Sooo, an ex-lover of baseball champion Alex Rodriguez (A.k.a. A-Rod and the gentleman linked to Madonna for a bit) has come forth and told the NY Daily News that “his vanity is of mythic proportions.”
My god, the gentleman is a LEO and an wealthy, sports superstar Leo at that. I mean, what’s not to indulge there. But the Ex then claims that the gigantic pics of himself above the athlete’s bed are of him as a Centaur.
That’s interesting. It makes me think that someone has done his chart and that he’s got Saggo Rising & thus he’s sort of working that. Because, some astrologers WOULD say that. I mean, to work the Sagittarius Rising angle, for extra luck. No birthtime online for him but he’s got Neptune in Saggo at 9 degrees. Saggo Rising would fit as he is (a) obviously into sports and (b) he has a certain goo-goo eyed Neptunian charisma along with the Leonic stuff.
Or maybe he does not give a damn for his astro and he’s just really, really into Centaurs?
Or perhaps the ex-lover was a bit dim and the mythological creatures that A-Rod had himself painted into as gigantic portraits hanging above the bed (I would never do that but so totally admire the chutzpah) were something else…like Minotaurs? He has got Mars in Taurus.

Odd. I dated a Leo man with, of course, extreme vanity but with a fetish of mythic proportions. He would get most turned on by the anthropomorphic figures the centaur and minotaur (particularly when they were pictures from a website that should come wrapped in a brown paper bag)
AND, oddly enough, he was Sagg Rising. Gemini Moon though…

Well, as a Centaur, i find his connection to a half horse half human to correspond to my
having lions as talismans.
Have full on connection to Leo’s and as i diary wrote about that in French Polynesia,whilst surrounded by Leo’s who were controlling my life at the time.
Have only Saturn in Leo on chart, so my lessons from Leo’s?
Realised how much stronger they were than me in many ways. Many metaphors & much anthropomorphising.
Don’t Leo’s love their beds & chalice (Lalique preferably).

I am a Sagg (four planets in Sagg, according to my natal chart) but the sports essentialism does not fit at all. I have long legs and enjoy exercise but loathe competitve spots and always have. As an adolescent, I was always marginalised to the role of “reserve” for Saturday sports matches because I was too eccentric, not competitive and had no sporting self-efficacy.
For me the Sagg manifestation is philosophy and being arty-farty (I work in the “yarts” and academia). It took me ages (painfully) to work that out. I think, respectfully, that the asssumption of the Sagg/sports conflation is superficial and I think that that Jupiter-ruled notions of liberation and expansion need not manifest solely in sport.
Happy to discuss, needless to say. because this is merely my lay-person’s/egocentric view.

I’ve known lots of sagos they are into activity of one sort or another and so natural at it but can philoshise away too.
I can totally dig the centaur image. I know a few elite sports people and they have to be so focussed on themselves and ahve a huge ego to survive the ups and downs. -
The huge ego doesn’t fit either – sorry to be disagreeable – optimism yes, but that is not that same as ego. Mind you the wound in my chart is quite profund so perhaps that tempers the ego but, again, with four planet in Sagg, I would still maintain that the sports/ego thing does not fit me. I’ve known of Sagg educators (not me), for example, who believe in their students’ ability to reach their full potential and that belief is so contagious that it affects their students positively. That may be perceived as ego, but it isn’t. It’s optimism/empathy. That Jupiter expansive quality which does not necessarily focus on the self.
Or perhaps both this and Leogroover’s commentary are true? I always learn from, and am grateful for, Mystic’s Haute/Low summaries of the various sun signs.

Has anyone noticed how many leo’s have cats eyes?? My best friend does and so does this guy^^ ^^ – LEO/SAGGO gee that would be a lot to handle you have the optimisim of a saggo combined with the domineering nature of a leo!

This Moon is making me feel a bit out of sorts and peeved.
But as a fire combo I am getting tired of being hit with the vanity stick (it’s like the ugly stick but glossier). I am told constantly that Leo’s have big egos and as a Rising Aries too that well, I should be in the army or something, or harassing some poor creature in court. My poor Sagg Moon takes a beating when all it wants is some quiet philosophising with friends and some fire-lit nights with fun on the beach… I have had enough.
If Mystic can grump on about friends who can’t be bothered and people nicking pennies by forwarding her stuff, then I can have a vent on this constant astrological criticism I suffer as a Fire person. Yes, enough is enough!!! I have met plenty of vain Librans, Scorpions, Cancerians, Cappy’s you name it…. It’s called being HUMAN people, my God, no one sign owns humanity in any of it’s forms, despite this being a forum for ego and prying in the form of ASSTROLOGY at times…
I am going to trudge out my door and go to Brunswick street for a coffee in really hideous clothes without looking in the mirror and not a bit of my vain fireyness is going to stop me (though I make check the car mirror, I won’t lie, I like being presentable) as I go order a blintz.
I don’t have Cat’s Eyes, I do have a lot of ethusiasm and optimism, but then I also have ADD which means I don’t really learn from experience; I only like doing sports solo and when I won’t be hassled to do them and I have never learned anything about Low Leo that summarised the issues I clearly have…

I think he would be hotter than hell away from the crowds and if i could afford it or were not so modest, i would love to have a huge picture of myself above the bed. ONly not as a centaur but as some other mythologicla creature. me as a mermaid? If i were earning billions a year like him and just paid to be amazing at some sport and look amazing, i would hang whatever the fuq i wanted in my bedroom and ex lovers going to the newspaper to complain about my VANITY? i am SO sorry but how tawdry…the worst she can say is he had a giant portrait of himself???
