Astro-Chess & the Virgoan Supermodel

carmen-kass-13472

Virgo SuperModel Carmen Kass at a chess championship.

I was wondering which signs would excel at chess, if any & whilst researching the subject I found out that the Virgoan Supermodel Carmen Kass, is not only a chess champion but president of the Estonian National Chess League. Her current lover is a Taurean chess champion (both Earth signs, bliss!) and Ms Kass has recently fought for but lost the rights for her native country to host the international Chess Olympics. Germany got it.

Three points:

* Chess goes in and out fashion, does it not? Occasionally a sexy chess playing scene is bunged into a movie? I was MADE to join a stupid chess club to calm me down aged 14-ish (Uranus sextile Uranus is always fun and NO, being made to do a very classical and trad ancient game with RULES is not the best thing for any Uranian transit.) Even the sitting down bit is a problem.  So i ignored all the boring stuff and learned ONE really fancy gambit. Something to do with risking the Queen.

* The Virgoan Supermodel Chess Champion ideal is kind of cool, yes?

* I researched – a bit – the chess champions of the world  and guess what?!!! The last TEN have all been MUTABLE SIGNS: Non-stop Gemini, Pisces, Virgo and Sagittarius.  I would have surmised that the Fixed Signs – Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius – would have been more strategic and patient. But there is a total bias toward the Mutables. WHY? Amorality?  Fluidity? Your thoughts?

    Interesting…
I was taught to play chess at a ridiculously young age, probably to keep me busy as usual. Mental stimulation is a huge turn on & I have always been drawn to anything that stimulates the mind such as puzzles or crosswords etc. Although at times I have the attention span of an ant! lol. I do remember asking another kid to play a game of chess with me & they laughed… lol

Gem/pisces rising & then there is Mars in Virgo ….

The only Chess champion I know is my cousin… who is a Leo (cancer cusp). Trained up by his Caps father.
He could beat me in 2 move when he was 11 (and I was throughly drunk on gin mixers that his father made me and swearing loudly. Which was frowned upon by the 11 year old. Man, he was uptight).
Other Leo cousin tried to be good at chess… kept getting bored with it and then loosing so we could start another game (wtf?).

Ha Venus, same here..in my 20′s was beaten by 9 year old cousin. Haven’t played it since :-)
Would have thought it too slow for a Sagg as in sitting still long enough.
Gemini for sure as they think there is only the fast & the dead.

      Virgo’s like of manipulating?
Have always adored the J’Adore ad with that golden girl, she’s out of this world in that
pix, the True Virgin & then Brains trust…gggrrrr8 ;-)

My 6yo Gemini loves it and beat his dad on his third ever game, and by the fifth was suggesting moves for Dad to improve his game LOL. Bed times are now punctuated with cries of ‘Just one more game, please!’

I should add that this would be impressive except his Dad, a Libran, isn’t a great player!

It’s probably because we are so creative, Mystic. Can see things from all different angles, good spatial concepts etc.
I beat my bro-in-law so many times he tipped up the board!!
Being good at Chess and draughts is linked with music, maths and language,…all things that involve patterns. If you can see the patterns in things( the big picture/wood for the trees etc) you grasp the concepts a whole lot quicker.

Chess is not so wholesome as it seems. I’ve taken to read the chess column in my local paper who reports mostly on international comps that are full of very narky vindicative behaviour. Teams throwing games, plyaers being ejected etc makes very interesting readin g- better than any womens goss mag.

There’s not much that my children can shock me with but when youngest Aries rocket car loving son told me he had joined the school chess group AND won a few games, it stopped me in my tracks. It think it’s really cool for him because he can have a hard time sitting still & concentrating – usually.

mutables: innate ability to hold many different, even conflicting, ideas, concepts, strategies, in ones mind all at the same time . daresay good for chess with a number of strategic moves possible at any one time?

I ahve been told the a good Chess player will have at least 2-3 moves planned ahead. They know what your next move will be because they have the whole game worked out in their head.
I have never been that good at thinking that far ahead. I play defence. I am a good blocker:)

I think you nailed it… Lateral thinking sounds right. My Aries thinking is way to straightforward, and I have no patience, AND I hate thinking more than three steps ahead….
Not a board tipper- but at least that’s be PHYSICAL! lol….

    Really- chess gossip?

Another ex of mine … the Virgo with Libra in everything was brilliant at chess. Actually he doesn’t have Libra in everything … it’s an even match between a chart heavily weighted by Virgo and Libra plus a Piscean Asc. This guy would not give a crap about the pencils on the virgo porn thread, but could basically play a game of chess without actually looking at the board … conceptualising it in his mind as the game proceeded – including being able to see about 3-4 moves ahead. It was a fuqing spinout let me tell you. He told me the best chess players have highly developed pattern recognition ability.

I love chess but I get too impatient with the strategic aspects.

ohhh that’s what my Virgo Dad does….he is a strategy nut…a very productive sharing the wealth type of nut, but man he can see an opportunity a mile off.

He is a killer chess player. I haven’t played chess with him since he was a kid…so maybe I’m better at it now myself. As I’ve aged I’ve resisted less against any virgoan traits I have. 3Xplanets lurking about.

Although my Dad would really give a crap about those pencils. It would take more energy to ignore them than it would be to fix them…so I’m sure he would make them all one ended, and use a razor to get the best even point to each one(he used to do this for me when I was at primary school)…I’d be helping with the colour gradient because that was doing my head in.

My bro easily best chess player I know- Gemini. Quiet. Knows all the strategies. Plays Japanese game Go in his spare time – like chess but worse. I also gem, yes, I often think about things/problems/situations like a cube, a rubix cube in my head, the sides and rows rotating and moving in different combinations until click! I’m no good at chess, Aquarius rising, it’s too much commitment!

Yes i can see Virgo loving chess! One of my ex-bfs was a local chess shark. The mutables have that know when to hold’em/fold’em thing going for them which i think they make them luckier for gambling type ventures or for things with a variable outcome. The fixed signs wouldn’t know when to change direction in a plan and would stick to their guns which can sometimes fail if you went with the wrong plan. The cardinal signs would start something and get bored. I myself prefer Go to chess but I am Libra so I’m not sure why. Capturing territory (Go goal) vs. capturing a specific piece (chess goal) seems more elegant.

My theory is that the mutables are likely to have their Mercury in a fixed sign…

Me three with Merc is Sagg. Makes me the chatty one. I’ve managed to think of 17 variations to the conversation before the next person responds. Makes me a bit of an info polymath – able to have many thought directions at one, 17 screens open on the computer etc…. Not mad keen on chess. Don’t get it.
Aqua ma loves it. Most Gems I know enjoys it, and they all love sudoku as well. I prefer word games….

Merc in saggo also equals a whole lot of bullshitin apparently – i think it was a person with merc in saggo that said ‘I DO NOT LIE! I JUST EXAGGERATE THE TRUTH!’ lol! love this quote!

My Virgo dad kicks my Pisces’ butt at chess (which he loves). He’s real good. I beat him once, but only because he was trying to watch the news at the same time.

My Virgo dad’s a killer chess player too and being quite skilled with his hands and wood, made his own chessboard. He was always trying to teach me but i never had the time. Never had the patience to sit still long enough. Anything that required sitting down for long periods of time made me restless, i preferred to run around and climb trees. The IDEA of chess has always appealed to me even though i hate board games. I loved Scrabble and Monopoly though.

I’m a Gem, never been any good at chess. I prefer backgammon, or cards, like uka, 500 or gin (and gin rummy). Really though I prefer pool, or croquet or lawn bowls, got some kind of physicality, quite social, and have strategy elements. Croquet is the ultimate strategy/playing dirty game. Hilarious. And hard to not run about yelling ‘off with their heads’. Of course hardly ever play any of those things and pretty crap at all of them. I’m much more interested in process than outcome, so don’t tend to get ‘good’ at things. Not enough Aries in me obviously, and perhaps too much Taurus.
