A Slumber Quest For Those Who Sleep With Another Person

treebednr1Shawn Lovell Metalworks

Here it is & it only works if your bedpartner is someone you know reasonably well. eg; co-habit with or whatevs.

For one night, you sleep on their side of the bed. And he/her on your side. You wear the thing the bedpartner normally wears to sleep in and they wear yours.

You have their dreams or at the very least a major insight into their subliminal meanderings. Magic. Weird. My now-Ex Ramzilla husband said i was totally bang-on with my description of his dreams. He was visibly impressed. Said I was even describing his typical dreamscape really well.

But he totally refused to discuss what his dreams had been like, only to say that they had been uncharacteristic and unusual. Would they, I ask, align with what he thought my actual subconscious was like? He wouldn’t comment. Nada. Virgo Rising, you understand. Discreet? Freaked? Or simply unwilling to extrapolate given that he wouldn’t don MY sleepwear to enter the realms of Morpheus?

And o.m.g who is kind of impressed but flipped out by the bed? I think it would give me even stranger dreams than i already have. Be cool if you could attract real birds into it though. Or would it be?

I love the bed, but wonder how it would look once the dust and spider webs got to it?

The bed is divine and not at all flippy . . . unlike the notion of sleeping on the WRONG side of the bed! now that’s madness.

maybe some owls to hang out above you while you slept – is it metal or wood though? I would want one made of wood. I’ve heard its bad for your energy field to sleep in a metal bed.

As Wood Tiger (Tiger’s element is also wood, so it is like Wood Wood) I know I am not meant to sleep on metal EVAH. However if you are a metal animal with metal attributes it may resonate nicely for you.

The day I win Tatts or make my millions I will have this bed is made up in a blackish wood, am thinking ebony might be attractive?!

I would have to put something in the nest, don’t know about the symbolism of sleeping with your partner under an ‘empty nest’.

Shawn’s a woman and the bed is metal, from the look of the process pics on the site. I like it and like the idea of owls hanging out in the boughs (not crapping on me as I sleep though)

In David Linton’s shop in Maleny, I saw a handcrafted wooden tree bough bed. It was cool, but not as dreamy as the one above.

I’m still picturing the Ramzilla ex decked out in one of Mystic’s pink frilly nighties.

V interesting… the first night my ‘co-habitor’ and I switched sides, he dreamt about me leaving the next morning and not returning his texts or calls, without a trace; that same evening I had been having second thoughts about leaving him/ the relationship, and leaving them suddenly sans explanation (as you do).

And of course because he dreamt it, or, actualised my sub-conscious, it didn;t need to play out in real life… no?

    We’re still co-habiting…

    That bed is the dream!
Once, my now ex-husband (Cancer as) awoke to find we had had the same dream – only from our own perspectives. It involved a party with the Rolling Stones and he wondered to Keef where I had gone and yes, I had gone off – with Charlie! Weird as, but we could describe the location and events to each other to a tee. Uber connection while asleep. The most amazing shared dream experience ever. Has anyone out there ecer shared the same dream with their partner?

Yes, my Leo ex and I dreamed we were checking out records at a market while dreaming. There was some music going and lots of people wandering about looking a vaguely hippy. He was a fantastic lucid dreamer, to the point he was quite unsettled by it. I was completely jealous and unable to come close to his nocturnal meanderings. It definitely opened my eyes to the possibility of alternative reality as an experience, I can understand why you are so moved by the memory.

No, but in 1994, when I was camping at Chaco Cyn in New Mexico by myself with nothing but a huge canopy of stars, that night I saw a falling star and in my dreams the ex Pisces came and told me he loved me (we had only met two months before). And so when he told me in person I said “I know” :) and then told him about my dream.

Alternate realities totally real. “Must read” I think for every human alive is Seth Speaks-Eternal Validty of the Soul.

I want that bed too. But instead of the nest and leafless branches, i want the trees alive and growing into one another to form a canopy. When i finally own a garden i’m going to make a ‘day bed’ similar to that in the garden, with live walls and live greenery overhead, with 3 walls and an open part at the front which looks out onto a view, so’s i can lie outside and read :D

Incredible about having the same dreams/dreaming what your other half dreams when swapping! Will try it out with next boyfriend… !

We recently turned our bed around 90 degrees AND swapped sides of the bed but I haven’t noticed in difference in dreams (partner just agreed no difference). We already wear matching pyjamas (yeah I know – cheesey but cute) and it hasn’t changed his snoring pattern either which would have been a nice bonus :(

I reckon I could get very used to sleeping in that bed though – I love it!

Miss Havisham, my aries mum who is pretty much skeptical about a whole slew of things, is currently telling anyone that will listen that these rings that you can buy from the chemist that work on acupuncture points are the best thing eva…

Dad finally after 5 years cracked and told her she’s been snoring…and a friend suggested this type of ring that you wear on your little finger and it apparently puts pressure on a meridian line…anyway it’s been working for them both… you put it on about 20 minutes before you want to sleep and boom quiet time.

Apparently the first night she had it on Dad couldn’t sleep because she was so quiet he kept checking her to see she was alive…Dad being a Virgo…

This is more appealing to summon nature than the hanging ball tree houses in Canada
    you discovered.
Saw a programm last year SBS on the ability of rats to dream, yeah, they were running around
with metal helmets & long wires attached to a reading machine for the brain.
It was freaky, which is why i spoil mine to bits with the very best lifestyle
i can give, no expense spared.
Anyways, she, Minks, would love this bed. Ever since i have had her (she slips into my bed
during the night for tummy rubs, massage & stroking) every night i dream of animals.
I wonder what her dreams are. Apparently they dream of what they have discovered during the day.

The days at beach were rejuvenating, natures spa. Fish were caught & much champagne drunk, sunsets over the ocean…SUN! Walks with dogs on sand. Palm trees were planted & art materials left there for when i resume brush work. Am bonkers with joy.
Work is resuming as the sun hits the pineal gland after 30 grey days, my peeps are returning
    for follow up.

The bed side switching would worry me – what if he liked my side better & insisted on sleeping there all the time? (Possessive much?)

Love the bed, though – nearest thing to sleeping in a tree (w/o the bugs). The nest worries me, hovering there. What if it falls?
(I’m just all full of worries tonight, aren’t I?)

Strange you should mention the swapping sides. Kataka and I were talking about it the other day. Over the years we have swapped a couple of times and it is quite different in many ways.
In tantric practice the wife lies to the right of the male while your ‘other’ partners should always lie to the left. At the mo wifey is on my left and we both felt the need to change recently. The energies are def different on different sides and love making is also altered, not sure why ?

I used to share dreams with an ex – kind of like we were projecting ourselves into each others’ subconscious. Freakily it started to happen again last week. And he texted me on Friday asking if I had been invading his subconscious recently!! I’d quite like to shut this ability down actually – it was a fairly tortured relationship and I’d really really really like to move on from it.

I LOVE THAT BED. Would never have cream coloured sheets on it, but the rest will do. I WANT ONE!
Actually rented a place once with a mezzanine bedroom that was made like a nest, interwoven branches and all, rather cool in its own way, but this is so more practical, and doesn’t come with a 10 foot drop next to you while sleeping…

    The bed is glorious.
The concept of swapping sides – or being in an entirely different bed – certainly explains the WEIRD and inexplicable dreams I have whenever I travel, and hence must sleep in the beds where others have already left their impressions.
