Astro-Beauty: A Crab Look?
I am not sure why precisely but i consider BOTH of these looks really Cancerian-Crabby-Kataka.
AND WHAT is the hand thingie above called? Because I think that’s mega-Crab.
I think they would like the medieval vibe of it…no?
And in fact, whilst we’re on this, it is mostly Cancerians and Taureans who like going to/doing anything medieval themed isn’t it?
Like those naff banqueting halls, re-enactments and all. They love how flattering they think the clothes are, the ye olde vibe & that furniture was better made in those days. Perhaps also a world where there was Proper Help and no faddy food allergies.
Help. I am channelling someone. A batty Cancerian-Taurus relative, clearly. I did have a BBC Costume drama fetishising relative & I could elaborate but Cancerian-Taurus types are also v.litigious.

Eeek, NOT this Crab. The worse I ever got was to go through a severe minimalist phase where I only wore black and red for a year, in modern symmetrical shapes and wore only one long earring. I think it was my version of modern-anime-goth.
I like the whole lace thing but I can only abide by so much without feeling like a doily, and I reckon only pale waifish types ever get away with it, not mixed exotics like me who clearly have some kind of “hybrid vigor”. I think Toros can be extreme, they have either nailed their look, or they are out there a la Cher.
Crabs I’ve known have more of a hoarding syndrome, and tend to solidify into a look which they think is classic, but has actually dated. For instance Imelda Marcos’ 2,000 pairs of shoes but she had basically 2 mainstay fashion silhouettes with very little variance. Or dare I say it, a good friend who loves this one wig she wears constantly but which is just doing a complete disservice to her pretty face. I think there are security issues around Crab clothing at times.
I’ve fallen into it suddenly owning 6 of the same thing…but my Aqua Moon and Virgo Rising simply won’t take that crap. Mostly I spend my time reigning Venus in Leo..where my problem is the opposite, and it looks like my wardrobe supports a few different personalities. I’ve learned to live by simple rules no matter what the look, is it moi? is it enhancing? are the lines clean enough to make sense to a man?
Not that the aim is to please them..but the attraction factor holds sway. Oh, that and making sure I don’t look like I work in a mall and do nothing all day but work my discount out.
I love your site and have never posted before, but now I have to comment and say this:
I’m a Taurus. And I look damn fine in a ye olde fashioned circlet.
XD
Thank u!
And I am sure u DO!
I love the model’s dress-it’s very ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock.’
I’m not into the medieval look that much but I do like a bit of Gothic if it’s sexy- silk corsets, red velvet furnishings etc. but I lean more towards the Regency or Victorian era for inspiration.
My Taurean ascendant and planets in Libra sometimes make me wish I lived in an era where people wore beautiful clothes every day and cared about manners- a time before technology took over our lives and people swore in public (and yes, people, I do realise the irony of typing this on a computer) but as I can’t actually live in the 1840′s, I think I may have a lot in common with that BBC costume drama fetish relative of yours, Mystic.
darkhorse80, i’m totally with you about the manners and beautiful clothes and for the time before YouTube and people filming the vilest things just to upload it and impress their stupid friends and you hear stories about people in accidents and nobody helping because teenagers too busy filming it on their cameras. It saddens me, it really does. Oh dear, this Dark Moon has got me.
I have venus in Libra and i love a good BBC costume drama. Makes me swoon.
Ah, Venus in Libra. No wonder you’re holding out for Mr. Right – and good for you, I hope you find him. It’s better than being stuck with Mr. Not Right Now or Mr. Oh-so-very-Wrong.
Don’t settle, Scorpalicious! Clearly you’re an intelligent, discerning lady and you deserve a great guy. All the best.
awww thanks darkhorse80. And don’t worry, with venus in Libra i could NEVER settle. I simply cannot go there physically if there is no attraction on my part. Even during my one night stand phase, many years ago, i was always discerning (Mars in Virgo).
Happy New Year to you! May the new year bring you/us lots of lovely BBC dramas to watch
Thanks, Scorpalicious. Right back at ya!
Oh, here’s a question. You know when Pluto was in Sagittarius there was this craze in the mid-90′s to wear bike pants and sports gear like ordinary clothing, well if Capricorn is connected with history and heirlooms, does that mean someone will start a craze to bring back clothes that our great-great grandparents wouldv’e worn. I hope so. Bring back pantaloons, I say! Ok, maybe not.
Have to say i don’t get the hand thingy at all but i don’t wear bracelets and rings or very rarely.
I like the other look but I wouldn’t wear it personally…
LOL
I love that your channelling involves a batty english goth aunt who also wardrobes for BBC period drama re- enactments!
They do exist!
In art school I used to wear fine, short lace gloves, black or white.(with a thin frill near the wrist.) They are always interesting, no matter what one wears them with. Pisces sun/Leo rising.
ohhh….love that look !
The hand circlet thingy seems to be Cancer-like to me too. It reminds me of a crab claw. Will have to check out a friend’s astro as this is DEFINITELY something she would love.
With Merc and Venus in Taurus I am all for olde worlde fashion, decor, and lifestyle (manners, writing letters etc.) but with style not gaud. Too much of anything is never good.
Wondering if it’s Taurus that also makes me love those shows where people have to live in previous eras for a few months? Re-watching Outback House and The Colony at the moment.
Just looked at the new current planets chart to the left here. So many planets in Cap.
No wonder I’m feeling more serious about stuff.
yes…Cap always seems to say ” get your shyte together already “…I`m feeling it too.
The hand circlet-thingy is hideous – too much of everything, it makes my Virgo rising shudder
yes the widget thing is rad.
have been going on a bit about the earthed out emphasis in daily mystic
for me it is manifesting as diet obsession – not calorie restriction but mania of glaring at ingredients list and trying to concoct whole foods so that there ARE no stupid labels.
SUGAR in my Sanitarium lentil burgers. They may be tofu, lentil or whatever but they are STILL processed and so still have shit added to them.
This is classic Earth element emphasis
There was an article I read recently where they are linking processed foods to higher incidences of depression…they’re not sure which comes first though, the desire to eat fatty, salty, sugary, white flour health bombs and then depression, or if the depression spurs people onto find artifical unsustainable food highs….
Just had to check my falefal mix, only baddie is salt. I would be so PISSED if there was sugar too.
Could it be that Tauren/Cancerian woman have those beautiful voluptuous figures and ample bosom that make those clothes look so good in the first place?
Don’t get me wrong, but when I think of medieval, I think heaving bosom, a real actual hourglass figure and rouged cheeks…. hmm
I LOVE that hand thing with the circlet and chains. Reminds me a bit of Beyonce in that video…don’t do rings so much. Haven’t worn a ring since I read somewhere that they block the flow of your energy…
The hand thingy – is it a slave bracelet? Albeit a very fancy one.
that hand bracelet thingy looks like something a concubine or Harem girl would wear….or be forced to wear.
Hello, strange that i was wondering where you were for some reason, perhaps because
of all the Pisces around at mo, maybe coz you once tols me CQ was central queensland
& that was ne to me
I am a Cancer Taurus and I think that hand thing looks awful. I am completely anti-gaudy….I have Taurus moon and Taurus rising.
I think the hand rings circlet thing is called a “handflower”. I have one with wolves and stones on it, but alas no Crab anywhere on my chart except south node.
This is more true than you even know. I’m a taurus and I just can’t seem to figure out why my scorpio lover doesn’t want to watch every episode of the Tudors(a show about King Henry VIII) with me… hahaha
I’m all toro/kataka, and up to my early 20s I would have been 100% with you on this one Mystic. Now I want Paris & Italy in the 50s/60s – Dior New Look, capri pants, ballet flats, zippy Vespas, little fluffy dogs all the way.
The cancerians I know would not like this at all. Way too fussy for them. That hand thing anyways.
The evoking past ages with a quirky little homage through attire, well yeah, but it’s funkier than this. It has to look as though they did more than spit lace at themselves. Not meaning to be mean for means sake with this comment, I could just see them hating this representation of themselves.
THANK YOU. So true. My Virgo Rising chimes in with, how exactly do you clean that thing???
Which one the over-wrought jewellery or lacespasm?
both
MM, What is it you know I don’t – how come Taurena/Cancre fall for Medieval thang? It’s true, fersure. All that Drak Aegis (!) okay, Dark Ages, stuff turns their wooden cranx: no Enlightenment for them. I jest doan geddit. How do you explain It? Signed, Lightloving Virgo/VirgoRising
Merc, Venus and Sat in Cancer…hmm, not for me or most Cancerians I know. It vibes a little moody Libran to me, the many ring thing.
Sign this crabby up for 2!! I used to wear this stuff all the time, before I left my extensive wardrobe ie. costume trunk in another country far, far away ::sniffle:: And I swing both ways: minimalist black and red and corsets and frippery. I blame the conflict on my Cancer Venus and Virgo Moon
p.s. Don’t know why today is only the first time I’ve ever encountered your blog, but I’m loving it already! Fashion and art and ooh la la!
The hand thing is ugly the bottom chick is cool
