Kitchen-Witch Creed

“The Kitchen Witch’s Creed

In this pot, I stir to the sun ?An’ follow the rule of harming none.

Banishment of bane when goin’ winddershins; ?An’ with water and salte negativity is cleansed.

Household duties are more than chores, ?Magick abounds when mopping floors.

With this broom, I do sweep ?To clean my house and safely keep.

Marigold, Basil, Thyme and Yarrow ?My spell is cast for a better tomorrow.

Lemons for joy and apples for health, ?The power within brings great wealth.

And, in this kitch I do pray ?To truly walk the Witches Way…”

O i do so love sacred house cleaning, witchy herbs et al & this creed is so cool – does anyone know where it comes from?

And what that black scorp-fish thing is on the floor of the witch-modelle might be and hands up who knows which ritual a lit red candle is required for when one is already poised quite precariously on the rim of an empty cauldron?

Plus, I only just noticed this -who says Mercury in Aries can’t be thick on occasion- is it her leg or her cauldron that is chained up???  Are the art directors seriously so sleazy that they’d either suspect their p.a.s of ripping off their crap cauldron, her of running off or needing to add b/d refs to an already suss large red candle scenario?

I love these campy old book covers, they’re heaps naff eh.

What’s the yellow thing on the side? I can see a broom handle there too (lol). I don’t think the chain is linked to her shoe but it certainly looks that way. Kind of like the Bardot album cover where it looks like Katie Underwood is urinating on a toy dog.

It’s really sleazy that they got her sitting there looking sultry at us with her legs spread and suggestively cluthing a long red candle. It’s quite perverse in a subtle way.

And lol at the name “Abragail”. Sounds like she’d be one of those clueless nut jobs who claims to be an uberwitch without knowing anything about witchcraft and honestly believes she’s the goddess Hecate incarnated.

I think (its just a theory) that it comes from the ancient tradition of midwives and wise~womyn who helped the poor before the men and the xtians took over religion and medicine.

In my family we have 7 generations of men and women who settled in Australia. I’m 5th generation. There are women in our family tree who birthed 10, 12, 8, 9 ….HEAPS of kids in the bush…. While hubby/father was away driving bullock drays.

Willam Clarke B…. was exported from England for nicking stuff. But he set foot in Oz with a ticket of leave…. A free man. Governor Macquarie’s day.
He used to brag that he was once part of the Royal stables. May well have been cos no~one could match him and his sons on a bullock & dray.

Margaret Sefton came as a poor lass from Ireland and settled here with W.C.B.

They did it. They fought fire and flood, isolation, loneliness, god, alcohol and the powers~that~be. All with shared wisdom, sheer gguts n determination and resourcefulness.

Mint to keep your breathe fresh. Lavender to calm frazzled nerves. Roses for love and abundance. Calendular cream (marygolds) to ease pain. Eucalyptus oil as a disenfectant and the glorious vanilla bean to sweeten your life (and cakes)

    Where is everyone~??

I always dress like that to mop the floors.

The chain is the handle of the cauldron. Or is it a handbag? What do you suppose is in it? Campbell’s eye of newt?

The thing on the floor is a worry. I do hope no sentient beings were harmed in that naff cover shoot. Valaria sounds like a skin condition.

    Widdershins?
It means going clockwise or anticlockwise?

    Pulp Fiction Book.
    Gives Wiccan a bad name.
    Just don’t burn black candles.

it looks like the cauldron is chained to me – attached to a handle. no witch would allow herself to be chained up! :)

I know this may sound a bit weird, but have any of you performed rituals spells etc with your own menstrual blood (please forgive multiple sagg).

I did a spell with own urine and it actually worked.

    Sorry if i offend anyone..

haven’t tried blood but i’m sure it would be even more potent than urine. They don’t call it blood magic for nothing i guess.

Yes, have tried urine spell and it works! I don’t normally do spells but this one was given to me by a psychic because i had no choice.
