Jupiter In Gemini: Detrimental?

Technical Note: yes i HAVE registered my URL with Astrodienst so that the widget works but they’re not responding…hopefully soon…

So…I have a few emails from peeps concerned that Jupiter in Gemini is “in detriment” and that it thus won’t be as good as i said it would be.

First of all, nothing in astrology operates solo.  Obviously, Uranus is STILL squaring Pluto and all my Horoscopes take the Zap Zone as their base theme at the moment.

Secondly: language like “detriment” and “exalted” is old-school astrology. Yes it has its place but people give it varying degrees of importance. I’m not mad-keen on it.  Jupiter is considered in detriment in Gemini as it is the opposite sign to Sagittarius, which Jupiter RULES.  So Jupiter is AMAZING in Saggo – obviously but so what?  Jupiter in Gemini functions differently to Jupiter in other signs, whatever.

Planetary dignities are important to some astrologers, in Horary astrology and in Ayurvedic/Jjotish astrology BUT my main concern with Jupiter right now is this: How BATTY is the square it is making to Neptune?  This is enchantment but it could also be totes insanity. Jupiter in GEMINI squares Neptune in Pisces? Think of the flakiest relationship between a Pisces and a Gemini you have ever known or could imagine and think of them snorting lines of Space Dust 24-7 – that is what Jupiter-Neptune is like at the mo.

Crazy ideas and o.m.g type officially bats-but-brilliant possibilities that suddenly seem so enticingly relevant are swirling about in the aether. They could be amazing. They could be that you’ve gone secretly insane. And you won’t know till after the end of June. You’re ideally getting off on the magic and some potentially rad new possibilities but  not committing major time/money/your word to anything that could even vaguely be described as risque or that might tick off too many points of a psych-delusional questionnaire.

Besides, some things (and people) need to remain safely in the realms of fantasy whilst we deal with the Zap Zone.

Much more will be clear by early July: our world is morphing and so must we.  Read or re-read the ZZ rant…AND -

Two more things to think about (1) Note how appetites decrease now that Jupiter is out of Taurus? All i wanted for lunch was a wheatgrass juice and an organic orange. But i’m caffienated up to the stratosphere lol.

(2) if you know  your chart and want to check this out – this astro-weirding is setting off all your natal Mutable Squares..especially anything between Pisces and Gemini. Yes, really. Check it out.

    Yeah, natal Jupiter in Sagg 6th house.. excellent health all my life cept when Chiron transited it and I fell and ended up with three back surgeries..

    Mars was however on my Libran NN opposite Sun (Libra rules the low back)

    Barely touched a bite of food all day either Mystic. Like half a protein bar and half a salad which I’m finally finishing as after 5 hours massage I have to put something in there but was unsettled today and no appetite..Too much coffee as well..

    Scorp I’m house sitting for has “Dunkin’ Donuts” coffee and it’s good… Sans the donuts…dammit

      Noticed Mars in Aries co-worker spoiling for something to get riled up about. She was pushing her point of view on us and I’m like “what is important to you is not necessarily important to me”…I didn’t say it but I thunk it..Shut the hell up…. :lol:

So does that mean, that the garden i just worked on, for the Aqua and Gemini solicitors, who wanted all the red Japanese maple leaves raked off the long driveway, wont dig that i lined the whole length of the parallel garden bed with them ? i personally thinks it looks rather smashing, but when they said ”can you do something with them?” i wonder if this fire injection is what they meant?
    I’m blaming me being in a dream like Neptune space dusting state.

  6. That is SO true about the lessened appetites..just a few weeks ago I was inhaling food. Now I feel positively glutinous for having half a salad. Really, this cannot be a bad thing, it frees up so much time.

    • Funny, i’ve been looking at all these dishes in the fridge thinking *sigh* that meal is SO Jupiter in Taurus! Then thought oh goody and i can do this this and that this evening instead of cooking.

    Peeps are lookingaat me like I’ma crazy fool woman ( which I am ) however it is wonderful. My freedom machine at last! Gotta take care of the 3 M’s first however (grrrrr to Saturn except my lovely Leo rising son who was with me on my maiden voyage into the wilderness of Northern NSW. We got bogged of course – but it was so much fun)

    (1) the image of the jupiter firecracker

    (2) realising that yes as jupes went into Gem, I suddenly got 2 or 3 things done that were lurking on my list and starting to drag me down

    (3) I also am now calling / texting friends – or about to – who I was avoiding
    for i don’t know any old reason, finally I feel capable of catching up with them for a good old chat and giggle about life (jup – now in gem – but still 11th house)

    (4) My chart IS a mutable square LOL… Sun-Merc in Pisces exactly squares my Asc-Desc axis in Gem-Sagg baahahah

  11. Okay, so my natal Jup is in Gem anyway, as is my Mars: At some point Venus has been on both of them, but mostly noticed whilst retrograding. Cue, at some point, me updating my facebook page so my ex can see little things the next time he cares to look. You know, just in case. But maybe its the astro, but I know for almost certain he will. Ugh.

    And a major safe-crush on a hook-up from back in Feb, who is impossible to be with because of jobs and locations. I’m just hoping the ZZ is something inredible in the love/job department, rather than “HEY YOU OWE MONEY.”

    Good news: Neptune in Pisces is sextiling my natal neptune in cap, so the energy isn’t something I’m not already kind of used to. Thank GOD.

  12. No way… I’ve been eating and drinking more than usual over the past month… and still craving good food, fine wine, dark chocolate, carbs, etc etc.

    Just majorly pissed off that cute Taurus artist I spent two amazing nights/days with is now AWOL, not answering calls, for past 8 days (I’ve only tried to call once, and messaged him once, so I haven’t been chasing, either). CRAP!

        Several years ago met this GORGE and I mean gorge (best looking man I ever saw in my life…) online at Match.com.

        He was a Toro and he took me out for dinner..I had him over for dinner….He had been calling me every day for a month…

        Then I slept with him…He wanted to see my yoni (Pegs word hehe)…and how I “kept it”…

        So I slept with the mutha and never heard from him again…

        What I had not choosen to abide is that he told me up front and center that he was not looking “for something”…as in a relationship per say..

        So, another big lesson for moi..We learn these things as time marches on until now the dude will have to wait months to see the yoni and get an HIV test meanwhile… lol

        • Yeah, I’ve known this guy for 2 years and ruled him out because he was a student (no cash!) as well as me.
          It was actually two amazing nights a week apart… not a one-off… plus we were already friends/acquaintances… have mutual friends. In between we were talking daily. I told him I wasn’t wanting to rush into anything, and have no wishes to get marrried/commit in the near future, and never want to have children. I kind of said… let’s see what happens. He said “I don’t want to change your life or anything, but if you’re lonely or want me to cook you dinner, call me”

          So I’ve got no idea WTF is going on with him. Except maybe he’s just not that into me!!

            Attempting to contact someone feels like clawing at thin air when they never respond.

            on the other hand, you weren’t that keen to get involved in the first place.

            So what happens when he contacts you again? Because he might. Do you fall back into bed with the guy, or ignore the hell out of his call or msg because you deserve better even if from a fling?

            like the other comments round here about awol types, maybe this is a wait and see scenario. but srsly for your own mental health stop thinking about the guy and go flirt with hot barista guy, the honey over in Finance, hit the gym etc

  15. The only planets/asteroids I DON’T have between Pisces and Gemini are Uranus & Pluto in Virgo/3H and Neptune in Scorpio/5H. I’m kinda crazy and as a Taurus sun I can honestly say I need an effing vacation.

  16. Yes, what am I going to do with all the food I stocked up over Jupiter in Taurus? I told myself not to go grocery shopping but it’s finals so I brought a lot of things which I don’t feel like eating anymore. Oh woe.

    Turkish Delight Tim Tams. Argh. Anyone tried them? I thought they were fantastic two days ago. Now they need to be fobbed off to some nice people who’ll help me eat them.

    l don’t belive in detriments and falls….all the enrgies out there are needed for the bigger cosmic balance :)

    yes l have Jupiter in Gemeni conjunct natal Sun/MC/Varuna
    trine Pluto, opposing Neptune, square Asc

    So l guess the Jupiter Neptune square is sort of familiar…l’d say it’s good for artistic expression…

    All the Gem action is in my 10th h
    having 2 jobs and doing a study on the side is fine with me. l did many things but they all involve art as with : Saturn in Leo :) (in detriment moawhahahaha) l am an artist.

    2000 was a Uber productive year for me l finished my academy and made lot’s of new work. so no! no detriment in my world!

    venus retro is all about artistic expression again and now it’s amplified…to the max!! Jupiter’s got to smack my MC up l so need it! but for now hard work ;) !!!

    l love my Gem Jupiter and he loves me! oh and l cancelled my FB account :)

  18. Totally feeling it. Appetite totally dropped, craving healthy food (my usual bent anyway) & started running again. Last week was total sloth, not helped by aftermath of flu – struggled to get off couch and ate loads of things don’t normally eat (bread/cheese/chips/cake!) and far too much! The past year has consisted of my lazy version of exercise – just enough strength training to get me by and lackadaisical cardio. It felt good to start running, even if I go barely walk down stairs at the mo!

      • Oh and Pisces north node squares my sag moon and Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto, south node Virgo. My gem soon & merc oppose my sag mars. Just ditched my boyfriend on Monday for being unreliable – again! – and feeling pretty good. Like Taurus anon below – no more people clogging up my atmosphere who don’t make me feel good (my general rule but I got distracted with this one).

  19. My mind is gone. Every mental expansion idea I really want to pursue keeps being put on hold temporarily-little spurts. Like the universe saying: not yet my dear, hold that thought. But I want to go now!
    So very spacy, sleep is crap, food is energy efficient but I want to maintain relishing taste and quality so brioche & pâté happen once in blue moon. But it’s all about the smashed peas, the sashimi, the excellent chocolate portion control pieces of delight with tea. The home made toasted muesli. My alliegence is to my body. Totally. And I give my time to friends who give time to me. No more drama filled people clogging up the atmosphere.

    But ze brain dude, she no compute.

  21. Saturn in Pisces 2nd house square Venus/Node in Gem 5th house. First ever proper renovation of a part of the house i.e. daughter’s room caused massive fight with said daughter and she moved out leaving me to have the new room. That’s a punch up between Saturn 2nd (resources) and Venus 5th (daughter) if ever I heard one. But somehow it all seems to be working out for the best. She’s happy out the back of her dad’s place and I have way less washing, shopping etc to do plus I get a new bedroom and to turn my old one into a study for moi. Win win win win win. I might be crying on the outside (it’s always sad to be rejected by your children) but I’m laughing on the inside (see above).

  25. I think the mistake people (astrologers?) may be making is limiting Gemini to the lower detritus mind instead of seeing Mercury, ruler of Germini, as the uniting power of the lower/higher mind. Wiith a trine to Uranus that can’t hurt but yes some fine tuning needed with Neptune.

  27. Thanks for calling out the bats, MM!!! I followed the bats to their logical conclusions. IN the spirit of Gemini, nothing makes sense, until it does. Thank you Jupiter for revealing that cliffs we “fall” over “accidentally” are actually the heights which we need to fly off to soar.

    • Virgo E, someone explained it here recently. True Node, mean node, north node – it’s all the same thing. Has something to do with the degrees and mathematics which always goes over my head.
      I’ve got NN in Gem too – 22° in 6th house. So south node is in Saggo – always opposite the NN.

    Saw a very spiritual guy pose a question on weather or not he should say negative things about another path, if he thinks it is really unhealthy and creating ‘zombies’.

    Had an email from someone out of my life wanting the password to the account I left on her computer…. WTF? Have not heard from you in two months plus! Yes you can have the password, and silly you could have deleted the account and its password just by logging in to your account? I get the feeling she thinks I’d be spying… personally no I was so thankful when you left my life, I felt bliss.

    At lest work is getting better… user finally got past her frustration. Sorry, you are not qualified to have a computer if you don’t understand basic file management.

    I’m off to find a happy place to zone out and smile.

  33. I have Moon in Pisces, and I do feel spaced out and a bit disorganized and just sort of ‘weird’…. I really want to take a vacation and step away from my life for a little while, take a break.. Been having a bit of alcohol lately, not too much, but usually it’s few and far between..

    I’m an Aquarius, so on the ‘natural wheel’ I’d have Jupiter in Gem transiting my 5th, but I’m Cancer rising in reality, so I actually have Saturn transiting my 5th…… ha ha! So will these two opposing influences cancel each other out then?

    I do feel a little lighter emotionally since Jupiter and Venus entered Gem, and have been having more fun and leisure and have been socializing more with other people, but overall still spend a lot of time alone and no love interests have shown up in a very long time, haven’t attempted a real relationship since beginning of ’09, and haven’t been sexual with anyone for a long time, either.. I’m not too motivated on that front right now anyway..so it’s ok..

  35. I’d never heard of this detriment business until now. I’d say the only detriment happening is folks getting their panties in a twist over someone’s interp of mysterious, ancient planetary movements. Not that your interps are trivial, Mystic, but, well, you know what I mean. You said it all up there, all ready.
