You are such an inspiration to me. And you do deserve to put yourself first. But you are so in the thick of it now with everything - can you take some time out to make your decision so have time to take many deep breaths in and out without getting a little voice asking for something or needing your attention. I totally respect only you can know what is best for you and your family - but can you avoid make any binding or legal agreements now until you can get some headspace. Can you put some arrangements in place to get more of the support/time you need? My great aunt bought up 5 boys by herself in the 1940s/50s after her husband died soon after the birth of no 5. And she has outlived all the others of her generation and done the most amazing things (and all her sons did too when they grew up) - she is such an incredible strong positive woman. The kids used to go to her sister's family every school holidays so she could have a break. If you had more regular breaks maybe it would get easier?? And yes you might have less money than those guys but I am pretty sure your kids wouldn't trade what you can give them for all the money in the world. And I loved your paintings are they still online somewhere? The book site?
