October 17 was the birthday of Elinor Glyn, sensational writer of clit lit in the early 20th century…She coined the term “it girl” and pioneered bonkbuster fiction…Had seriously scandalous & interesting personal life AND did bloody well for herself…Her Mercury (always the first thing to look at with such successful writers and cultural stirrers) was opposite Neptune…She had a fantastic Grand Air Trine involving: Midheaven in Aquarius trine Sun-Saturn in Libra and Uranus in Gemini…Total sense for someone so unconventional and yet break-thru.
Venus was conjunct Jupiter and the North Node in Scorpio/the 6th house – really apt for a woman who made her fortune by working hard her whole life long about sex & love + expanding the societal possibilities.

mystic – is her Artemis-honouring “forehead jewellery” significant, or just the fashion of the time? although I am getting the picture that she was a few steps ahead of her time…

I MUST get some of this women’s work!

omgz, Mystic, you don’t realize how HAPPY you’ve made me writing a blog on Elinor Glyn!!!!!!! =D Have you ever seen the film “It?” (The one she created) It’s pretty fun if you like your silent movies.
And, having done some astro research on Clara Bow, the “It Girl” she is a fascinating character. It’d be awesome if you did a blog on her!

can someone *please* make a movie of “the damsel and the sage”?? it would sit somewhere between jim henson’s series “the story teller” (i think it was called that) and the lemony snicket movie. just gorgeous! mystic i’m not quite sure what about the ending you thought so hilarious (but i did dig the humour she weaved throughout), and i was fighting back a few tears reading the tale of the fish.

I really LOVE your women through history posts, Mystic.
