Astro Dieting Lol
F.Y.I. The Daily Mail has an article flogging a new book on how to diet/lose weight etc via your Sun Sign. An oldie but a goodie. Aries are competitive, Leos need to feel ‘gourmet’ to keep them motivated, Virgos appreciate the “points system” of Weight Watchers etc etc. (I saw Weight Watches CRISPS at the supermarket the other day, i think they’ve lost it)
HOWEVER i did learn that Scarlett Johansson is a Saggo – I always thought she was Scorp – and that the recommended exercise for Aquarius is hula-hooping…also hypnosis. There is more but i think we can all agree that this boils down to one pithy little mantra: French Fries are always fuqed & most of us need to do more cardio + bitter leafy green vegetables.
Thoughts?

Points system? Never.
agreed. life is already full of detail and food should just be fresh and delicious (not turned into points)
lol…my first thought was agreed!
virgo rising! but aqua on 6th house cusp cringes.
in a fit of last-minute dark moon I decluttered my fridge door and found some post it notes with calories noted on them – from last year when I did the day on/day off diet which worked incredibly well – eat only 1200 cals one day and anything at all the next day. Its actually a health diet used for diabetics and heart problems because it balances out your energy. works mentally too, as you only have to keep strict every second day! 4 planets in virgo
Hula-hooping? Hmmm … Mars in Virgo on my moon has me looking at Asian cooking videos on YouTube, like Vietnamese/Thai/Japanese … few carbs, no dairy, great flavors. Combo of lovely exotic greens, teriyaki, sushi, and chopsticks appeals to an Aqua/Virgo staying away from junky meals. A diet makes no sense if it can’t taste good and look beautiful on the plate.
Yes, french fries are fuqed. More so if they’re sweet potato fries..or fries drenched in a poutin sauce with a creamy garlic dressing on the side..or thick crispy on the outside, crumbling on the inside mediterranean fries witch crumbled feta, fresh garlic and chopped parsley on top.
Yes, I am having a french fry moment. Sigh.
There are times on this site I really wish there was a ‘like’ button. This is one of them. (Or maybe even a ‘lol’ button)
or fries with truffle oil
Mayo. I’m suffering extreme crabby carb cravings this week. Anyone else?
Mayo? Try a nice garlic aoili sauce that’ll make yo’ slap yo’ mamma its so good.
There’s a pub here called Father’s Office that only serves that – they’re like Ketchup Nazis. You want ketchup, you’re going to have to smuggle it in there.
As a quadruple Aries, I prefer belly dance. It’s a solo sport, it leaves you feeling gorgeous and you can totes feel/see the results in your overall grace/body image/thighs. The fluidity of it also makes my Pisces NN veyvery happy.
And its sensuality is a softer way for my Arian aggression to entice the weaker men of the zodiac.
I’m Scorpio sun/merc/neptune, all big 6th-house Libra/Scorpio stellium. I had great luck with the WW points system (online only, please, no perky meetings for me). I used the mobile app on my iPhone for tracking and checking point values in the grocery store — very helpful. Lots of fresh organic fruits and vegetables, salmon, dark chocolate, kept it simple and easy. Minimal grains. Exercise: stationary bike, yoga, belly dance, hula hoop, walking.
I did the hard-core part of the diet in summer and fall, when fresh seasonal foods are the best, and when I didn’t have much going on socially, to be honest, so there wasn’t a lot of drinking and dining in tempting situations.
Tracking is key — you have to track everything, and I mean everything, that you eat. Get a decent food scale. The weight loss is slow but you really learn portion control and what works. I got into the discipline of it and liked the results.
My aquarian sun/moon child LOVES hoola-hooping!!! Mystic is dead on! As for Scarlett, I thought she was a scorp/saggo cusp…?
Aren’t you screwed if you’ve got Jupiter or Sag on the ascendant? Thunder thighs forever. I’m a sun Scorp & moon Sag and the only diet that ever worked for me was a super strict low carb thing. Grilled chicken breast and spinach salad every day. I had to sneak in some dark chocolate or I thought I’d die.
I always think the Scorpio diet is like, having nothing but cigarettes and coffee all day and then throwing down filet mignon at dinner.
WORD!!! I am also Scorp sun/Saggo moon and yes, pear shaped with it all in the thighs.Cursed! I agree with the Scorpio diet except for the cigarettes. Would rather ride the emotional roller coaster of my mind smacking gum and popping DMAE or L-Tyrosine during the day to offset the hunger pains! And let’s not forget mucho H2O so as to offset dehydration latter from downing half a bottle of red wine with the filet mignon. Cause you gotta kill the bacteria somehow from ordering it medium rare!
Ooooo! Totally know of a Scorpio, with Sagittarius Moon and Scorpio Rising who basically lived off cigarettes (about 4 packs a day), coffee, beer, wine, Red Bull, and the occasional pizza (he absolutely hated red meat and fast food -*smirks*) throughout his 20s and early 30s before finally giving up that lifestyle (he had to cause he was obviously dying). He was always a skinny twig; you would honestly look at him and think that he was maybe borderline anorexic or something. I never understood how despite downing pint after pint of beer, he never properly acquired a beer belly. At one time, he got kind of chunky, but only temporarily; he bounced back and managed to come back even thinner than he was before—all on a diet consisting heavily of Coca-Cola and microwaveable pizzas. He has a Moon, Mercury, Neptune conjunction in Sagittarius and his Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, and Neptune all sit in the 1st house with his Sun and Mars actually conjunct his Ascendant. He really likes gourmet *exotic* food. I think his unspoken motto is: “I’d rather have a beer and a cigarette than eat that shitty looking meal. If I’m going to bother taking the time to eat actual food, than it better be damn good!”
Not that he thinks of microwaveable pizza as being “gourmet”, “exotic”, nor does he think it’s “damn good”. It’s just the food he survives on. He’s too wrapped up in his thoughts/feelings/imagination to worry about food.
“his thoughts/feelings/imagination to worry about food”
I can so relate to that as a Scorp/Saggo moon!!
But I’m hypoglycaemic and have to graze all day. I hate it because I’d love to be able to survive on coffee and toast and eat whenever i wanted… maybe even skip dinner on occasion. I would love to come home after being out all day and just have a cup of tea and some toast or dark choc but I can’t because I’d get the shakes and my brain shuts down.
Dinner is my worst meal of the day and if I’m working in an office I hate lunch too!! and I hate sandwiches too!! LOVE breakfast though!! Always enjoy it and never ever get bored with eating the same thing.
my bestie has sag rising and sun in sag – she has always been very trim and does the ciggies and smokes during the day and then eats a HUGE meal at dinner!
I”m a scorp. don’t smoke and don’t believe in denying or i’ll rebel. i eat carbs, drink booze, eat cakeand have hot chips but i try to not eat as much (portion control) and i do weight training a few times a week and walk from work.
exercise has made me lose the excess fat. no doubt my diet could improve, but life is too short
scorp sun
aquarian moon
leo rising
Sag Moon, Jupiter, Neptune, Ascendent here. Eat full fat cheese yoghurt & meats, 5 meals a day, plus snacks…whatever i feel like. Not a dough and flour fan, nor a processed packaged girl in general, except bacon and antipasti ( i DO try to avoid my weakness – pickled vinegary anything). Cook most of my meals. Eat a lot. Lose weight too easily. Just finished some coconut soup.
I’m strong, lean and apparently tiny (though i’m an amazon giantess in my mind). I’m always asked if i go to the gym. (Joined a gym once up north so i could lounge around in the hilton hotel pool.)
I hope that blows your Sag Theory sky high!
Thigh High you mean?
I do thigh chi.
ahahahah love to hear the tricks for thigh chi pegs! xx
Millie I always notice two things I will never have to worry about around a sag, a ride- to anywhere. And food. I have never starved or been stranded around ever. I jus love youse guys.
sincerely Mars jupiter conjuction.
VPrime – “I always think the Scorpio diet is like, having nothing but cigarettes and coffee all day and then throwing down filet mignon at dinner.”
YES LOL!!! Spot on.
I hate to agree with anything in the Daily Mail, but this is spot on for me (Scorp sun & moon). I’m either doing the rock-star diet (coffee, cigarettes, wine, vodka, unidentified substances, fast food, no sleep) or the super-Spartan extreme exercise and dropping whole food groups regime.
I find the idea of counting calories WAY too boring, and the idea of denying myself anything is just too dire. I have to decide that I just don’t want something before I give it up.
Also, dark chocolate and red wine are compulsory for Scorpios, no?
I’ve always found some merit to the astro dieting, or health advice in astrology books because they’re rather accurate: Cancers/Pisces will probably be vegan mainly because of animal rights as opposed to Virgos who do it for the health benefits. As for this Taurus, I don’t understand the carb hate. You need them for energy, along with protein, to work out and remain healthy. Makes more sense than a raw diet, but to each their own.
Also, wouldn’t it be wiser to look at Mars signs for exercise routines since that’s how your energy works?
This toro avoids carbs, don’t hate them, love them but they make me fat! But only GRAIN carbs, vegetables are carbohydrates, so i fill up on those, avoid fruit (fructose) and bingo slow steady weight loss and all this while riding 100s of kms most weeks
yeah, I meant healthy carbs, obviously. only whole wheat for me. High fructose corn syrup is evil! I don’t get why it’s legal.
Gawd, LOVE fruit but totes blow up on them. I could be a fruitarian were it not for the fact that it translates into an instant 5 lb gain. Groan.
O me too re fruit and coconut water.
Tropical fruit breakfast lunch & dinner
with fish or shell fish.
But think chocolate is secret women’s business made especially for woman’s pleasure. Men must GIVE them not eat them.
Just by luck I ended up hating soda, and candy, who needs that when theres cake and pastries. I think thats why I never got a problem with weight.
But If I had to say for an aqua just tell me the government is trying to make me fat and sluggish enough not to want to revolt or attend to many protests..
The diet would be perm.
I am a Gemini girl who needs green salad everyday to feel good and my preferred drink is bubbles of course beit mineral water or champagne.
Meeeeeee too!
agree on the salad fetish. crunchy, green with as many fresh things as I can find in my fridge, and laced with lemon juice or vinegar of some sort. gem rising… and the Pisces in me needs soup / broth, and lots of it. I can’t do stodge (dense carbs) very often or I feel like shit.
Jupiter on my Cancer ascendant! Yes, I am veggo. I have accepted I will never be thin, but am currently trying to get to my fighting weight of 67 kilos. Am in my mid 40s so can only bear to go the ‘sensible’ route – lots of walking, yoga and Pilates for strength & flexibility, cut back on boozing, eat well but watch portions (am using myfitnesspal to track all this). I only lose a kilo a month on average, but want to get the good habits well & truly entrenched. How Taurean is that ?
Oh, me too TLE. Myfitnesspal to track and educate myself on calories (never been a dieter). Turns out I eat about 1200 a day and that’s being generous, but barely any weight loss! Yes, I could exercise, but it’s winter and my Taurus moon thinks I should be at home on the couch.
I blame Jupiter in Taurus. Looking forward to a lighter (chattier) me with Jupiter now in Gemini.
Whatever happened to everything in moderation? Especially French fries.
Virgo sun, Aqua rising, moon in Scorpio… for what it counts.
Ummm…yeah, that moderation idea get’s thrown out with a full moon + PMS.
I totally agree! Exercise goes down, food intake goes up, it’s like it’s trying to ride the perpetual roller coaster that is female hormones. PMS goes great with a dark moon. Not.
As soon as its all over, I’m back t normal and the moderation thing is no struggle.
I’m with you 100% on this.
Libra sun Leo moon Taurus ascendant who loves to dance dance dance dance dance!!!! As for diet….up to the last 5 or so years have done a dance around sugar addiction, am able to moderate most “vice” foods now. My ideal diet is some egg protein or oatmeal in morn, greens n protein for lunch, and grains, vegies, and protein for dinner. it’s all good, baby!!! yum!!
Well I’ve lost a ton of weight (unwanted, I need it back thanks) ever since all this mega Gemini stuff hit, all this oscillating energy pendulum like swinging back and forth has left me unable to eat.
I think it should be more about the MOON sign.
Angelina Joiie tried WRESTLING?
Bring it SISTA!
*flexes guns*
The good thing about being a Taurus is I love my food. Yep, I love all the gourmet bad for me food but I also love the taste of fresh vegetables I get weekly from the local farmers. Amazing how much better they taste when picked ripe the day before. I’ve been munching along with beet greens in my salad for two weeks now and lovin it!
I think I fluctuate with my diet. I fall in to two distinct categories: The first I label as my Aquarian (sun) side – organic, exotic, elaborate & my Cancerian (rising) side – comfort junk food coz it’s usually due to me stressting out/emoing out at something or grilled steak for uber protein hit for the weights I do at the gym
I have Aqua sun and Cancer Moon. I too feel this as well…. I like dancing (Belly dancing) and pumping iron.
aqua sun cancer rising. eat mostly vegetarian, never buy raw meat anymore. a little processed meat (proscuitto, salami) for pasta, pizza. make large bowls of fruit salad for munchies. but yes like treats (crisps, choc). walk most days. blow out every now and then but always know i’ll bring it back in within a few months. hula hoops – no. leave that to grace jones.
Same here Aqua sun Kataka moon, organic/local when I can get my mitts on it (hard here in the desert) dislike mainstream foods & brands cos they suck. Kataka moon used to emo eat pms, anxiety, now I just don’t bring it into the house. Except once a year, roughly, will bring a quivering packet of mint slices (conveniently forgetting to fist the system) into said house offer one to kids then eat the lot guilt free lol. Fuq it I earnt it.
I saw those crisps & thought wtf too.
Twas me.
Same same! Aqua rising – vegan, raw food, organic, local etc loves yoga
Cancer moon – really reacts badly to pms and moon cycle and chocolate and baked goods are usually what I crave.
I think my Leo sun (and some comments are suggesting we should look to our mars for the way we exercise and my mars is in Leo also) I think this comes out through major energy pumping walks with headphones in and finding all the hills and stairs I can to get any tension and energy out!
I’m Aqua/Kataka, too!
Weird but comforting. Exotic but familiar. Totally get what you’re saying. Would exist on strange, ethnic global cuisine all day if I could … and then reach for the ice cream and mac n’ cheese. lol
I have met breatharians before…they come…they go. Never knew one for very long though ? Are there any breatharians about ?
Diets ? well, my mantra is eat whatever the fuq you like..in small to very small quantities. The stomach is an extremely good furnace. Keep the stomach healthy and it will burn it all up, impurities also. The often underrated element of good digestion is flavour. Get you flavours happening in the right sequence and your system purrs.
But you’re an Uber Aries davidl.. you probably just look at something and it combusts by command haha..
hahahaha FA
YES! Flavour is the alchemy!
hey dl, I tried one of those kooky food-combining diets when I was 19. It worked a treat, but probably because I was v strict about it and for once in my life stopped snacking between meals, and I was already walking the 4km round trip to uni and back most days too. So it’s hard to say what I could attribute the weight loss to exactly. it was also quite low-carb, which is one way for me to *adopts TV diet-fab voice* “shed kilos in just days!!”
Eat, drink, be merry, for tomorrow we diet. And tomorrow never comes, right? Pisces.
I would’ve thought that rather than looking at your Sun sign you’d look at the sign that rules your 6th house? Mine is Libra and I love cooking delicious things and I do love sweets… So I try and do everything in moderation and am anti-diet. I also have a pedometer and do tons of walking. I want to be like a French woman who eats little portions and doesn’t go to the gym and looks fabulous, lol.
I also have Sun in Sag and a Mars/Jupiter conjunction in Virgo.
Gah! When a man loves chocolate, I think it’s just so insanely hot. It’s like knowing he understands pleasure.. soz dunno where that came from?
I already know how to cook and make healthy food. I just need to know how to make enough money to buy healthy food. My food budget through the end of the month is $9.
charles, that’s nuts! it’s much cheaper to eat healthy. pasta costs nothing – cook it up and dress it with, parmesan, olive oil and lemon. roast a pumpkin, chop it up and throw in some balsamic, pine nuts and crumbled bacon – instant salad. buy a carton of chicken stock and add some slowly braised leeks – blend: viola chicken and leek soup. i went into a vacant house the other day i knew of and got a large bag of parsley – made a huge container of parsely pesto with it. free-range eggs you can get (in australia) for $3-4 a doz. make your own healthy pizza with flatbreads. i’m getting hungry now…
hey jicky you could do a cookbook – those are the best fast-cheap-healthy recipes I’ve seen for a long time!
haha. maybe others can put their fave healthy cheapies up too!
Jicky, that sounds lovely, but balsemico, parmesan, pine nuts etc are not cheap and not easy to have on hand if you have a tight budget.
Crumbs, Charles, that gets me. I feel sorrow when someone is hungry. If someone has forgotten lunch at work i usually give them one. Unfortunately i can’t post food on here with my words. Though i suspect my cooking might be different to your tastes
i know mille that they are expensive – the suggestions were meant to be conceptual though – they can be substituted for cheaper vinegar, vegetable oil, sultanas whatevs as mystic says. now you have me wondering – what do you cook?
Oh heck anything i eat anywhere that i like the taste of. I just recreate it. Love going to beautiful restaurants, love being fed by good chef. Tend towards southeast asian and french/meditteranean but do middle eastern et al… oh sorry jicky it’s so hard to describe. I don’t use recipe books! Or measuring equipment. Just hands and sense of smell. Spices, fresh produce, herbs in everything. Not too fond of English/Irish diet except puddings. I can’t make custard to save my life it’s always terrible. Married the wrong man possibly because he made me custard. I do eat pasta sometimes but mainly meat vegetables salad based. If rice, brown. Heavy sourdough bread with lots grainy bits. Used to bake like a fiend (need measurements for that!) but not since i was 18. I’m hypoglycaemic so sugars are like drugs for me. But i still have them a little. There are few things i don’t eat (but i hate those things with a passion). Have cooked for fam since 10 yrs old. I like to tell AquaMa her cooking stunted my growth
mmm. you can send me a food parcel anytime!
oh, mille … what deliciousness, darling. Kataka rising could listen all day.
Hey charles – I can relate. I’m sure you know what you;’re doing but I thought I would contribute in case this gives you a fresh idea or two;
Got any food co-ops nearby? good for cheap pulses, grains, legumes.. also, local greengrocers often have those bargain bags of fruit or veg, like 1kg bananas for $1, you know.
anyway if not, my action plan / shopping list solution to eating for $1 a day is something like:
1. Extreme pantry audit. What’s there that you can already use? (an onion, forgotten clove of garlic, soy sauce? dried herbs or spices? rice? freezer? is there a jar of half-finished curry paste in the fridge door? a few olives left in a container in the back? these can back up the basics that you’re going to spend your $9 on at the supermarket.
2. Legumes, root vegetables, fruit and veg that are in season are always the cheapest and most abundant. but you know that since you are a food-conscious toro yeah.
anyway my idea of a $AUD9 supermarket spree would be:
- loaf of bread: = toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch.
- legumes – dried chickpeas and/or lentils – $2-3 to soak and cook with onions, garlic, spices / seasoning.
- small bag of rice …if nec. Brown rice is better, goes further on an empty stomach.
- cheapest vegetables to mix with chickpeas/lentils.
enough slices of cheese and salami (whatever) to make a sandwich for work / uni each day. or you could take spare curry mix instead.
when i have been paid, I buy pantry staples like evaporated or UHT milk, onions, a giant bag of rice, garlic and chillies, spices that I know how to use e.g. to make dhal. pasta and flour. a dozen eggs. a big bunch of herbs that i can dry or grow my own e.g. rosemary is unkillable. Potatoes. …
worst case, get some friends to invite me around for dinner
good luck dude, wish I could teleport some pea and ham soup to you.
actually the salami might put me over budget so it would be cheese sandwiches only for lunch.
I would go insane after 10 days of this and make sure that I turned my house upside down looking for loose change etc, check for unpaid benefits eg medicare refunds, call in debts, go to gallery openings for free nibbles and food…. man i need a job.
The only diet that works for me:
cook, eat well, ballet.
My Aries Sun NEEDS movement and motion. My Virgo Rising needs healthy foods to feel good – typically quite simple foods too. So as long as I go with that it’s all good. I just have to listen to my body- it ALWAYS knows whats best!!
Natal moon in aquarius and i adore hula hooping. It is not your kid’s version of hula hooping anymore, for me it is about dancing, moving, flowing, and expressing myself. A version of self-expressive dance, as well as a meditative tool. There is a large hooping community in the states and it is catching on! I recommend buying an adult-sized hula hoop (not the kind in the toy store), putting on music you love, and trying it out, it is a good way to connect with one’s inner child!
Just yesterday enrolled starting next week Pilates (again) by a French woman who lived in Bora Bora, so we will have a connection.
To re-build core strength not weight loss unless it entails weight loss for the mind. 10 week course individually designed. Soo looking forward to it.
Walking / running, swimming, skipping rope, home resistance training (situps etc)… I think it’s time I am getting back to my student exercise regime. Gym memberships and $30 pilates classes be damned.
Hmmmm, well thanks to the combo of my Cancer Sun/Virgo Moon/Taurean Jupiter, I have to have “quality” food. Nothing greasy and fast-foody will do (except maybe the occasional indulgence on the dark moon), but no crappy fad diets either. Its hilarious the way westerners think healthy = bland. I think East African food is pretty healthy to begin with, without being depressing so I’m set there.
Aries Mars likes moving, but Gemini Venus means I can’t just run or do the treadmill for the sake of it. Exercise has to be FUN, so that means zumba or sports. If I cant do either, I atleast listen to music while I’m doing it.
I do find balance really boring so yes to something a bit extreme. Sports wise I need to feel like I have achieved but exercise should be simple and good. Death sports appeal but the other side me is all yoga
I currently try to focus on eating GOOD food that is gluten free.(some of those gluten free products taste not like food lol) I’ve been doing it enough to where I know what I like, and what to buy. I do let myself live a little…right now I just try not to have carbs for every single meal. The longest I’ve been able to eat gluten free is two weeks.
And exercise…nothing routine, but I do run occasionally. Sex marathons seem to help too.
