Solar Activation

Hey following the post about Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, i’ve got a lot of emails from people wanting info about the house that their Sun is in. It IS important and it is good to DO it…There was a post about this in D.I.Y Astrology a few years ago – The House Of Your Sun - and it’s worth a read. In fact, there is a LOT of material – ie; thousand of words – in the D.I.Y. Astrology section, about heaps of subjects.

If you add in the comments it’s 100s of thousands of words of astro info and erudition from you guys as well as me. It is always worth checking out the drop down category menu on the right hand side of the site before emailing to ask that i email you information on a subject that is massively covered and discussed already in the blog archives. It is also not really logical for me to “cut and paste it and then email it” as some people request.

But yes the Houses the most chock-a-block AND where you have the Sun represent life areas of extra importance in your life. There is a category called The Houses which goes through various permutations of this – eg; the House where you have Aquarius/Uranus, the 8th House and so on.

Some modern astrologers say the house system is too pedantic, batty and ancient to really work and i get that but weirdly, it still seems to work. A super strange technique that i don’t think even has a name but i love it (this is for astro-fiends only – too confusing for everyone else) to get a diff handle on your chart is this: Say you have the Sun Leo in the 2nd House – flip it around by pretending you the have Sun in Taurus in the 5th house and then rework your whole chart like that. It gives you kind of astrological doppelganger & its easier to gaze more objectively at your traits.

I’d also like to say that Venus-Pluto in Capricorn is definitely no manifesting so passionate & horny as Venus-Pluto in Saggo used to. From what i’m seeing it’s manifesting as a full on fist-shaking, As-God-Is-My-Witness-I’ll-Never-Go-Hungry-Again (or get gimped whatever) Zap Zone ferocity. More bust-ups and clarity than peeps oozing out to get karmically laid lol.

Thoughts?

  1. well that last comment IS reassuring lol – i have venus conjunct pluto natally, and the current venus pluto is trine that, as well as squaring my mars.. but had the most spectacular disaster trying to move current crush/friend forward on the weekend (he also has pluto conjunct venus natally and also trined now by cap venus/pluto). Cue new moon and I was off on my mission to phone not text, left cheery message and suggested he call back if desired – nothing, nada, zilch! in the past we have mostly texted and he has always replied. I dreamed that I asked him how this imminent relationship was coming along (ie the one with me) and he replied: I’m not used to having choices!

meanwhile, being literally blitzed on dating site but tbh, I’m just not that into meeting up with strangers – trying very very hard to focus all my putonian strength (loaded 8th house) on self-devi.

so good to have the company of MM and you all :)

    • Would you consider just picking one of the online suitors and go for a coffee? A distraction – a test bunny, as it were? :)
I suppose I say that because I am looking forward to being in a situ where I can do just that… dating as recreation. A kind of hobby. Fun, even. I don’t have any expectations for love after getting my heart stomped on last year, but I would like some fun. I have to admit online dating is a difficult concept for me to get my head around, I am so old school in matters of the heart.

      • hehe – yes, had a drink with one local, which was nice and yes, it does boost confidence I think because one is more detached – having met on a dating site, you know that the other person is at least interested in meeting someone. but, agreed – it just doesn’t feel the same as meeting someone who is connected through community, work or other friends. maybe that’s our piscean softy coming out!! hope you’re well dear and not too hot over there in the west x x

        • Oh yes it’s the Piscean need to believe in fate or something cosmic :)
A cooler few days ahead here, thank goodness, before another heatwave next week. Hermetically sealed in the house w aircon makes it bearable xx

        • Hi Chrysalis and Quintile,
I think the thing with dating sites is to treat them as a place where you can meet amazing people-and not even think that you are on the hunt for your life partner. That attitude freed me up to meet fab people-who knows, you might even make a great friend. This way I have met a guy who practically rings me every day from Perth-I live in Sydney. I am not at all interested in him as a love interest but he is great to chat with regarding all sorts of subjects. Of course there is nothi8ng like meeting someone doing the stuff you love- but I get impatient and then go on a dating site. I swear by RSVP.com and I absolutely detest Zoosk as it is full of Scammers that I ahve shot off-you should be ashamed letters to!!
On another note, please pardon my ignorance but can someone explain what you mean by “conjunct” and “aspected”. Also does Ascendant and Risinbg mean the same thing? I am a Sagg Sun, Mars in 1st House. Venus, Mercury and Neptune in 12th House.Pluto, Unranus and Mean Node(?) in the 10th House. Scorp Rising, Gem Moon.I seem to have loads in Scorp-Mercury, Venus, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Lilith. I am very happy with where I am at, life is a blast methinks and when I get moribund thoughts I just hoof my waut otta there. But……. :( I so would appreciate some action from a decent bloke, not a player. I seem to be attracting all these younger guys! Why? Googly eyes?

          • hi SS – ok, there are 2 sets of ‘angles’ to think about. The angles are the degrees between 2 planets, eg conjunct or conjoined means they are within about 7 degrees of each other (known as in orb – the extent of the orb depends on various things, e.g with major planets, it might be a bigger allowance); trine means they are 60 degrees to each other; sextile 120 degrees; opposite is 180 degrees; square is 90 degrees. Now , these ‘aspects’ occur BOTH between you natal planets (eg when you were born pluto might have been within a few degrees of venus therefor you have pluto conjunct venus NATALLY). The 2nd set of angles are the transiting planets – e.g angles between the actual moving planets and your birth placements. hope that helps – and yes, rising = ascendent :)

            • Hi Quintile,
Thanks so much for explaining the Astro fiend lingo to me. Much appreciated. I shall get out my chart that I got from Astrodienst and have a look see.
              Here’s to a fab year of everything! : )

      • I’ve thought about it too – I never get out and “meet” people as such, am not quite sure what the deal is with the Ambivalent Leo, so maybe I should shake things up with …oh fuq it who cares.

        • bless Pi – must say there are heaps of groovers on okcupid lol – patience re the leo, it sounded like it was going ok – someone once posted here (maybe Fallen Angel) to respect their space and silence. focus on yourself for a few days x x

          • Oh I hadn’t heard of that site, thanks for the tip. I’ve been window shopping on the main one and I have to say if I see one more guy holding up a fish, I’m going to join a nunnery :) Oh wait, I already live in one – my marriage!! x

            • :( Huge hugs gorgeous. Hmm can you maybe shock him into action. Serve dinner wearing just an apron. I have found the reaction to this attire quite hilarious and wonderful ; >

        • Pi make yourself go out and have fun with yourself_ i find this frees you up to enjoy you in your own space and ambivalent peeps then either awaken or remain blobbish. Dont waste your energy-you want someone to savor you.

  2. I have the Sun in my first house. I like to think I don’t do the low version of ‘it’s all about me’ but the version that says ‘just give me the freedom to be my self’. And the current vibe is certainly giving me the ferocity to claim this space. Thanks for the affirmation MM.

  3. My Sun’s in Scorpio and the 2nd House and a few months ago I had an internal awakening re: how much I LOVE nice sh*t and how I thought it wasn’t okay to want, say, a good pair of Chanel earrings as well as an intense and lively spiritual life.

This comes after several years of intense decluttering and refusing to hoard possessions any longer (a few cross-country moves made me realize how much stuff is just extraneous). So now the focus is on quality, not quantity. I’ve also gone back to self-employment, so it’s quite interesting to try and buy only quality things when I’ve scaled back my income by a LOT; however, it’s been less difficult than I expected (knock wood!).

  4. sun conjunct neptune in sag in the 7th.
i have heard that anyone with the sun in the 7th is going to get their heart majorly broken at least once (although this happens to most peeps at some point, it’s just life).

    • yep – sun in the 7th here – but conjunct neptune could make one very open to either delusional relationship or – haute neptune – highly spiritual ones

    • My boyfriend has Sun and Neptune (not conjunct) in the seventh and I see it as someone that looks for someone that is lively, Full of vitality and spunk, but has an idealistic and more spiritual view of the world. You want a spiritual actor!

      • nice interp – thanks for that – neptune is nebulously (lol) hard to define, for me anyway – a bit problematic as its my chart ruler!

  5. Mystic I’ve never tried your doppleganger technique, but I like it! Scorpio sun in the 5th house…sounds so….mysterious & sexy…
I’m playing it with all my planets & its right on! Awesome you…

  6. If this is helpful for people: my Sun is in the 9th house (along with three other planets), which is about travel, education, and philosophy. I left home for the first time when I was eight to travel “on my own” – summers at a family friend’s farm, felt very grownup to be unsupervised and out milking cows, riding horses bareback, feeding chickens, collecting eggs, picture Laura Ingalls Wilder. I was an exchange student to Madrid when I was 16, and have lived overseas for the past nine years. (I’m American, but I’ve never even dated an American guy.) All my cash is spent on plane tickets, and my day job is about education/community/libraries/service. I don’t act like a Leo (I operate much more like my rising sign Scorp), BUT my values, how I live my life, and how I spend my money is VERY Leo in the 9th house- extremes, in public roles, larger than life *in that context*. I hope that helps.

    • I think after one’s Saturn Return, or whatever other ‘return’ you may have at 40+, that then the rising sign starts to dominate.
There are 12 basic archetypes in psychology, (and now some say there are 36 plus), and 12 sun signs, so perhaps that’s where the asteroids would come into play, if you do a co-respondance to them,.Transits could be considered archetypallyl, as in what persona could be in actioning in your life during it?

  7. I have aqua in my 7th but I’m more worried about being independent. I mess around w/ my aries man friend.. but I dont want to have sex with him n e more: I’ am extremely horny tho.. Lord help me.

  8. Wow, this is actually quite challenging for me!
I am in Sun in the 2nd House Leo and the thought of being a Taurus with a 5th House … Well, it feels like the emotional version of how you feel after you have been in the bath too long and have prune fingers!

    • Yes, it is interesting to think about hey Andie, and a bit weird to get your head around. I’d be a Capricorn with Sun in 3rd, which is a perceptual shift from Gemini with a Taurean ruled packed 10th.
Too tired to think about it properly right now – funnily enough – and must do writing work …

I hope you’re well lovely xxo shell

      • Hiya shell! Yay, nice to see you. Capricorn suits you.. but I love Caps. I love my Taurus peeps mostly, but I am um..challenged by them.
I will never forget the explosion of flavours in my mouth when I learned I was Gemini Asc with Scorpio Moon. Synasthesia moment where it was like champagne, blue berries, pate & stars.

Hope you are doing well poppet!

        • Ah, that sounds quite tasty. Well maybe without the pate.

Yes I’m okay love, kinda in a limbo land but there’s no fighting it right now. One foot in front of the other.
I hope the boys are doing well xxo

  9. Ah Mystic your posts are so fab. I love your site. (gush gush – yeah deal with it)
I’m giving Bliss Mystic memberships to anyone I deem worthy as the “end of January, thanks for the tacky xmas card, I know you meant well. Here’s something that will really add value to your life.” (yes I have one of those)
end of Jan rituals. It’s a great way to minimise the bleh and upp the zing this time of year when all are cold (in the UK) flabby and broke. Haha! I didn’t buy anyone anything over the religious shopping festival so I’m feeling flush.
Sun Virgo in the 11th house square my moon. It’s how ya work it :)
Thanks for all the strategic advice – it’s as valuable as my map of the underground which costs £80 per month.
ACTUALLY IT’S WORTH WAY MORE THAN THAT.
Yes, I am blatantly shmoozing. Get over it. This site rocks.

  10. i I got instant diarrhea after eating flesh what was i thinkin i a vego
god i going insane or what? the thinking was it wld allow one not to get affected by the killing of dolphins in asia….i back to vego i feel so SICK
    krishna not happy with i

  11. mine would be sun in aquarius in the 12th H – how weird – worth contemplating – interesting as this is exactly my natal chiron placement, which I am trying to work real hard atm

  12. Sun in the 10th Aries. I’m always forging new ground, taking the untrodden path ?
My only problem there is watching others years later cotton on , finish the job and make the moolah. I’m not one to say I told you so…but…ummmm…I did.
As far as putting on the libra fluer in the 4th disguise ? I’m not going there.

    • My Sun is in Aries, in the 4th, nestling nicely with my mad-bag Aries Stellium (Venus, Mercury, True Node, Saturn, & Chiron!!!) .. So I flipped it!! (Changing my birth time from pm to am) .. & felt frazzled just looking at it :{ Too much fire in the tenth = burnies!! My adrenals were fried enough from a career in advertising, so to re-run my same life with that firey collection in the tenth? I’d be dead by now!?!?!?!

    • If you flip it, that’s Sun in Capricorn 1st House.

Which begs the question, would a Cap let others make the money from their idea? Imagine that! Being a Rising Sun!!!

Future’s so bright, gotta wear shades.

        • Thanks for explaining that Mille, thats much more interesting. Do I now put my Saturn in Cap into Aries ? If I can it does make a lot of sense. I design business system software.
          Must be inscrutable.

          • Is Cap your 7th or 8th house? That would be Saturn in Libra or Scorpio in the 10th. Sorry it’s hard to guess an Australian’s house cusps because of the wide and skinny slices of pie, being so far south of the equator.

Anyway, as an Aries you can put your Saturn where you like, i won’t argue!

Hey! Saturn in the 10th… restricting influence on public accolade, career shine..?

            • saturn in the 10th (my natal placement) can mean that every success you have you REALLY earn, as opposed to fluke-ing it in.

  13. Virgo Sun conjunct Pluto in the 1st. Mercury also joins the party there.

The other crowd is in my Cap 5th: Jupiter conjunct Saturn.

I’ve never understood what either of these meant. I do know that my life is constantly being reinvented (it feels like I’m on my 5th career, though I hope this one sticks!) and none of my so-called light romances have ever felt light.

  14. Sun in the 3rd House Gemini, very close to IC. I express myself by learning sitting comfortably at my home office – that would be the interpretation I believe.

  15. I am a Sag, so felt the whole Pluto in Sag thing big time but I natally have Venus and Moon in Cap so feeling this too…not really sure how it is going to manifest,( so far it has been sex, rejection, batty exes, exes coming back for more – the whole lot of it has me feeling quite confused) or what to expect…anyone got any ideas?

  16. So I flipped it, and I get Capricorn Sun in 6th house! Hello, ALL work then shall we??? Come on, I like my play.
How odd…..for my rebirth chart there was a Capricorn stellium…hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……..

      • I am, I am, be the grounding, that is! I’ve been listening to a grounding meditation, which at one point I listened to as I drifted off to sleep.
My 3rd eye and crown chakras were waaaaaaay represented a year ago, I was like one of those old-style champagne glass…….more like a kite, needed grounding defo! Thank you! :)

  17. Can someone clarify this flip thing? Does mm mean to look at the opposite of the suns position? So I have sun in the eighth… Gem… What would that be?

      • wouldn’t that only change the houses, not the sign placements – eg you would still have sun in the same sign as previously :)

          • Mille set me straight .. Once flipped, my sun sits in Cancer, in the first?? .. & the whole stellium follows the sun there too .. would that make me a completely self-absorbed ‘Uber sook’? with all that going on in the one house??? (venus, north node, mercury, saturn, chiron) :[

    • I am hoping that it works like this: A second house Sun in Leo is compared to an eighth house Sun in Taurus. ( Leo is the natural eighth house counted from Aries. Taurus is the second sign from Aries, therefore is the natural sign of the second house.)

So for Sun in the eighth house in Gemini, you would go and look at Sun in the third house in Scorpio to compare and hopefully find insights about how your Sun actually operates.

    • If you have – say – Mars in Leo in the 8th House – you just make it Mars in Scorpio (like 8th House) in the 5th House ( like Leo) – it gives you a chart totally different but v.sim to yours. I DID say only stuff around with this if you’re an Astro Fiend…otherwise it will just be confusing

      • so Pluto in Virgo in 1st becomes Pluto in Aries (cause Aries is ruler of 1st) in the 6th (the house that Virgo rules)?

        Interesting…

          • Ahhh thank you all… I am a fiend… a fiend for info… but this is a challenging concept to flip! so many different ways to flip…. so from what i can work out

Gem Sun in the 8th house

Yeh as above Sun in scorp in the third house…
But mystic i think you confused me even more cause you used mars in the example above, but sun in the thread…

Would you look at the sun is ruled by Jupiter? and Jupiter rules which house?
I just chose the third house because of mercury ruling gemini and scopio as it rules 8th….

Anyway… would explain why im so intense blah!

  18. Sun in Aquarius in either first or second. Flips to Sun in eleventh in either Aries or Taurus. I have an eleventh house attitude to personal income or personal appearance. Communal. Possibly flippant.

  19. I just love this artwork. Whenever i see art in primaries and shapes like this i’m convinced i was an artist in a past life.

He heh…i didn’t mean to say that first up but I JUST MADE A CONNECTION. Flipped, my astro becomes Leo Sun in the 12th House. My SN is in Leo, but my MC is Leo. Never actually know what to make of this. I have a complex relationship to the very notion of creating art…i seem to be achingly nostalgic for a particular skill i do not have, but i refuse to take classes in it. I fear the horrible results of my early efforts. (Anyway, please don’t encourage me and tell me to try it. ART is extremely personal and self driven and i will come to it, as i have all artistic pursuits, when i am ready.)

And of course i have BIG planets – thanks Jupiter and Sagittarius for making me so understated about it – in the 12th. Moon, Jupiter and Neptune.

Aries Counsellor today told me to read a book called Indigo Adults. She wasn’t sure whether to tell me or not, but said it was like a bell going ding-ding-ding.

Thought flipping my astro might be an escape from the 12th house but NO… *spooky laughter* there is no escape from the twelfth house bwahahahaaaaaa…*ghostly moans*

      • Jupiter is publishing??? Well i never! I would have thought something 3rd/9thy. I truly do learn so much here. How did you know that, Juno? What do you think painting would be?

        • painting has got to be the 6th-12th. it’s technically probably the 5th, yeah? but 6th for the nitty-gritty details and process, and 12th for the pure feeling and oneness with the paint and channeling of the magic. 5th is ego-driven on some level, 6-12 is transcendent.

      • Maybe i’ll write a horror story! On second thought whenever i have mentioned what i think are genuinely creepy idea notes to create terrifying atmosphere, other horror fans start laughing…that’d be the 5th house for you.

  20. Ohhh.. no one has their sun in the 11th. That is me, Sun in the last stretch of Virgo just to cross over into Libra. I know there are blogs or threads on this but how do I look at “trines” or “conjuncts”? I always miss that thread because I don’t understand. Does astro.com easily tell you or do I have to measure and figure it out?

Boy did I get a pang of horniness yesterday.. I don’t want it because I don’t have anyone and I am NO sleeping with just anyone. Nope! I did send a note to the toro/gem with a picture that is so appropriate for him. No response as usual but I don’t care. I sent it and felt good about it. Done.

    xo!!

    • astro.com. Go to your chart. Either chart will have the angles listed. Astro Click Portrait is the easiest chart to start with.
I share a Virgo Sun in 11th House.
      Social?

    • Booo.. I fuq’d up… my sun is in my 12th house. Most of my planets are in my 11th.. I don’t know where I was.

So, I checked astro.com.. there is “grid” below the chart with planets etc.. I don’t friends.. I am just confused. But Mystic did say that if you are not as understanding to this flipping step in astrology it would be confusing.. [pointing finger at me].. thats me! Some day!

I did switch my time from am to pm and flipped everything.. but I guess my easy question is: how does flipping everything affect me and who I am. I rely on the current placement (Sun in Virgo, analytical, stubborn, tuff on self etc)… So flipping everything puts the sun in the 6th house vs 12th.

  21. Cancer stellium in the first house.

How exactly do you “do” the house of self without seeming narcissistic?

I read the post and comments from years ago and seemingly no one knew how to do it then either …

    • I have Mars 0 first house followed by Pluto and Mercury. Its Libra, so if I flip it, its still about relationships and independence (Aries).

First house is about authenticity, not attention from others or being better than anyone else. But taking responsibility for being powerful in your own right. Not getting everything just from being one of the herd. Leadership. Stuff like that. Worrying about appearing to be narcissistic is narcissistic, because it implies how you feel about your self is of consequence to how others feel.

      • The concept of self-awareness resonates deeply with me. I’m always aware of what I’m doing and how it can potentially be perceived and I strive for “perfection” (my definition of course)/self-satisfaction.

    • How would you flip the AC? Is my Aries Rising flipped to a Libra Rising? Or does Aries resist flippage in that instance.. ;-)

      • An example would be….when I flip, I’m Capricorn Sun in the 7th house. If Cap is my 7th house, that means I’m Cancer Rising…usually… YMMV if you are like near the edge of a house.

        • i’m sorta boggled- am i doing this right? if my doppelganger sun is in the 3rd i count back 3 signs for rising? does it go with the natal house structure? like, my 2nd and 3rd houses natally are the same sign- i forget what that’s called- so i would count back two? move the aqua mc to the ac? otherwise it’s cap and while i’d love the cheekbones it so doesn’t fit.

          • Ok so for me third house would be scorpio which would make me a virgo ascendant!
            holy shit!
            Thats cool!
and I kinda relate to that now that Ive grown up!

  22. Sun in 7th in Pisces here, conj Merc and Saturn and yes, I suppose I am all about relationships. I don’t mean being a LZ – it’s more like, ‘I am my connections to people’. My relationships (all kinds) give my life meaning. I think I read somewhere that 7th house people always feel lost without a relationship, more so than others, and I suppose that ‘s me. My Cap stellium and my Venus in Aqua allow me some distance, I’m not clingy or needy, but it’s fair to say I would see relationships as more important than anything else in my life. In thinking about it, I’ve found it difficult to meet someone who gets that ‘space’ and ‘independence’ don’t translate into ‘emotional distance’ or ‘licence to fuq other people behind my back’.
    Intensity isn’t neediness, you know?
If I flip my chart, I am sun in Libra in 12th. I have nothing in Libra except Gary :)

    • 7th house sun – a life ALL about relationships (of all kinds, worth remembering, including work ones and working collaboratively). A life in which there may not be ONE love relationship only, but possibly many or several. I read (prob here) that moon in libra is THE most needy-of-being-partnered planet placement. x x

      • Yes defo worth remembering and something I’ve recently stopped apologising for, esp as Neptune has just got into my 7th and will transit my sun et al in a year or two.In a consult a while back Mystic called it ‘the most important transit of the next decade’ for me.
Interesting what you say about moon in Libra. The erstwhile lover had moon in Libra and that was him all over. Plus he was a loaded 7th houser… we often talked about musical collaboration and I wish we’d done that, but there were always more important tasks on the ‘to do’ list lol :)

      • i don’t find this to be true for me. i am a sun 7th house (and i have moon in libra in the 5th) and my life is def not all about people and relationships (any type of relationship). but that might also be because in my chart all the planets are in houses 4-8, and i am an introverted and introspective person (as opposed to someone with a lot of planets at the top of their chart, who might be a bit more extroverted and out in the world). i like to catch up with friends a couple of times a week but then prefer to spend the rest of my time doing my own thing.

        • also i do think i have learned to make sure that i don’t make my life all about relationships and other people and focus my energies on myself and my own life. and when i am with someone i don’t get absorbed in their life – i now keep the focus on myself and my life. and also that i stick up for myself at work etc. i think this has been a prob for me in the past cause i also have neptune in the 7th, but i also think that sometimes women can turn themselves inside out when in a relationship with a guy, it’s like gender conditioning. no more of that for me.

          • well done Porkchop – and yes, of course, we’re all throwing generalisations around here lol. And you’re quite right that conditioning plays a huge part as well as aspects and transits :)

    • heyy, I have 7th house pisces sun too(and merc, but not conjuncting)! I guess the only thing I can add would be my friends started out wayyyyy cooler than me, and slowly I have absorbed it and closed the gap, not copying them, but still kinda, I dunno, also it feels like the best thing in life is mind melding with people you really like, and also the fact I have such cool people that I can relate to so well makes everything else feel ok

      • nice – sounds like the merc in the 7th functioning well – I have it too, and your comments resonant about mind-melding

  23. Late 11th house Virgo Sun-Saturn conj, early Leo w/Merc sq Uranus trine Neptune.

I’ve a frequent need to hibernate but my personal, creative and professional life is communication and people and envisioning new ways to engage and connect disparate and alienated individuals and groups around the globe. Professionally I think the Virgo bashfulness suits 11th house group anonymity but bristles at meshing work styles with others and my Merc Leo has a hard time ceding control of projects or compromising :) unsurprisingly I’m quite strident abt my views and love to spar with others though perhaps Venus-Pluto in Libra softens that? The idealist humanitarian aspects of the 11th house have been major factors in my life and this house is my favorite.

On the other hand the idea of being either 2nd house Scorp or 8th house Toro is so strange to me. I own almost nothing, am terrified of death, am spontaneous, impatient and shockingly reckless with money and owe heaps in taxes.

  24. I looove the flip technique! Never tried it before, but it only really works with a couple of my planets. I’m assuming Placidus?

Being Aries Rising, most of my planets are already in their natural houses, so natally, I’ve got Moon/Mars in Leo in the 5th, Saturn/Jupiter/Mercury/Pluto in Libra in the 7th, Uranus in Scorpio in the 8th, and Neptune in Saggo in the 9th.
I presume this super-intensifies these planets?

The only “flippable” planets appear to be my sun (natal: Libra in the 6th) and my venus (natal: Scorpio in the 7th).
So “flipped” that would make my sun a 7th house Virgo, and my Venus an 8th house Libra. Right?
That doesn’t sound too good for my relationships…. ;-D

  25. Hmm. My Sun is Kataka in the 9th, and flipping that gives Capricorn in the 3rd – which is where my Moon is (not quite close enough in orb to be officially in opposition). So I am my own doppelganger in a way.

I think being Libra rising forces you to balance things a bit, because you end up with the sign on the cusp of each house as the “reverse” of the number of the house – Libra in the 1st, Aries in the 7th etc. Plus North and South nodes in “reversed” houses. No wonder it’s hard for us to come to a decision about anything!

    • I think you’d be Sun in Saggo in the 4th house if it was flipped because Cancer is 4th house and Saggo is 9th house.

      • oops, you are right yes! God I am so unSagg. Tho it is my n node so I get that I should try to be more so. But Sagg in the 4th? That is domestically fuqed up in the head and I know this because it is my ex’s Moon.

  26. Virgo Sun in 11th House
    Virgo Mercury conjunct Sun
    Virgo Pluto conjunct Sun
    Taurus Saturn/7th House trine Sun
Love to socialize, loves to help others, can be too critical, strong-willed, like to hang out with clever, smart “mercurial” friends. Saturn in Taurus/7th: is a definite problem in getting along with people at close range.
Worked on the hyper-critical aspect no longer as critical of others but very hard on myself.

Doppleganger chart: Sun in Pisces/5th House
    Interesting!
Should I work this energy more? I feel like going into hibernation and working on art. music and spiritual issues and being less social lately.

    • Hey Scorp.. Your virgo sun and planets associated are somewhat similar to mine. Virgo Sun in 12th house but pluto, mercury and uranus in the 11th.

  27. Had never heard about this doppelganger technique before. Fascinating!

My Sun in Scorpio in the Sixth becomes Sun in Virgo in the Eighth House. Sounds about right…

  28. Ahh so aqua sun in the 9th would also explain adoration of saggo turquoise? I know MM has said no one can wear turquoise like a saggo. How bout a 9 th house aqua?!! And yes, sigh, I live to travel. Best times of my life have been when all my possessions on my back with good pair of boots on ready to go wherever the wind takes me. *sighs again and looks at darling Leo bubba, grin from within rises up as eyes brand new bubba passport*!!

  29. Re: Venus-Pluto in Capricorn. Its very strange and not sexy, really. Seems consistently to provoke at issues of how we display personal power. Today, my daughter had a school assignment where the students brought in emblems of their cultures in a shoe box. She said everyone brought coins and trophies (her box includes the same, btw). That’s it exactly: Venus-Pluto in Capricorn is very coins and trophies, no?

Personally, I feel an urgent need to sort my jewelry sensibilities. I haven’t worn any in years. What’s my style? Why do I suddenly care? I feel like I am wasting money, but also like I am on an important mission of destiny. I need amulets! Shopping online, but they must FEEL right, just right, sacred even. And Jupiter in my natal Pisces 6th house – ha – I’ve never been cared for totally-financially by anyone since I was old enough to get a work permit. And I’ve never had a personal budget in my life. The jolly giant has been good to me, but its like I can’t grasp these things – Pisces.

But what the fuck do I want from here? No idea. I just know I’m no one’s gimp. And I have a few charms coming via post.

    • I think its funny that people are all amped about their sun placements after the Poehler-Fey post – like they may be celebs in secret waiting to out themselves somehow. Lol. We are the media. Everyone gets to be famous for a second.

    • I kinda suddenly became pretty fashionable now that I think of it, about damn time, all those years of not quite getting it right and always choosing something different from everyone else is paying off, I only get compliments when something is new though, which is weird, its not like it looks different or anything, all it does tho is makes me feel a lot more me

  30. annoyed that i don’t quite understand the flipping thing. in spite of reading commetns above. how would 2nd house be flipped to 5th house and not 8th?

basically i’d have a 3rd house sun and merc (ugh MORE scattered gemini energy), Saggi asc (hello once was 9th house Pisces sun), …plus i dunno. anyway. i have to get back to my reading and checking my phone and university work and wondering about the Ambivalent Leo with his Venus-pluto in Libra and heading to the library and storing my winter clothes and making gluten-free spice biscuits,..now if you’ll excuse me

    • go girl! I couldn’t really understand it either as there were several sets of instructions going round – I’m off too for a swim !!

    • I think it means you just swap the house/sign of your sun, rather than flip your chart over. ie if you’re a Pisces 9th house sun, in doppelganger world you’d be a sun in Sag in the 12th house.

  31. Always told (pre-astrolgy info) that i was a people person with 3 plantes & Chiron in 11th & strangely before i found out my Cap instead of Aqua as i had thought, i felt very Aquarian. Loaded 8th house so my calling of sexual education (of a Tantriki Nature) to the public instead of one on one & partners is there to do if i want to. Have just had the offer to design a information night which i will label as ‘truth & fallacies’ or the ‘sacred & the profane’…lol.
Haven’t faciltated a group since 1996. I may well have lost interest and be quite over it, but Myst says 3 more days of beneficial moola stars.
    11th & 8th blended.
I really want to be a priest and give extreme unction just coz i like the expression EXTREME.

  32. Totally agree with you re: Venus in Cap. We want shat done and we want it done now and as god as my witness it will get DONE.

I love that you’ve posted this I sent an email to you re: sun and moon in the houses which you so lovingly replied, thank you.

    Taurus sun in 1st house

Aquarius moon in 10th if I were to switch it around.

So true, so applicable so ‘right now’. woo.

  33. Mystic, thanks so much for all you do Gorgeous. You keep us informed, entertained and you make sure our brains and inner beings are questing after new knowledge and regrowth daily. You just make our day and I hope you realise how spec you are, no matter what, who, where your housesare doing? ; >

    Hugs galore, xoxoxo

  34. So, what is up with my social life.. it is off the flippin’ charts.. It is what I want and it is helping me stay detached to the toro/gem.. but wow. Since 2010 when I started my life over it had been such a challenge to get people to hang out with.. NOW.. they are coming out of the wood word. Love it because I need friends right now.

Virgo 11th and 12th house. Sun in 12th / Pluto, Uranus anad Mercury in the 11th.. so which one: pluto, uranus or mercury is blowing this out of the water.

    xo!!

  35. I love the idea of flipping the location of the Sun and House to gain perspective! My Sun (and Venus and Mars) are all in Leo in 7th. The stereotypical trait of Libras — indecisiveness is totally me. Without a doubt I have a lot of Leo traits, but def have a Libran edge to them. In a post a while ago, Leo + 7th cared a lot about looks, and I agree, but not in a shallow context. If something is visually appealing, esp. art, it’s so much more grabbing. Seeing a colour I don’t like is generally jarring.

When it comes to the outer planets, it seems like the houses are just as important as the sign, especially since the sign is more generational.
