Tip one: Find your story
To alter your thoughts about love (i.e. improve your love life) you have to know what they are in the first place. The quickest way to find out is to ask. ‘What’s my story?’ (In six words or less please. Any longer and it’s the gremlins talking.) If you think it’s too hard to say it in so few worlds, relax. Your unconscious took care of it for you long ago. (Handy if the words are I have a wonderful love life. Or, Love is bliss. Or, I’m so darn lucky in love. Not such a bonus if it out to be, Men suck.
No matter what you might be doing to shift your love vibe around, things aren’t going to budge while your story remains unconscious. When unknown, the story is fate—it creates your ‘relationship reality’. If I say, ‘all the good ones are taken,’ sure enough when I look for them, their taken! (This is something I used to say a lot and demon’s fire if it wasn’t true . . . until I changed my tune!)…”

My mentor in undergrad was a folklorist, and through academia he taught me how central narrative is to all knowleddge and meaning. Just in the last six months the story is coming through to me from more mystical sources, which also include ways to CHANGE your narrative if you are unhappy with it. For me these ideas are the most powerful I have ever come across. Thanks for this post MM.

Right so I did my new moon ritual thingy which involved going through my “help me god I’m screwed” box of little notes and found most of the ishoos had been addressed so I got to start a little bonfire. Yay. And then write a whole bunch of new ones. Double yay. Incense was involved. Oh and yellow notepaper. I don’t do fancy.

RE: the link to our birthdates reflecting ourselves and not the other way round.
What are the thoughts on babies who have their birth dates brought on by medical interference?
I have a special needs child and she arrived when she wanted – early.
My other younger two were brought on to ensure there would be no further complications and that relevant medicos would be available should there be any problems.
My younger daughter came out as mad as hell but she has settled down quite a lot since she turned seven.
My son seems to have it in for the world at large and I’m really not sure where he will end up what with the shenanigans he gets up at at six and seven years of age!
Does the soul get pissed off for having to endure a path they didn’t really choose?

six words of relationship wisdom learned and absorbed?
My faults are someone else’s perfect.
I learned that from a very passionate affair with a married man in 2005/2006. What I found almost vile about myself was my fiery ways and inability to conform, which left (and still leaves) me on the outer in this particularly conservative town of beige people. I used to wish I could be a bit more like others because they seemed fairly contented with their life. I’m always on some path of trying something new – which completely confounds most people in this town.
It was those particular qualities that drew him to me. He put a mirror up to me and made me see they weren’t faults at all. They were simply me and he loved me for it.
That man completely changed my life and my perception of me. He actually didn’t even try and chase me last time he was in town and it was a relief, but I would do it all again if I had a chance of changing my past.
I don’t think I would be married to the wonderful man that I now have as my husband if I didn’t experience that journey of 2005/2006.

Pisces in QC – your story’s most relevant to me. if twasnt for Le Turd (AKA Aries ex) I wouldnt be who I am today. so many aspects of me bloomed, and many others required confronting & ovecoming. now it’s like ‘who?’!!

Thank you for this Mystic. Tell your story in 6 words… GREAT concept. I’ll be giving that a run this week – on love & other topics. Those inner dialogues are so powerful. Noticing & seeing/hearing them clearly is the hard bit. Changing them is easy, thank goodness!
