CBA, so funny that you mention Saturn as pushing us out of the nest. I was thinking just the same thing this morning! I was watching a baby willly wagtail (who has been out of the nest for nearly 2 weeks now) asking one of its parents for food. As you probably know, willy wagtails are the most zealous protectors & tireless collectors of food while the chicks are in the nest and for a while once they leave. Then its like one day they just say "Nup, you are on your own. Feed yourself, I've got to get on & do other things now." There is no emotion involved - no tantrums from the baby, he just gets on and starts catching things for himself... or he goes hungry.

I thought to myself why to humans always turn everything into an overblown bloody drama! In its pragmatism Nature is so poignant and beautiful. I also thought about how Saturn IS about growing up and taking responsibility, so why do adults try to buck it or avoid it by behaving like spoilt brats or surly teenagers? Saturn is saying just get on and do what you've go to do.

Not sure what bird I would link with Saturn. They are mostly all good builders & tireless workers. Maybe a bird with serious authority and connected with mountains like some eagles? Or perhaps something patient and slow like a heron? The Pale-faced heron is in my top 5 favourite birds.

Thank you my lovlies! Time to find something more authentic to spend my
9+ hours a day focused on.

I like to think of Saturn as the mama bird pushing her babies out of the nest when they are ready to fly - whether they know it or not (I think this metaphor holds up pretty well, when you consider that mama birds also feed their young chewed-up worms :) )

A quick bit of googling suggests Saturn is linked to the crow (which I would have thought was more Plutonian) and the wren, which was hunted when the wheel of the year turned a full circuit. I would have perhaps thought of an owl, but that's just me.
