Eclipse + Mercury + Mars = Insomnia

insomnioInsomnia – Remedios Varo

A degree of insomnia is always present with Full Moons. This one is in the hi-vibe, sometimes nervy & prone to short-circuit sign of Aquarius + it’s an Eclipse, of course. Add to that the hi-alert Mercury in Virgo – with a penchant for running through every detail in triplicate, doing analysis on every potential prob in the vicinity and straining to hear/analyze every sound in the environment – and you have some Insomnia. Plus, though Mercury in Virgo is nowhere near close enough to square Mars in Gemini yet, Virgo and Gemini are both Mercury-ruled so Mercury is triggering the kinetic Mars in Gemini via some sort of sympathetic magic, adding some physical restlessness to the equation. So, who’s sleeping & who’s not???

I didn’t sleep well last night – sooo annoyed! I was exhausted, so I went to bed at 9pm, but I slept horribly and of course woke up really tired today. Ugh!!! I have a sh*tload of stuff to do at work too, so need to be ‘on it’. Oh well, this too shall pass, lol.

The eclipse is exactly conjunct my Midheaven, I am wondering what will come up for me…

Came home yesterday, ate snack, watched Top Gear and then fell asleep about 8 – woke up at 3, turned everything off and thought well that will be enough sleep I’ll get up early tomorrow and didn’t wake up until 7.

Haven’t had that much sleep before unless I was sick.

Actually had a full nights sleep for a change.

The it happens so much it’s almost a regular routine is to wake at 3am as though it’s 6am. Read for an hour. Turn off light. Toss turn, toss some more, get up and get drink etc. Come read mystic in the middle of this. Go back to bed, toss turn and sleep some time around 5.30am.

Last night I went to bed a bit after 11am. Slept through alarm at 7.30am. Fullest nights sleep in ages.

No proper sleeping going on here … can only manage power naps at the weirdest hours, like in the middle of the day, or from 6pm to 11pm. Doesn’t bother me so much as I work from home and I like working late at night/early morning. No noise. Better qi. It’s the witching hour for creatives.

I LOVE working from home… it’s true, you get to work with your own cycles vs some drone standing behind you going, hmm what do you think? The avocado green or the spruce???

Up late being a busy bee with house stuff – mowed through a heap of jobs/paperwork and still wide awake at midnight. Read for an hour and drifted off. Mega dreaming last night – made heaps of sense. Up at 6 am feeling energised. Kids off by 8am. Hour and half in the garden then went to mow lawn and bugger the lawnmower won’t start. Will have to sort that out this arvo. Appts and running around now until school pickup. Loving this eclipse/mercury/mars energy. I usually need at least 7 hrs, preferably 8 to feel normal.

Was just saying to co worker that I had my second night of only 4 hours sleep. The past few weeks I’ve been exhausted (obvs a few emotional issues) to the point of not being able to get out of bed in the morning, and not just out of laziness. Or falling back asleep mid morning. Was chatting to Cappy Mum at 1am this morning and she was wide awake and looking for a midnight snack. We’re both night owls, but usually of the sleep-in-late to compensate variety. Not this week!

But the dream…the tide had gone out so far, I was wandering around the former ocean floor looking for money that ppl might have dropped. (Hey, I’m a Cap!) Instead, I found a leopard and carried it ashore and proceeded to carry it for the rest of the dream on my right shoulder, looking for some water for it and a leash. It was very calm and pretty. I must have been sleeping badly because my shoulder was killing me when I woke up. Plus there was all sorts of “the FBI is after me” type paranoia going on so I had disguised my face with insane prosthetics. Weeeeiiird dreaming.

Dreams anyone? On Sunday morning (Monday in Oz), I had two intense dreams..one was that all I had left of Le Scorp were these three CD’s but they were literally parts of him, I was in Chicago standing inside his flat which had been completely emptied of contents, and him nowhere to be found. He had upped and left, presumably to be with someone else..but nearby though.

So THAT woke me a start.

Then I dreamt I was living in this hidden golden room, had long long hair and was essentially dressed in a sheet – er, I guess like my gravatar now that I think of it. My Dad and brother had kept me there by disguising the room outside with mirrors. Somehow I escaped and ran out into the street clad in that sheet. Then looming over the hill was this character called Dr. Manhattan from the Watchmen, he looks like this:

    http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2009/03/behold_doctor_manhattans_wang.html

And he’s a creature who does not perceive time in linear measurements. So he looms, takes me away and we go back to the marble building I came from, zip up to the tower where we get something to eat. The dude is glowing…but we decide to play some kind of sport. His is tossing soft oranges back and forth with some other guy, and he stops to graze my hand and smile at me… it made me feel really peaceful.

And yet disturbed at the same time, considering my dream man is a comic book hero who walks around with his genitalia exposed and glows in the dark. He’s supposed to be super smart though..and check out the abs…haha

Last night(birthday eve drinks) I ended up with a very small gathering of friends,as sick kids and soccer depleted numbers…but while I was having a wine later…near choked laughing when opened that link.

As a total aside I did up some new organic potatoes from Virgo Dad’s garden, with some chunky sweet potatoes, and a bit of red onion…and aioli. The new potatoes were insanely good. Crispy on the outside and actually fluffy on the inside. Must rave appropriately to Dad today.

And darlings, WHO can resist a glowing blue Wang? And as my Aunts would say, He a Doctor i.e. Dr. Manhattan, no? I did wake up stunned that he is the one superhero figure who left his wife for his lover. What with the whole life giving/destroyer/creator bit he is well… Scorpionic, sigh.

I have been an insomniac for a couple of days now and it’s extremely unlike me. I go to bed, sleep for a couple of hours if I’m lucky and then get up and do the midnight to morning run. It is driving husband crazy. I don’t even remember the last time I couldn’t sleep. Maybe there wasn’t a last time. I’m definitely feeling this. Strangely enough, it’s not really affecting my functioning ability. Usually if I deliberately stay up, I’m stuffed and dysfunctional. But I’m finding it even easier to tune into my studies and make remarkable progress, keeping many aspects of anything I’m learning about in my head and make lots of connections and critical thinking.
