The Aquarian Renaissance Girl
Renowned for her beauty and gentle temperament, Simonetta Vespucci was widely adored, becoming a celebrity of her time and known as La Bella Simonetta or simply – La Sans Parielle – the incomparable one. Many artists depicted her but the Piscean Botticelli became obsessed with her, making her his Venus & requesting that he be buried at her feet when he died.
Some say she was the ultimate Renaissance Woman or really, Renaissance Girl – as she was but 22 when she died of (possibly) tuberculosis. There is, of course, a conspiracy theory that she could have been poisoned. After all, she lived in the court of the Medici brothers and definitely attracted attention, not all of it would have been positive.
She was Aquarius with Moon in Taurus and fittingly, for someone whose beauty was so strong it rendered her image immortal, she had Venus conjunct the North Node…in Sagittarius…Thoughts?
Oh and the night she died, Pluto was exact square that super-powered Venus of hers. Enmity for sure.

I saw the venus painting in Florence. It was beautiful. I did not know about the woman behind it in the detail MM just described it though.
what i like about the top painting though is that her hair is so electric, kind of wild. looks like some attitude in the face, rebelliousness, fashionable. cool as fuq. i can see how she may have got up people’s nose and have had many admirers.
Her profile and hair in the top painting are glorious. Something about the set of nose, lips and eyes. I can see some of that clear Aquarian far gaze.
Let’s call her woman. In those times you became one, managing the intricacies of family relations, childbirth and society from around 14.
And when did she pose nude for Boticelli who, but for the Haute Neptunia of his lush otherworldly art, sounds rather like an obsessive LZ ?

This is a beautifil story post MM, most definitly one of my fav all-time posts on this weblog. I wouldnt have guessed that Aquarius Sun + Taurus Moon / Venus with North node would render an immortal – timeless muse, i would have bet artist…… I love being surprised. My secret interest is in learning about interpretations of North NOde conjunct other planets – it is the key to the fountain.

I am scared of my north node.. It is in Cancer in the 12th. Both the sign but mostly the house placement bother me. Any (preferably positive) thoughts?

Checked my chart…having a crap health day and feel like crying and screaming but of course do no such thing…no instead i:
-realise my Venus is ok not conjunct but NEAR NN (Venus 17 Aqua, NN 23 Aqua)
-imagine my own image rising from the seashell in the Birth of Venus painting
-lose it hysterically

I looked up my NN aspects again. Have been fascinated by them for a while and mull on them without knowing what they mean.
I have: Neptune conjunct NN(within 4 degrees) in the 12th with NN conjunct (within 2 degrees) my Ascendant in Sagittarius.
Does that make me Neptune rising?
Then there is a mutual reception Jupiter, the ruler of my chart, in Pisces. (Did you see him nestle up to the moon in the sky last night? Sexy beast!)
I have found that my photography career (sublime, mystical woodland images with antique camera) has been getting a boost since NN passed over all these points last year. But now I am going to watch out for square points to it too..
Yesterday’s eclipse was bang opposite my Neptune – and exact trining natal Jupiter in the 2nd. Relationship stuff for sure but also inspired artistry & a sense of calming and growth (not least don’t worry about the money – it will surely come). Sexy and sensual too! ;D
I went to see Skyfall last night. How lovely to be submerged & surrounded on the screen by gorgeous Pisceans, Daniel Craig & Javier Bardem, on this for me fishy pointed full moon… Last night was one night where I didn’t mind falling into the screen and letting the dream carry me away..
Have Venus conjunct North Node in Cancer in 5th – Actually you see very few interpretations in general astro re North Node aspects. Would be interested to learn more. Oh and Pluto has been square my Venus (6 Cancer) in recently times. Will have to check to see exaclty when re the enmity issue.
pluto is opposing your NN in cancer (the pluto in the sky not your chart that is)

I have venus on my north node and pluto squaring it at the moment but sadly, i am more likely to get done for credit card non payment or fall over the coffee table drunk then be poisoned by people jealous of my beauty and famous kindness.

I have venus-mercury-sun-pluto-northnode all bunched up in my chart like they’re holding hands together.
I know, now im worried about the enmity square, but have Venus on my ascendant right now, meant to be good for relationship, sex, romance, I’m willing and ready, but I’m not seeing any other person : )
