Nut, Ancient Egyptian Goddess Of The Night…

“The modern English words “night”, “nocturnal”, and “equinox” (as well as the French “la nuit”, meaning night) are all derived from Nut’s name. Nut’s symbols are the stars, the night sky, and cows. Lapis Lazuli is also sacred to Her. Nuit is associated with Thursday and also with March. “

I love that according to the Egyptians, during the day, the heavenly bodies—such as the sun and moon—would make their way across her body. Then, at dusk, they would be swallowed, pass through her digestive system during the night, and be reborn out of her uterus at dawn.
The red streaks in the sky symbolizing the blood and fluid passed at birth. Wow!

Yeah, I’m one of those Egyptian fan boys whose really anal about authenticity.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice picture but yeah not very Egyptian, considering it’s supposed to depict and Egyptian deity.
