Saturn As Tatt?
I feel as if i have Saturn tattooed onto my my fuqing backside at the moment (Saturn quincunx natal Saturn, unreal, you’ll love it) but i would not go and literally get the Saturn symbol branded onto my bod. NOT that i am judging a single thing anyone else chooses to do with their body art. But i feel like Saturn on your arm is just asking for it. Mark my words, there will be carpal tunnel syndrome from spread-sheeting on that arm at any moment.
Or maybe it’s actually really good and giant pterodactyls will swoop down from other dimensions to do your every bidding? Just because of THAT symbol on your arm? I got acupuncture the other day from a Cancerian Wizard cleverly disguised as a martial-artist-chinese-herbalist guy & he was saying that acupuncture comes directly from shamanism and that you can have certain symbols infused into major meridians of your body with amazing results. So, like, WOW. Sacred tattooing.
If you knew the most magic and supernaturally meridian of your body and could have a hot witch type do it painlessly and with indigo magic fluid, what symbol would you have done? I’d want an Ankh and then the Pentagram for Venus. Saturn transits, i like to think, are too short-lived to have actually etched into your body. BUT maybe that is the whole joke? Saturn IS for ever?

I’m waiting until August to get a Saturn tattoo, I’ve had it planned for a long time. Only tiny, somewhere amongst the others on my arms. As a reminder and as a mark of accomplishment, this Saturn return year has been heavy!
I have so many astro themed tattoo ideas, I just need to live nearer an artist or studio I trust and like. I don’t get work done by jerks, bad juju.

I think tatts are very neptunian… sort of, not just, but are kind of like some artistic side distraction of the real issue… but thats my 8th house speaking i think…
I wonder how the permanence of a tattoo operates on the desire to continually grow. If times and events have “cooked” you, do you need reminding? If you really grown fully into the person you are now, do others need to see the past written on your body?
Artwork tattoos I can understand better. In the past the symbols connected one to a tribe. But now many tatts seem connected to a fashion; some designs can almost be pinpointed to a year!
Reckon my favourite has to be a pair of thongs tattoo’d onto the feet, supposedly so one can gain entry to the pub, where footwear is required. HA HA!
Actually i think i saw it on some comedy show where someone was expressing that nothing says 1997 more than a tribal arm band tattoo. LOL!
Have to confess I had this done. Saturn pretty much rules my entire chart – Cap Sun, Venus and Cap rising plus 10th house Saturn conjunct Jupiter in Libra. Also Mercury & Mars in Aqua if you count the tradional ruler. It felt very Saturn sitting there and enduring the pain while having it done. I was also about to head into my Saturn return at the time. I’m pleased with it and felt like it was a way to honour all the hard work I’ve done getting to where I am. And yes, I realise how Cappie this all sounds!

When Pluto moves off my Venus in 2012 he will have transited 7 Planets in my lifetime, SEVEN! as well as my North Node and Ascendant. So, in honor of that I would think it would be way cool to get the Pluto symbol with The Phoenix bird rising up out of it. Wouldn’t that be really freakin cool? I just might get that. I’ve certainly earned it.
I’ve been thinking of a Pluto tattoo as well. I’ve got a serious natal Pluto and had Pluto transiting 5 planets in the last few years with my Venus and ascendant and North Node to go. I almost love the feeling of Pluto destruction now it’s like “Oh, I know you, get on with it then.”
I haven’t had any serious Saturn transits though so maybe after my Saturn return I’ll think that it’s a bit more powerful/important for tattooing but atm I feel I’ve ‘earned’ a Pluto power stamp!

The ramifications of a Saturn tattoo are too much for me to even consider getting one (and I’m a Cap Rising) . Personally, I’m still waiting to get my custom done “All-seeing-eye” done (see icon) but it always seems to be a little bit out of my budget. A girl in my class has a tattoo on her left upper arm of the Latin symbol for Cancer. I know for sure she is *not* a Cancer (her birthday is posted as November 1st on FB). Maybe its for a dear family member who happens to be a Cancer?
A second girl I know born on the day the Sun changed signs from Gemini to Cancer has a Gemini Tattoo on the back of her neck. I’m not sure if she knows anything about astro beyond sun signs (and therefore her exact birthtime) because that would mean the difference between knowing whether she’s one sign or the other. Then again, Fernando Torres (the footballer) knows definitively that he’s a Pisces and not an Aries, and Cusp people seem to be aware already that birthtime means everything in their cases.

Mars (needles), Saturn (permanent), Neptune ? closest I can figure is sailors.
Neptune: institutions, and those who’ve been in them. The tribes of the locked-in.
Seafaring is still a dangerous job, though I’m speaking less of the navy than the poorer ships, where accident and suicide is rife. Sailors are superstitious and carry symbols (Neptune is also associated with charms, enchantment, spells) to ward off death.

Well… maybe you can interpret my dream last night of a house that ate people. I spent all night getting people out of it. It got more and more cross as I would rescue all and sundry, wake up, fall asleep and rescue more people. It started with stranger and then ended up with family. At the end I couldn’t find my Dad and I my Mum was dancing, refusing to come out without him, wearing nothing but a pair of sneakers as the inside of the house was getting darker and darker…
I wasn’t scared but it was a ‘this is not good’ sort of feeling…
Venus – a house is usually about yourself. Are you taking on the woes of too many people and it’s exhausting you? If you can’t find your father, it might mean (as Father can relate to your male aspect) that you’re not standing up for yourself and setting boundaries, while your female side (Mother) is so busy looking after everyone else that it’s draining you big-time, and there’s no male energy standing up for you and your needs. This might be right off, by the way, but it might give you a handle on understanding your dream. Can you give a name to your dream? How did you feel when you woke? Etc., etc. But giving the face your home/yourself is getting darker, I think it’s a wake-up call to look after yourself a whole heap better than you’re doing now.

I got head-to-toe hives in 2003, lasted six months, which I am NOT saying you’re going to get, of course, but someone said to me that if you were like a cookie jar and handing out cookies to all and sundry but not replacing it with cookies for yourself, you’ll end up empty. i think this is about being hurt. Experiences of heart break/grief. Possibly trying to save others is about rescuing bits of yourself in the process. Your dad is unavailable (was it his dad that passed?) and your mum is possibly unavailable due to your dad’s absence. She copes with his absence by moving with a sense of freedom, this may be the key for you during this time. I think nakedness is about vulnerability and the sneakers are about escaping, ready to go. The darkness is possibly the depth of hurt that you’re feeling or possibly a fear of failure.

Yes, it was my dad’s dad that passed. My mum is remarkably vulnerable at the moment, she is retiring from her job which has been her passion for 40 years.
I however, am following hard and fast in my fathers footsteps and being a contract worker/freelance. Not a failure, but not what I desire.
However, the thought occurred to me today that even though it’s not what I want, it’s not bad. For instance, casual work means I get to do more things that will hopefully lead to more interesting work that I am passionate about.
Or something.

Last night’s dream was seeing the Sun in four stages of eclipse. They were lined up in the sky in a row (reminds me of Gemmy’s dual Moon dreams…) Was so interesting to see the rays of light and how they came down out of the sky. Perhaps the eclipse Sun depicts my own stages of change.
And then something written about “dark forces” and me trying to lock the sliding glass door where I live but it would not lock and broke off in my hand. Strangers sleeping on the lounge outside on the patio…

If I survive this Saturn transit, it’s looking good right now but it’s been rough. I want it there as a reminder, most of my tattoos are decorative but I have a few smaller ones that are symbolic and it works for me.

it’s too hard to write about here. Not because it’s painful, just complicated. There are some amazing developments happening but it’s been a serious thing to go up against. My (actual conjunct) saturn returns I moved back here and re broke up with ex after moving for him, broke, dumped by family (again) and faced possible cancer, (I only got the all clear to travel end of April). Having to change all my dreams around the body and what is possible, ie you have this much energy per day -which is unusual for me. Throwing myself into every challenge as hard as I can seems to be paying off. trusting own judgement, and as usual and a walk in what feels like a Giant circle, I am forced to know that doing your own thing IS the safest option when you are a weirdo little gypsy who needs to create her own universe on her own terms. There is no quick way to escape shit like this, you have to go through the core. I had to live with my choices of moving back and the like. But I tell you what its cultivated a fire in me like never before about shit I am just not prepared to put up with. shit I didn’t even know I was, and I am a hard player with boundaries should people step them. I want to live at the front of myself again. Under all that though, a very warm glow is growing again and some very interesting people have stepped out of the woodwork of late. Things will be interesting. I just hope I don’t fuck it all up. x

I’ve got a Chinese phoenix covering my left shoulder blade. It corresponds with my Scorpio/Pluto death/rebirth astrology aspects. It’s also only half done, as eventually I plan to get another phoenix to represent the idea of “double happiness”. For me I found an image that I felt a strong connection to and waited several months to see if it was a temporary fascination or if the hold would last. It did, so I knew it was the right choice for me. Finding a good artist is key too. I think it’s a good sign when they argue with you, being honest enough to tell you what will work and look good, rather than taking your money and anything you tell them.
Indigo magic fluid would be cool, but why painless? Surely there has to be some intense sensation for the meridian points to activate, or whatever it is they do. I didn’t mind the pain of tattooing and read a book while half of it was going on. I do have one spot on my lower back that the artist kept pressing his hand against. It’s very ticklish, so I’d tense up and giggle every time he leaned on it. Although if being tattooed with magical fluid then maybe the pain will translate into orgasmic spasms.
Double Happiness was a bar i frequented some years ago… imagine if you got all the names of your favourite bars tattoo’d across your body?

I see Saturn and Jupiter as opposing and balancing forces – they are the two zodiacal heavyweights. The greater malefic and the greater benefic. I feel that having them both tattoo’d on me is a source of power. The idea to get these tattoos came to me during a time that is the closest I can say I’ve ever come to a real spiritual awakening or awareness, and having them on me has served me well since. The tattoos remind me that knowledge (Jupiter) cannot be had without discipline (Saturn). And that structure and hard work is useless without the joy and expansion of new and full experiences that hard work brings. They’ve been super meaningful to me consistently since I got them.
To the person who was worried about my spreadsheet arm, I will say that the Saturn arm (my right) does occasionally manifest strange bruises and ailments underneath the tattoo – usually during times that are otherwise stressful. I find it interesting, but it’s probably a coincidence… if you believe in coincidence

god, I hadn’t even considered the sutro tower tattoo’s relationship to The Tower in tarot. the time in my life while i was getting it had everything to do with the meaning of the The Tower card, too – it was a painful process in every way, and an end in many ways. The tattoo still isn’t done. All in all it’s been much more intense and honestly, upsetting, than saturn ever could be. Thanks so much for pointing that out, what a meaningful observation.
