Dark Mooned

php3dWsm5PMGervasio Gallardo

Despite the libidinal under-throb of the sexy & ambitious trine between Mars and Venus, the Dark Moon has always a sombre edge.

It naturally involves the surfacing of old emo & the residue of not-quite-done-with-yet angst. Tres psych of course & one’s mind turns to 8th house matters; sex, death, the occult & other peeps money. Go with it for the rebirthing potential & best to do one’s existential mope-out now as it’s all go from the New Moon in Saggo on Weds.

Plus Venus is going merrily ape, trining Mars, then squaring Uranus and THEN conjuncting Pluto + whizzing over an Eclipse degree. Ladies, you may want to exfoliate/wax in between the bouts of metaphysics & random irritability surges toward ex-lovers that goes with the Dark Moon.

My sister called me to ask me if it was normal to think you are crazy just before you get your period. “like, really crazy” She is Libra sun and going through her Saturn return. Poor thing.
    Talk about dark thoughts.

Hey beautiful MM ppl, anyone know anything about the symbolism of head shaving? I guess it’s a dark moon thing to do. I have this incredible urge to do it, even though it’s winter where I am in Japan. Haven’t done it since the obligatory shaving-off-the-dredlocks in 1995/6. Your shared wisdom much appreciated.

Generally head shaving can be seen as a way of disconnecting from the energy of a situation you feel you have out-grown, don’t you think? Oliver Cromwell used it as an act of defiance, so did Britney Spears I guess! Japan is a country where there is a huge subconscious pull to conform, this may be your need to rebel being expressed, or conversely have you felt much in need of a new start? I read before you have been visiting temples and feeling much moved by the beauty there, sounds amazing, Nihon daisuki da yo!

I used to shave my shave although not bald like Brittant but more like pixie short in platinum to wash that man out of my hair when breaking up.
If I wanted to get rid of him. When I a still feel atached I don’t go to the extremes.
It’s libertaing but it’s absolutely essential it’s done with your favorite hairdresser who will make you look fabulous, not horrible.
The point is look stunning! ;)

I shave my head (no.2) every few weeks, its a great feeling and I think an easy way to dump shite. My wife has done it a couple of times, she looked amazing, I loved it. If you can, go for it. It will grow back.

From what I know hair is supposed to hold residual memory. It actually holds your DNA. I think that is why it is connected to leo for the link to ego and self. Shaving the head is seen as an act of spiritual humility to free oneself of history and previous experiences so you are clean, back to naught. I think this is why it is so connected to Buddhism. Note how Sage’s whom we value for wisdom in a timely sense (Saturn) is always depicted with long hair, and the magi.

I shaved my head for a few years and I loved it! I think more women should. Just make sure you have a wardrobe that can handle the change otherwise you will feel a bit stylisticly challenged. Winter sminter some good headwear will get you through.

It can also be a reaction to grief – Yoko Ono shaved her head after John was killed, and I think its a traditional Japanese grief ritual (read it somewhere many years ago – not sure of validity).

But generally I think FireTrine captured the energy… its about moving on from a particular space/time/situation

I agree with the shedding things symbolism – new start. I shaved my head a few years ago as part of an ending one bit of my life and starting another.
Added bonus, rubbing your head with no 1 or 2 hair length is so soothing. it feels like velvet. however, hair keeps you warmer than you think, so you’ll need a good beanie!

      1. Ms.’s avatar

The only thing I was shedding when I was head shaving was female gender expectations. I wasn’t in that space at all. I was celebrating, but that is just how I felt personally to offer a different view to traditional why women shave their head thing.

You never indulge an image impulse on a Dark Moon.
I cut all my hair off when I was 19 & it was some sort of a ritual gesture toward starting again. It worked really well as i was sick of men chasing after me and they kept well clear for a while, lol.

This thread is old so you may not see this, but I also read something about a need for massive change like head shaving being related to transformation in another way.. Some people, apparently it’s quite rare, finish their life goals and reincarnate energetically which can take a bit of time, within the current lifetime, moving on to new life tasks. It’s a bit complex to talk about here, but is related to the energy of the Hara Line, the energy line used in asian martial arts. Your comment on reincarnation reminded me of that.

Am fighting temptation to text Cap boy. Think I should not overwhelm him with Scorpionic possessiveness. Will see him later in week. Need to learn patience ….

    … quickly. :)

He spent a great deal of the evening trying to work out what makes me tick & how I work (felt a bit like a bug being poked at, and I didn’t think of the pun until after typing that LOL).

I have no clue. I go on raw emotion. Kinda like an Andy Warhol version of Homer Simpson.

Weird watching the process of someone systematically deconstructing you. I really hadn’t thought about myself like that before. He’s better than an analyst (ok untrained, but I strongly suspect most analysts don’t include certain services in their sessions)

Feel a bit like he’s challenged the very basis of my personality and I can’t find a real reason for being the way I am. Very Dark Moonie really – Scorpionic rejuvenation, from the ashes etc etc. Except that I’m not sure yet what to turn into. (I can imagine my ex saying “A human being?” LOL)

I bet he has no idea he has provoked all this, either.
