Sam Worthington has about a trillion planets in Leo, even though he LOOKS like an Earth Sign rising dude. Virgo? That would put all his Leo stuff in the 12th House – i was talking someone the other day who’d just met him and she said when he sold everything and went to Hollywood, he took one bag of clothes, the Bible and The Alchemist. And I love how he always sounds Leonic in interviews: a non-stop I-Am-The-Greatest rant-boast that’s actually really inspirational.
Anyway, he is apparently up to play DRACULA in Dracula Year Zero, a sort of bio-pic of Vlad The Impaler in which we get to see his more humane side. I guess if Sam is playing him, there will definitely be a hell of a lot more compassion for the gentleman. I just tried to post a pic of Vlad The I and the browser crashed. Unusual. Spooky. No Vlad pic. And I had a cold chill looking at it. Yick! Sam please don’t be the original Dracula. I don’t think it fits the Leo Qi.I think he should play a hunky ANGEL. Leo vampires should be camp and like George Hamilton. Previously, it was established that Aquarius is the best sign for vampires. Like Count Duckula – still my fave.

Vlad the Impaler’s back story is an horrific tale in itself (it was ABC the other night on “Real Horror”). In short: Asshole King gives his teeange son to enemy King to “toughen him up” only to have son return a total psycho from non-stop emotional, physical and sexual abuse…
Perhaps you can already feel hearts breaking watching such an innocent looking guy immerse himself in a dark role? Shadows of Heath Ledger maybe???
If the 12th house shades and conceals, and Leo explodes onto the scene, maybe, just maybe something darker like this could work out for Sam??

Nate, didn’t know much details on the Vlad story – that’s so sad & terrible. Given that angle on the story, I can easily imagine Worthington in the role.
The Heath Ledger comparison is apt – I hadn’t made that connection before but there is an interesting potential for SW to take some roles that might have gone to Ledger if he was still here. I don’t know if SW is as brilliant – haven’t seen anything but Avatar yet – but the type fits.So my vote is thumbs up on Vlad – I’m far more interested in the trauma angle than the tired old dark, brooding, vampiric sadist angle anyhow.

p.s. And as to the multiple Leos, that seems to fit the role. What would you get with a severely abused child who needs lots of ego stroking to be happy & has strong leadership inclinations? You’d end up with a warped, egotistical, ferociously angry, charismatic leader. Again, thumbs up to the casting.

Oh i mean it more from a “damaging the psyche” kind of role. I just think with that much Leo going on that a dark role like Vlad (and Vlad’s more psychologically fuq’d up as the Joker) might end up doing something terrible to Sam.

Oh – you’re actually worried about the actor’s mental health? I was just thinking about how much he could bring to the role with all that alpha Leo energy. Well, he seems stable so far… no substance abuse that we know of…? No breakdowns…? He apparently likes to curse a lot in interviews – maybe he’ll get any twisted psych issues out through cathartic explosions at journalists – not that I necessarily approve of abusing the press, but it’s better than overdosing.

If Sam pulls it off then he’ll nail the destruction of innocence/descent to madness thing. If he doesn’t portray this (which I guess requires more “depth” than that much Leo implies, but I think the 12th house will surprise us here).

I’m not sure I buy the story as portrayed by the tabloids re: his burst. Not saying he didn’t have an angry episode there, just that I don’t have as complete a picture as I’d like. But if he were, well yes, it’d be cathartic for him.

I loved the “The Machinist”. .. very creepy. I love Bale’s intensity and his dedication – that is why he had the outburst. Apparently the director kept ruining his concentration. Who wouldn’t go off! He takes his acting very seriously. He was brilliant in Rescue Dawn.

christian bale would rock this role but with all the batman backstory I think producers maybe wary of people not seeing the film as a backstory in it’s own right.
Personally I would like to see someone who could pull off the horror of being born into a genetic lineage of war and fates of kings more like cate did with elizabeth than one mans journey into darkness.

Sam looks a bit par-boiled in this pic… Anyway, I went out with a guy born a few days later than Sam.
Sam is a Fire Dragon on top of being Million Planets in Leo Man. I have to say the ego of the ex born around this time was HUGE. He was well intentioned and all and very bright, just hard to be around 24/7, ostentatious and no sense of proportion.
Yeah, I understand why you feel this is not the most appropriate choice Mystic, but maybe he will draw on something and surprise us? Leo Dragons make for good king types at least. The darkness might just come across as thwarted ego though, which would be a shame.

Sam Sam Sam … he’s got the everyman look coupled with that indefinable “X” factor. He’s a Rockingham, WA born boy … that was a rough town in his boyhood. He’s like a sexy bogan. Very convincing in Avatar, although I’m not sure that he was the piece de resistance of that movie … it was so overwhelmingly original, entertaining and amazingly James Cameron takes a massive swipe at the politics of George W. Bush and gets away with it. The CGI was so well integrated and incredible that I had to forcibly remove my designers “how the HELL did they do that?” hat and just sit back to enjoy …
Oh ok back to Sam. Multiple Leo man as Vlad. I don’t know … Hugo Weaving is an incredibly versatile character actor and he’s an Aries. Charlise Theron who I believe is a full blown astro Leo has turned in some incredible character performances.
Personally I think a well trained character actor can apply themselves to any role and astrology makes no difference.

He seems to think alot about his role choices, so it’s a fair bet that there’s an underlying plan for playing such a dark character, even if it is just to be different and stick it to everyone else!
