The Tao Of Libra?

This seems so Libra, don’t you think?

Maybe it’s Moon in Libra…I’ve got that and i love candles, beautiful flowers in simple glass jars bunged on top of books and – yes – crystals.

BUT the tray-table thing is too shabby-chic…it’s not that’s it’s old, it’s the idea of Qi from someone else.  So maybe not so Libra-Moonie?

Thoughts?

And, who uses crystals? And do you have them as you like the look of them or because you think they work?

My friend the Piscean Beauty Obsessive has them all over her house, is convinced they blast her with cosmic, rejuvenating magic rays of awesomeness.

I have some but i only put them where the Feng Shui requires Earth. You can’t just bung them indiscriminately all over the place or else you could over-earth an area that maybe needs (say) Water.

But then again, i am a Feng Shui fanatic.

BTW: Speaking of Earth Cures, I am still ADORING these.

  1. yesterday was my grandpa’s birthday. we went over to his house to celebrate.

there was nothing beautiful about it. you had to see his face. i kept trying to at least CUT THE FUCKING CAKE RIGHT so it doesn’t look like it got raped, murdered and THEN handed to him on a plate but i couldn’t. idk how to make all this terribleness of age up for him. i think he hates life.

  2. hey rosebud = is your point your grandfather is Libran?

re MM’s post – Lib Sun, fish riser, Bull Moon – nope nope & nope to the pic above – not even as singular elements.

Yes re crystals – in bouts tho. when working with them am mad for the whole energetic sphere. when not in crystal central they are certainly well respected, periodically cleansed in full moonlight or rock salt.

so Mystic am feeling is your Moon in Libra that enamours you to the ensemble above?

    :-) xox

  3. Yes, flowers and candles seem Libra.

My thoughts: Feminine soft flowers = libra, candles = taurus, crystals = pisces

Take the above and add/invite the below (this is the science of my ideal dinner party):

    Sunflowers and photographer = leo
    books and fashion = Virgo
music and wine = taurus and pisces
good food/cooking = taurus (taurus better cook than cancer imho/ experience in share-houses)
humor and fun = invite gemini, aries, saggo
sophistication and serious intellectual talk = capricorn

After dinner, pose heads out to join Aqua, Scorpio and Cancer at secret-location-new-boho bar! VL

  4. speaking of crystals, i mentioned to an older Jamacian woman I was working with in the UK, that i woke up frozen by a ghost/spirit whatever touching my collarbone. she asked what my sleeping room set up was, and i told her there were 2 weird mirrors at the foot of my bed (i had just moved in after a low scorp domestic violence incident), she bought me in 3 crystals to put under my pillow and also said that she believed our souls travel out through the souls of our feet, so by me sleeping with souls facing mirrors my soul could escape at night, but it was like the dark side of your soul….

anyhoo, i think i only stayed a couple more nights, (with the crystals and bed moved)i asked my friend who knew the place, did she feel anything weird in there (i wasnt sold on it being my soul who woke me up) , and she said all the time, do you believe in God ? well i just pray for him to make me safe….i was like ”sweet one, send me off to the haunted house why don’t you !!”.

So yep i believe in crsytals and mirrors not being at the foot on the bed.

I also love it when a sudden craving impulse sparks to mind like a food fetish of some sort, like ”i really need some lapis lazuli” and look up what it means and it seems to fit, then you find a ring in the laundry that day with lapis in it that was your sisters when she was a teen and you had no idea it was there….cool man.

beautiful photograph Mystic ! x happy long weekend .

  5. Yep to crystals, just starting using them last year & have found them to be healing & calming & grounding when I needed it. Love candles. Would like to hear some more thoughts on the chi of 2nd hand stuff, since am a keen op-shopper from way back, but could consider reformation if necessary for my well-being! Lots of stuff I own is not ‘new’ and had previous owners.

    • Lcat, of course wash anything that can be washed. Brasso/silver cleaner/wood polish.
A drop or 2 of an essential oil if it will take it, but be careful as they can ‘eat’ stuff.
Lavender does the trick or eucalyptus. And dry clean what can be.
      It’s good anti-consumerism, don’t change.

  6. Love crystals and can’t get enough of them. Ever. Love their look, feel, energy, but I don’t think they cure cancer and all that bollocks.

  7. I think that is a very pretty scene. But with my amazing sun-conjunct-pluto (sextile Venus-merc in Scorp) multitalented Libran rello, plus her tough-as-guts libran dad, I can guarantee that not all librans are into the scent-pink-fluff continuum. Although her dad has a giant art fetish.

  8. Love the whole set-up, absolutely gorgeous, and the crystal is YUMMY! I’ve been into crystals since 1995, hell of a shock when the buggers started nattering to me, have 3 boxes packed up to sell now, but still have three shelves full in my workroom. They talk to me and inspire me. But I always tell people to tune into the crystals I pass on to them and listen to or feel how they need to resonate with them and where to place them. I always know which crystal goes perfectly with each person, can’t explain how, they seem to communicate at some unknown level. I see beings in rocks and stones, rocky formations, everywhere. They ROCK! :)

    • oh wow, you make me so curious, Libraquarius! I wish you were close by… i would love to check this out.

I get the crystal attraction, but had a weirdo experience. The weirdo ended up placing these giant crystals which he borrowed (Stole?) all over my house. I found a formation beneath my bed, behind the bedroom door and all sorts.

When my naivete fell away/curiosity was sated, i swept them up to hand back. Looking at them i felt sorry for them but they were not mine to accept because they were not the weirdo’s to give. Each one had a strange tiny flaw.

It’s not as though they had power over me: i chose the scenario, and i chose to be rid of it.

      • It never works when someone else does it for you, milleunanotte, especially if there are less than positive intentions. And it’s so good you stood up for yourself, good one! I found this out from an experience with my husband who’d been sleeping badly and I’d read that if you put a crystal at the middle top of the bed pointing down and one at each of the bottom corners pointing in (so three in all) it would help sleeping. Well, it did, to my surprise. But I forgot the crystals were there and when we made the bed, out they popped. My husband was furious that I’d done this without his permission (I think he may have been even more snarky because he’d sleep well although very heavily :D ), but it was a good lesson in not interfering in the free will of others, and seeking permission first, one I’ve never forgotten. I also remember a friend who suddenly found he could see auras after doing Reiki II, and he and a psychic were viewing someone’s aura when they realised what was going on. They stomped over to my friend and told him and the other person they had no right to do that without permission and it was an intrusion in another person’s privacy. This happened right after my journey into spiritual matters and other stuff, and I think it’s good it happened early on as it’s a lesson I’ve never forgotten.

        • Do you feel it is alright if you ask the Soul’s permission? I think if you have good will (not just playful interest) and the Soul’s permission it is okay to say a prayer or place a stone etc. then you are just doing work for Spirit.

  9. Libra Uranus/IC here and I can appreciate the look of the set up in the pic (except the shabby-shit table thing) but it’s too “pretty” for my place (my Cap/Scorp energies dominate my home decorating style).

I’m a Feng Shui freak too(flying star, not that new age black hat shizz) and only use crystals in the area of my house that needs earth. I definitely feel that crystals work (I sometimes make crystal essences from them and use them like flower essences) but I’ve got too much Capricorn to get all woo woo about them. Truth be known, I probably get blasted with more with cosmic, rejuvenating magic rays of awesomeness from my kitty cat than I do from my crystal collection though. I love candles for the aesthetics but unfortunately there is no practical place to put them without fuqing up the chi in my current place.

  10. i have moon in pisces, and my bedside table looks a lot like this, except with a 70s/80s black fluro lamp…. would prefer the candles, Im so fussy about candles, cant just buy any crap ones, i made beeswax candles for a year or so in a past life, and its so hard to buy petroleum ones… saw some palm oil ones today, which are just as evil!

I love the wood, crystals, and blossoms (i have roses at the moment that are grown at my workplace and have the scent to clean every brain cell and help me fall in love!!)

I love that romantic setting in small doses and places….

  11. sagg moon.
This set up is too blandly colored for me, but I looove candles and crystals. I love how they look and believe in their energy. I have a fairly small collection, what I like the most is making beaded bracelets out of gemstones. I am always wearing several.
I follow ayurveda somewhat, and I’m a vata dosha so it’s hard for me to be grounded so I always have some hematite or tourmaline on me to stay grounded. Wearing hematite, pink kunzite, blue lace agate and amber today~

  12. I love the picture Mystic. I think it’s very Libra. Given 2nd hand items still have Qi on them from other people but as long as they are given with a good spirit i think Libra will be ok with it. Most Libras I know do like shopping 2nd hand stores but only the ones that are really nice and pre-sorted.

  13. I might have cystal earings somewhere.

The manual therepist I see has many cystals around her home/work.

So I recently read that cystals recharge other stones…so I am sure to wear my otherstones when I head over there! LOL
Last time I wore my picaso jasper neclace.

Have no idea what her sign is but I am dying to ask.

    And I’m a
    Gemini Rising
    Aries Sun 11
    Scorpio Moon 6
    Taurus Mercury 12
    Venus Pisces 10
    Aquarius Mars 10
    Capricorn Neptune 8

      • how do you clense cystals? With other cystals?…I’ve herd of purple plates. I asked the manual therepist if she herd of purple plates. She said they are not what there all cracked up to be. But I didn’t ask her why, cause I don’t really get what they are. Is it really just a purple plate? But other people online seem to like them.

        • I’m afraid I go against convention, Stawr, and don’t go in for cleansing crystals, I think it’s something we project onto rocks, crystals, etc., which we need to look at in ourselves. If I want to work with crystals or give them some TLC, I hold them to my heart and send them love, or I blow on them which is like sharing my spirit with them. I’ve also got a lovely auracleanse spray which they love. I do of course rinse them in running water from time to time to cheer them up, or pop them out in the moonlight or sun for a treat, but both washing and sunshine require care as some crystals don’t tolerate water or will fade in bright light.

        • I will use the moon also. It really is super powerful for some stones and you can feel the difference the next day. But.. in saying that, nobody talks about using sunshine for clearing but some of mine prefer that. I also do clearing in the way Libraquarius does with some or smudge others. And sometimes just clear running water and washing them clear of energies with intention is great and it is a feel good for yourself as well. I’ve had crystals for decades now and use them intuitively (so no idea if they’re all in the right feng shui places). They range from geodes to nice (but essentially functional) jewellery.

If one becomes too heavy with energy and isn’t cleared it can change colour. I’ve seen this particularly with stones like fluorite where the purples and greens get washed out and they look quite faded. Smokey Quartz can also do this as it’s such a hard worker and sometimes Rose as well. Citrine is one ‘supposed’ exception to requiring cleansing at all but mine like sun and water.

On occasion I will salt water a crystal and it is effective.. perfect example, a lovely clear piece in a shop that was closing down. Strange owner and the whole vibe quite dank and heavy. The crystal looked dull and lifeless and I wanted to clear before I started using it so that worked over several days. After that it was fine to do alternate clearings but wouldn’t have done that before due to the way it felt when I held it.

I also had one crystal that I really needed to bury in the earth for a full moon cycle to clear and it suited that one (can’t recall which of my babies it was now) and worked on the heavy energy.

I wouldn’t clear by just intention if I purchased one that had a low resonance (rather like saving an animal from a shelter or a plant on the cheap throw out table that is in trouble) but once I’d got the biggest stuff moved it’s fine to adopt your own process. They will tell you their preferences anyway… seriously. No, not with voices but intuitively you’ll be guided.

          Saggi/Taurus rising/Cap moon.

Always used candles and incense but not so into shabby chic.. the occasional piece catches my eye but it’s often you can just add an isolated piece into a different theme with that style and get away with it.

  14. I thought crystals would be a Pisces thing. Most Libras I know only like their birthstone and diamonds. I carry a tiny crystal around with me in my purse or backpack for luck, and I have Moon and Asc-Mars in Pisces.

I’ve said before that I can’t stand the fuq out of Libras, but I’ve noticed this doesn’t apply at all if the person has eiher Libra moon or Venus. All of Libra happens to fall in my 7th house. I guess I can only take the femmy planets in there?

  15. I wear quartz earrings and matching pendant, there are crystals in all 4 corners of my bedroom, one above the door as advised by a super hippy and several others around the place. Plus I sleep with a ‘lucky’ piece of turquoise under my pillow. Love them.

Nice pic, slightly too femme even for my super Libra, need something a little dark and Scorpionic to rough it up a bit!

  16. I have a crystal wrapped in red tissue in my wallet for abundance.
A wand in front of my Tibetan statue of Shiva & a quartz crystal egg sitting in
Shakti’s lap and a rose quartz heart between them. Blue tac-ed in place.
The statues, one silver, one bronze have numbers on them and were
purchased at a Festival of Arts travelling Tibetan artifacts show-shop.
Saw a show on teev just the other night, where some of the treasures taken
from Tibet have bad juju attached coz they want to go home. Ooops!
That really got me thinking as i have actually had some bad luck since obtaining
them & i am not superstitious at all. Of course have had some Good Luck too :-)
Better not take that onboard as i won’t be going to Tibet anytime soon, and
    won’t be giving them away.
For love, wrap small wand in pink tissue.
Was given my first crystal in ’88 by a New Zealander along with instructions
of usage & cleansing. They come and go like they have a mind of their own,
stay with you as long as you need them.
Libran Moon close midheaven in 10th.
    Ageing Flower Power Maven.

    • Hi Pegasus, I loved reading your post. Could you please tell me what type of crystal you keep wrapped in red tissue for abundance?
You can get your crystals energy clearned/cleansed – I have done that recently with a new Larimar stone I wear as a necklace, close to my heart.
Libra Moon close to Midheaven on 10th sounds lovely: how do you make that work for you? I have Taurus Moon in 10th and MC, but a wide conjunction with Chiron in Taurus (it’s in the 9th).
have a lovely day of it

      VL.

  17. I think of a combination of pisces or aquarius(depending on the stone) and taurus when I think of crystals…..not libra at all( unless it has a noticable symatry for balance).
Been into crystals since I was 8 years old, my father(a cap sun and mars in taurus) had a large collection. Have had huge collections, used them for healing and ritual. My eldest son is even named for stones.
Candles seem to suit Libra though.

  18. feng shui previous chirochiq

have a collection of crystals, my favourite is some azurite from China, it has this amazing bright blue in it, malachite underneath, have had some amazing dreams and dream feelings from going to sleep holding it in my hand

  19. Sun in Libra here.

As I was scrolling your new entries, I saw the picture above and thought: “Love the flowers and candles, don’t care for the table. Glass would be preferable”

Continued to read your entry and guffawed at your comment on the table being too shabby chic. So amusing!

I’ve never been interested in crystals. They seem dirty, too cloudy or some such. Too earthy? Very possible.

  20. luv-luv-luv this! Cancer sun with Libra rising here…with that rising being jacked up at the mo’ with so many planets joining Saturn there.

this reminds me lots of Saturn in Libra energy. feelin’ it in spade…

  21. Love the salt lamps! However i live in Cairns – so last time i saw them they were the size of a thimble. Note to all – they really are salt and a heck of a wet season or humidity will see them disappear. :(

  22. That looks really pretty, I could imagine decorating my house like that and my Libran partner hating it. He’d fill the house with gadgets, toys, unfinished diy and general mess.

  23. Buried my ‘house crystal’ – it’s a clear quartz cluster – a few weeks back at the foot of a gum tree. I asked for it’s help harmonising the crystal, (I felt that it was blasted from the ground, a bit of PTSD perhaps).

Unearthed it today – there was a lovely pink worm crawling through it’s middle, a good omen and it’s energy was vastly improved, more integrated. Totally different vibration.

In return for the favour, I did a little pranic healing on the tree! The tree does wonderful things for the crystal I cannot, uniting it with the earth and other dimensions through it’s natural structure. Lovely.

  24. I love this. It looks almost exactly like a side table in my living room. Except my table is circular, my flowers are white, and my books are more colorful. Huge crystal cluster and candles are consistent.
