Always knew J.R.R. Tolkien was a Capricorn but never thought about just how much so until i re-read this other day:
“…All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king…”
I think it is the key-mystical prophecy from Lord Of The Rings but is it not SO haute Cap?!
I love baiting Capricorns for being careerist & control freaky megalomaniacs as much as anyone but there is a profound side to them: they’re on a mythic quest & often bearing some sombre secrets. This poem says it so gorgeously.
