is still down in most areas, mortgage rates are down, it’s a great time to buy if you can afford to. But you’d need to find somewhere pretty fast as settlement can take up to two months… (I ended up homeless for a month, which pretty much sucked – but it all worked out in the long run.)
Head for the hills NOW AC, it’s an omen to make the decision. Take YOUR time tho’, the law is on your side re rental legalities.
I agree. I don’t think you would get pushed this hard unless it was time to act.
Thanks for all the awesome comments. Outcome is that agent see’s that this is a huge issue and is going to find me a house for when lease is up in April. He was terrific. Sought advice from tenants union too, and they filled in legal rights etc. Turns out I DO have a lot more power than the landlord thinks. He is an idiot, he is losing an awesome tenant.
I will be living in the same area a while longer, my kid is home schooled, but we have a lovely routine in place with awesome tutors and group classes etc, I don’t want to break that for a year or two (even though she is definitely adaptable) and also I do really want to plan for the big move where I buy aaand I am building my new biz etc, I want to be here for my dad while he transitions to new home too, also I don’t have a lot of money so have to really nut it all out as to what and where.
I kind of already am in the hills, though I might move a little further out, just a suburb or two. Maybe get some chickens. We are not allowed pets in this place and we really want some!
Interesting. My mars is conjunct Saturn and my north node in Aries, third house.
I haven’t looked at the video yet. I will do. I’ve been interested in Win Chung (the martial art that was developed by a female) for a long time now and it’s prob time to get involved. I think it’s great that women know how to defend themselves, not particularly interested in MMA but it takes a lot of training to do it and get that fit.
There’s a fantastic video about a Philippino healer who uses the power of Chi – I’ve seen some videos of the Shaolin monks use it too – the healer set fire to a piece of paper using the energy from his hands. I’m interested in knowing how to harness Chi through body..
As for the astro – I’ve seen some amazing posts on Mars in Aries and how it’s used to fight for the underdog – the astrologer who posted it said that Mars in Libra was very similar to the energy of Mars in Libra, except that it was used in groups. I wondered if anyone else had come across that/had any thoughts?
Mars in libra here with an Aries daughter. My Aries was born to fight bullies it seems. Ingrained in her. As for me, I don’t know so much groups as public opinion. I wouldn’t so much go after the bully per se as confront the people who would allow such action to go unchecked. The collective is also responsible for borders.
Thanks 12 house Virgo – that’s insteresting about the collective and borders, also public opinion.
HongKong 1975. Peg calls the Shaolin MA peoples to attempt to learn.
On phone they say: do 3 weeks of push-ups x 3 times a day, then call us again.
Methinks what??? But i want to learn MA not pushups!
Ha youthful folly much, of course i had to prove my discipline & willingness.
Are you still doing it Pegasus? Did you train?
No missed the boat honey, now i just watch the movies.
oops type – Mars in Aries was very similar to the energy of Mars in Libra – both fighting for the underdog but Mars in Libra would energise a whole group to do that.
My personal motto is a anti-motto from the Nazi trials “we were just following orders.” I am super-sensitive to the Nuremberg defense. I can’t tolerate it. Again, Mars in Libra here.
My Mars is at 0 Libra conjunct Pluto and mercury. Can’t shut up about it. It’s actually hard for me to feel angry unless it’s a collective injustice. I mean, I get angry but I internalize it unless I can take diplomatic actions on it.
PaciFISTic?
Personally i go ice-cold when angry, not often but people around me sure know without verbally saying a word.
The love you have between you & your daughter prevents you getting angry i think.
Unless it was something concerning her, then you would absolutley lose it, yes?
Happy with results of the liquid -line -preventer? Worth the outlay?
I need to own/express my own anger though. I learn a lot from my Aries girl in that way. Her Mars is in Aqua. We get each other, sure. But, I keep my own self from being angry. I get angry on behalf of others and that’s not healthy. I need to be angry for myself, stand up for better treatment for me, sometimes with my daughter too. She’s pretty sensitive to me, so it doesn’t take much, but borders have to happen there too.
As for my face investments, nice to try – kind of like sky diving. Did it once. I don’t know that I will do it again. But I do like having options. And restylane for filling in the circles under the eyes is magic. I’ll see how long it lasts before I decide if its worth it.
I’ve got a Moon/Mars conjunction in Libra. Big businesses and corporations trying to bully little people get me riled up, but I actually get very emotionally upset. I used to be a Union rep but I don’t think I was much good at it!
Your mars conj pluto and mercury in Libra would make a good Union Rep. however.
I like the comment about not being able to shut up about it
True.
I have so much respect for both these ladies and I totally want to see that match. As for the comparisons with thuggery and even violence- I don’t see it. They’re evenly matched, they are both choosing this (a lot!) and they are skilled at controlling their bodies/minds/emotions in the ring. They’re warriors fighting for the love of it and to me that puts them on high ground. My only problem is that I won’t know who to root for- they’re both so deserving of a win.
yes, i think they’re both inspiring, but what was with the “I hate talking about my dad- I feel like it’s prostituting his memory” shtick?? I’m sure if that was for real she would have no problems being clear that she wasn’t going to talk about it!! Kinda lost a bit of my respect there…
Tres awesome. I’m waiting for the day when a person’s gender isn’t noteworthy. Paving the way ladies, paving the way.
i really wanted to be inspired by this. in theory i am all for it- equality, discipline, warrior women- and i agree that it is not thuggery. violence is part of the human condition and denying it won’t make it go away. a channeled outlet is constructive at this stage of the game, both for society and the individuals who are driven that way. good for them. on a personal level i was totally turned off though. guess i can’t do mars without venus any more than i can do venus without mars! and neither without the moon… oh well.
The adage i first heard about martial Arts is the one i love:
When you know how to use it-you don’t have to.
Guess that means your aura is enough to prevent fights or attempted ones.
yes. it’s the old “with power comes responsibility” thing. personally, i know i have a beserker inside me. she’s dangerous, and doesn’t need to come out unnecessarily. i’ve never been trained in MA (was told, when requesting it as a kid, that “jesus would protect me.” blehhh!), but i do seem to have an intimidating aura, because nobody has EVER started anything with me. even when i lived in ghetto dublin and every single one of my friends, big dudes even, got mugged by gangs of kids. they never even came near me. i would like to learn martial arts though. the discipline would be fantastic!
Wow! Everyone here seems to have seen so much violence in their lives. When I think of dublin I imagine wee hobbits..having a quiet pint…with t’ree bags o’ potatoes!..or Trainspotting..
Im sorry I do love stereotyping, perhaps thats why astrology has its appeal with me. My friend from Dublin showed us a picture of her boyfriend from a night out and when my friend commented that he looked Irish, I replied, “so what you mean is he looks pissed!?”. And she laughted could indeed it is what she meant.
My libra-ness responds to any conflict with “Please stop the fighting!” and Mars in Gem wants to talk it out. I am always reminded of Matt Damon when he answered the question “What do you want to hear when you arrive at the pearly gates?” with “Hey Matt, you know all that pain and suffering that you saw and that went on, well there is a reason for it all. Come on the back and I’ll tell you..”
ha! it was definitely trainspotting. but most of dublin is very nice! i was just told, “don’t live in x or y,” so promptly went out and got a flat in x.
i love the double meaning of pissed and how both work so well! stereotypes are fun in a general sense- archetypical and all that. nothing wrong with them until you apply them to a specific person. it’s fun to see how much we fit them, you know?
peacemaking is v v good. no need to fight unless you absolutely have to! love the quote!
Looks like jesus did protect you
Does anyone else have a ‘weaker’ mars placement in Gemini. How to you channel this placement in a positive way?
I feel that I can’t multitask for the life of me but I am constantly bored. I never fight back with words to win an argument. I don’t enjoy writing.
Also does anyone with mars in Gemini that positively influences their sex drive?
Good question!! What house is your mars in? That might give you some clues. Also, look at what’s aspecting Mars.
For example, my Mars is Virgo in 8th house conjunct my Pluto/Uranus. So I have the force of the 8th behind me.
It also trines my Cap Asc – very driven!
ok, so my mars in gemini in is the 10th (MC) and 11th house cusp. (ps I work as an accountant).
There is a lot of trine energy (libra sun/moon/mercury/venus) and sextile leo ascendant and jupiter.
Apart from that there are no harsh aspects except where its in opposition to sagittarius in the 4th and 5th, and squares virgo in the 2nd, pisces in the 8th house.
If I am driven I asummed that came from my Capricorn in Saturn/Uranus/Neptune that squares all my libra placement.
Any thoughts?
Thank you sooo much Tropic of Scorp
Maybe that’s the problem – no harsh aspects. It’s the grit that creates the pearl, the pressure that creates the diamond!
Trines are easy aspects and yours trine Libra – another weak sign.
10th house is Capricorn, so that probably gives you a little bit more drive too or your energy is focused there.
Hmmm. Mars in Gem is scattered. It’s tricky. Have you tried debating? That would be a great outlet for your mars and all those Libra planets. Try something with your hands? (Gemini rules hands).
I had a Gem friend who always complained about being bored. I never understood it because there’s not enough hours in the day to complete my tasks. I rarely get bored. And she was an artist too… “go paint something” !!! LOL.
I get annoyed with my Mars in Virgo being so anal-retentive sometimes and my chart is packed with squares and opposition. Every freakin’ day is a challenge!! *sigh* I WISH I had more trines but I wouldn’t be who I am without my squares and opps. It is what it is… *shrugs*
Sorry, probably doesn’t help but I’m no expert, just a curious enthusiast
Hi Tropic.. can you try an explain to me “Trine” and what that means with our placements? Placement in threes?
Thank you!! xo
Mars in Virgo, my fight is with spelling, pens pencils rulers & rubbers.
(pencil rubbers that is
My altercations with grubbiness and lack of hygiene.
I would prefer a Leo Mars instead of a Saturn one. Saturn and hair, huh?
I would probably be able to take advantage of this Mars action if my martial arts school was in my area. MISS it so much. NO school will ever match how I was taught at this school. I fortunately have been in touch (well them reaching out to me) with an instructor. Because I sued them I have to be careful.. but I was thinking of sending out a note to him saying how much I miss it. He was good friend and teacher to me. Long story with them being sued but one “Master” took a lot of money from me when I was down out with a medical issue. So, I sued them. Nothing came out of it other than it confirmed for me that “he” is a crook and should NOT being the business. So, anyway… outside of that individual the school, instructors, Grand Master were amazing and walked me through SO much. I miss it! <3
PS:
Mars is natalling in my 2nd house (money, self-esteem and resources)… my self-esteem is somewhat low right now.
Mars is transitioning my 5th house ((babies, art and light romances).. don’t think the transition relates to me. I can use the Mars action in my money and self-esteem… NOTE: I paid off a credit card this w/e. Working on another.
xo!!
These women obviously have natural talent and ability to participate in a sport like this. I greatly admire it, as it does require a huge amount of dedication, focus and mental toughness to not only stick to such a hard-core training regime, but to then go out and compete.
Some people have natural talents in the arts, some have natural talents in sport. I see no difference in what these two ladies are doing as to what Roger Federer does on the tennis court, or what an artist would do when they go to work in their studio – they are expressing their god given talent in a healthy way and good on them.
Regarding all the pacifist comments – I say MEH. Have any of you poked your noses out from your mung beans lately to see the rape statistics and violence against women that is endemic across the globe? It’s about time women stopped sitting around waiting for the law to protect them (which it never bloody will), or for male violence against women to cease (again – I won’t be holding my breath) and learn to kick some goddamn ass.
Martial arts training should be mandatory for girls from a young age. It’s about time women as fifty percent of the population stood up to the fuqin’ asshole men on this planet and gave them a good thrashing. Maybe then they’d think twice before picking on the “weaker sex”.
Sounds pretty Pluto in Cap/Saturn in Scorp to me!
Totally agree. Check out the Gulabi Gang. Maybe when we live in a world where there’s no rape or corruption women can afford to be weak, but until then carry a big stick! I started martial arts training as a young girl and I recall my mother being told by an old man that if I learnt to fight back I’d only get hurt more. Thankfully she thought he was an idiot. I can’t say that martial arts will get me out of any situation but its a valuable skill that I think all women should have. Do a self-defence course ladies! Put those heels to another use
There is a new course i saw in a brochure just yesterday, ‘Street Defence’ made for a street fighting style which is down & dirty to match the attackers.
Will post the name of it later when i check the brochure at work as it entails a whole new ball game of defences. Apparently designed by Israeli peeps or ex-soldiers of Israel.
Me Peg, my name doesn’t automatically stay on site since subscription renewal & have to log in every time…boring.
Maybe i need to delete cookies, tho’ it says doing so may alter website browsing.
Me too! It’s tres dull.
Krav Maga?
Been keeping an eye on this topic as I kinda didn’t really know what to think. I knew wasn’t that interested in MMA but I am surprised to see it go about 70-80% in favour of the girls fight. Eventually merging into a discussion on self defence.
I can’t agree with the comment about MM needing to get laid. No need to add that to the discussion. Yet I find the pacifist bashing kind of interesting. I would regard myself as a pacifist! And generally my philosophy leans towards people needing to gentler and kinder to each other. Regarding violent men, I don’t know what to do. I have always liked the suggestion that men should be actively involved in the rearing their children. Thus discovering the power in nurture.
I love AFL. It’s pretty tough. Can’t really handle them deliberately punching each other though. Don’t like boxing or any opf the fighting “arts”. Can’t really handle violent films. I guess we are all a paradox. If humankind were an individual they would classed as schizophrenic homicidal maniacs that need to be locked up.
Mt two cents.
