Astro-Beauty: Gold Fiction – Would Only A Leo Wear This Nail Varnish?
Apparently, Chanel’s Gold Fiction is loaded with genuine pigment & real gold etc. So it’s truly metallic and thus maybe good Feng Shui for the fingernails…I don’t know but given the not-so-secret Leo penchant for gold lame (repressed in the Leos who are not currently starring in musicals, drag queens or underwear supermods) i’m thinking they’d go mad for this & maybe be the only one…
The Chanel site also has a new range called the Constellations “based on Mademoiselle Chanel’s fascination for the constellations” – eight lip glosses with names such as Silex, Nebula, Jupiter, Venus and Mirage….
I reckon they could have gone mega more cosmic than that with the names. Chanel apparently had her apartment full of wheat sheaves which she believed symbolised prosperity (i can’t find an old post I did on this!) and the number Five (she loved 5 as Leo is the 5th sign and she identified strongly with her Sun Sign- she even had her tombstone carved with lions heads) & I’d imagine her to be totally interested in the occult & astrology…Does anyone know?
I am currently obsessed with “Mad Men”. Viewing an ep this evening on DVD, there was a female character who had to be a Leo. Tall, pale skin, fiery red head (no, not Joan of the voluptuous boobs and derriere) with GOLD PAINTED FINGERNAILS! Yes, she was the whole package of glittering gold. Even most of her costumes were tinged with the royal hue.
Definitely one for the Lion hearts! Such a fab show.
Agreed – I’m so addicted to madmen. 50′s style glamour and the disparities between the sexes (men are men and women are women) is such an intoxicating mix.
I was digging through my cousin’s nail polish drawer and I saw an absolutely shocking gold color. I thought, “wow, I have never seen one quite this GOLD before.” I never thought about it till I read this post….but she’s a Leo!
However another Leo I know only prefers traditional nail polish colors like red (her “crazy” color is black). But she has a Capricorn moon and Scorpio ascendant so maybe those explain that!

I’d go the gold on a good day and I have not a thing in Leo. By a good day, I mean full Aqua zaniness ensemble, without giving a hoot about others’ perceptions / projections.
The only Leo I know bites her nails and hasn’t gone nail polish in years.

I’m a Libra, Mars in Leo, Moon in Aries, & I’d happily buy that nail polish (but if I wore it, it would be in an off-hand-artsy-thrift-store kind of way because I bite my nails & they’re quite short.)
I can see that Leos have a gold fetish but I too dig gold coloured fingernail polish as long as it’s water based kind that peels off now that I’ve made the switch.
A beauty product with GOLD in it? Come on, Taurus Sun is all over that!

Love it, have been unable to escape from my penchant for gold nail polish, gloss, gold lurex threaded fabric, gold textas & paint ever since I was a little Leo kid. It started with asking my kindy teacher to help me make gold & silver paint (out of that horrid budget school poster paint) & she couldn’t…I’ve been onto it eve since! lol

I would wear this polish and I have very little Leo (just uranus in leo, first/second house). A few years ago I went to New York and bought LIQUID GOLD EYELINER which I have never worn but it makes me happy just knowing it’s there

In my Beauty Clinic I do a lot of nails and the clients with a penchant for gold polish are Aquarians, but I have to admit they all look like they have suspisciously “leo hair” to me….

She used the motifs she found throughout her lifetime in her work – The wheat husk is a symbol of french agrarian culture amongst other things as you mentioned. she also used poppies, and arabesque influences in the design of embroideries as well as the pattern from her chinese coromandel screen to cover dresses.
Having been obsessed with her from studying fashion at uni, i know that she was probably more obsessed with mysticism from these ancient cultures – in the spring of her career she used the lion head motif for her costume jewelry. The number 5 was chosen for her perfume because she believed it was a magic number and in a way represented the infinite.
she was one hard nut, and totally at odds with the time she was living in. she also aged really well.

to wear massed with a black & white suit. Tres chic.
My mother bought a Papillon b/w dog & called it Coco Chanel (in the 90′s), then purchased the matching parfum!
If you can be bothered to re-thread the pearls onto peice of raw black silk – large knot in between each pearl – looks ab fab. the silk kind of shreds up a bit and looks great. mimco do something sim called ‘tuxedo pearls’ leather looks good too (big in uk when i was there called a ‘pearl lassoo’ (have i spelt that right) black chiffon ribbon looks ok but is kind of neat & tidy moreso. as long as u like lengthwise as long as they can go around 3 times or 5. even number of pearl strands is unlucky apparently – check princess grace & jacqui o pics to confirm. i lurve pearls – they remind me of the moon. altho apparently in mythology they are unlucky because they represent tears & in mythology like attracts like. anyway, whatever i still love them, tears or not, & i have millions of them (well maybe not millions but a lot).
