Double Happiness – Lucy Deslandes
Monthly Flying Stars 5th January – 3rd February
Monthly energies can be a trigger that may lead to an increase in certain types of experiences. If you spend long periods of time in an area such as working, sleeping or your entrance is located in a particular sector have a look below and see if you experience any of the issues mentioned below. If so you may want to try a remedy and see if that helps to harmonise things.
EAST – The monthly energy is quite nice – represents wisdom and intelligence, however ensure the area is free of clutter and mess otherwise you may experience relationship problems! Also if you have pets in this area watch being bittern!
SOUTH EAST – Whilst sickness may be an issue with the monthly energy it also supports your money luck for the Year of the Ox so this is generally good. If experiencing any sickness use six Chinese coins or a brass calabash to help absorb this energy.
SOUTH – Be mindful of legal issues & relationship problems. Keep the area as beautiful as possible – a splash of red would work well.
SOUTH WEST – If you have a child’s bedroom in this area you may find them quite rebellious this month and it may also indicate problems with authority so be clear in your communication and double check your facts before freaking out!
WEST – Double whammy this month – not a good place to spend time and illness is enhanced. Playing some piano music would work well in addition to using your brass calabash and/or six Chinese coins to absorb the sickness energy.
NORTH WEST – This is a great place for studying as the combo represents intelligence and academic success. If however the area is cluttered and messy it could indicate relationship problems or a romance turning sour so have a good clean up.
NORTH – Whilst the prosperous wealth energy is visiting the North in January it is also strengthens the challenging yearly energy located here. Be careful of broken ribs or tendons if front door or bedroom is in this location.
NORTH EAST – The visiting star here enhances problems with the feet so look after them. A good reflexology massage or pedicure may be in order – it’s a great excuse!
Important Note: These are monthly Feng Shui energies & this is general Feng Shui advice, without – obviously – taking into account your unique living situation. Ideally, one has one’s house’s base Feng Shui done first.

Very nice mystic, also with Feng Shui to help improve your sleep, make sure that you remove all clutter from under your bed. This allows the Qi to flow around you when asleep. Clean under your bed to help improve your sleep and remove any restlessness. I am studying Feng Shui right now and working towards my certification soon. Have a great teacher but as he keeps tell me practice, practice…nice advice by the way for monthly stars…:)

Hi Tommy, Absolutely agree. The energy in the bedroom is extremely important as this relates to our health and relationships. Actually I have done a few You Tube clips including one on Feng Shui for the bedroom and also looking at clutter in a home. You can check out heaps of feng shui info at http://www.fengshuiliving.com.au under my blog section. Cheers

Mystic, I have so much sugar in my brain I would not have a clue where my north, south, east or west is in regards to my abode!
Tommy your bed clutter stuff made my eyse go boing, as since my ex moved out, that side of the bed has become a filing area!
Mail, books, papers, journal, clothes etc etc has been piling up. It is like my mini rebellion! Tres childish I know, but I guess I am sending a message to the universe non? Oh under the bed I am doing and Imelda Marcos and have 4 large crates – black shoes, red shoes, multi coloures shoes, boots. I would be a Feng Shui practitiner’s nightmare methinks!

hmm maybe I should invest in a compass?
Can I be rude and say that I am an Honorary blonde at present? This is what my highly superior minded gal pal called me! -
ok finally a feng shui artefact that’d work with my decor – I LOVE that double happiness glyph or whatever it’s called – no bells, no tassles, just a nice pleasing symmetrical shape. Libra likes. I haven’t even read the thing but the pictures I like

OMG the aqua just walked past and immediately recognised the symbol – said that’s the symbol that used to be on double happiness crackers when we were kids – I’m regressing to a simpler time, a time when it was ok to set things on fire… Those crackers came in huge strands and went on and on leaping around the garden – or the neighbour’s garden or the road depending on your level of naughtiness – and banging. Nice memory. They went well stuck in fruit and hurled at your target of choice too….

Liz if you’re still out there I’m wondering if you can tell me, is there a particular style of feng shui that uses cures that are kind of pared back and simple like Lucy’s image above? I could see myself getting into feng shui if it was possible to do it without tassles & bells etc – is there such a thing as a minimalist school of feng shui? And I use western magic – herbs & salt & mirrors, bottles with stuff in them buried in garden etc to fix up my house – is there any way feng shui can work with it or are the rules like the ones about dried plant matter prohibitive to them working in concert?

Hi Whatever, Traditional Feng Shui is actually really simple. Once your home has been analysed you are recommended favourable elements, colours etc to use in different areas. You don’t actually have to use any tassels etc. Bells are usually recommended if the element of metal is required, but once again it is really up to your creative mind as to what you could actually use. A calabash is actually another remedy but once again you can also use a vase in the shape of a calabash. There is a lot out there about “New Age” Feng Shui but I focus on Traditional or Classical which focuses more on the purpose of rooms and if they support the occupants in health, wealth and relationships!
Cheers, Liz-
