Whitney Houston, one of the best-selling artistes of all time, has clearly had probs in the last six years or so. Since, actually, Pluto hit her Midheaven. Not that that transit ought usually to result in a cavalcade of domestic abuse & drug allegations, an especially troubled divorce, litigation with step-parents, more apparent hard drug use and some shocking photos published as proof of the latter.
Now she is set to produce a comeback album – Undefeated – in Sept with one of the songs being I Didn’t Know My Own Strength. “I didn’t know my own strength/ And I crashed down and I tumbled/ But I did not crumble/ I got through all the pain/ I didn’t know my own strength/ Survived my darkest hour/ My faith kept me alive/ I picked myself back up/ Hold my head up high/ I was not built to break/ I didn’t know my own strength.”
I’m thinking this could be a major moment for Ms Houston as she steps forward into mid-40s divahood, triumphant and - yes – having overcome her battles to become a beacon for people of all ilks. Even if you don’t like her music, DO admit the lady has a voice. Listening to the stuff on her site, i realised just how much her songs formed a kind of backing soundtrack for my late 80s & 90s. Does her chart sustain a comeback triumph?
Okay, she has some AWESOMELY benevolent & super-powered astro-assets.
She’s a Leo with her Leo Sun conjunct Venus (hotness, beauty, art, talent) and she’s got her Aries Moon conjunct Jupiter. That is like a plucky survivor signifier. Random prediction: will she come out when Uranus crosses Moon-Jupiter in 2014? It would be a fantastic Oprah moment.
Chiron Rising in Pisces; maverick with a message, wounded healer et al. Mercury-Uranus-Pluto in the 6th house (she can work & feels a keen sense of mission to society) & oddly enough, the very same Lilith-Neptune in Scorpio conjunction as George Sand.
As I said, she’s had shite going on in since Pluto hit on her Midheaven back in 2002 but now Pluto is set to trine her Mercury-Pluto-Uranus conjunction in the 6th AND Jupiter is on her Pisces Asc from next Feb. I’m tipping YES, that she can do it & she’ll be an unreal figure of inspiration to people battling their own domestic abuse/drug style issues.
The post-Pluto transit return from hell makeover moment of glory can be awesome. It would be poignant in the wake of Michael Jackson too, non? I want to see her in full Leoness. I like how her comeback kicks off as Pluto goes Direct.

I think she could do a massive comeback – lots of boppy old hits for the late- 80s nostalgia, then act 2 is all heart-wrenching drugs-and-domestic-violence diva stylings. I see Oprah in her future
-
She was on Oprah years ago and she was quite over the top in a demanding “tell me I’m awesome” kind of way. She said something about telling her children: “Remember, your mother’s WHITNEY HUSTON!” and expected Oprah to go “Yeah!” but instead she just went kinda “Um, okay…”
I just thought – cripes! Imagine having her for a mum.
-
“Tell me I’m awesome”? – bet you ten bucks that interview was in her coked up days.
-
surely she’d be a great mum – she believes the children are the future, I’m sure she’d been treating them well and letting them lead the way, showing them all the beauty they possess inside – giving them a sense of pride, and so on and so forth…
-
I think the reason she might be getting her act together is because she lets the children’s laughter remind her how she used to be.
-
she realised she’d been searching for a hero, someone to look up to, but was never going to find someone to fulfill her needs. I guess it was a lonely place for her to be – so she’s learned to depend on me (well her).
-
Ha! You’re both just excellent!

did she leave????
-
my feeling are that she made so much money when she was riding high that she can do as she chooses. Her royalies would keep her cashed up.
-
oops royalties
-
I hope she comes back. The world needs more inspirational, transformational Leo divas. Bring em on.
-
She has an amazing voice. I hope that she’s got some good song writing happening to really make her comeback all the more enjoyable.
Sometimes her song “Saving All My Love For You” gets stuck on replay – I’m not ashamed to say

years ago my gfrnd the movie mogul would make us go to any openings she knew’d flop. I mean REALLY made us go. Anyways that’s how Surfing-Barristar-Gem-Ex & I got to see the unwatchable ‘The BodyGuard’. Can’t recall whether the absent plot or Kevin Costner’s presense ultimately bought us down – on-screen they’re downing hi-balls of Harvey Wall bangers rambling irrelevent shit to make up time until Witt’s next tune & we upped, out to the pub across the road. tried to recreate the cocktails & kill time until our friends emerged. worst film ever? up there with that one DavidL also saw starring Daryl Hannah?

A lot of people are going to be mean about Whitney but i will be in awe if she can claw her way back. And lots of movies with good people in them flop all the time. people don’t get together and decide to make a crap movie that will flop. sometimes things just don’t work out the way you plan. I wish her ALL good things. Kevin Costner, on the other hand, is hideous.

Aw, Whitney. It’s all been quite sad. She’s attempted a couple of comebacks, but as with Britney, it was all false painted smiles on a still-fucked-up drug user. Hmm. For me, ‘I Will Always Love You’ has the kind of cheesy meaning only songs one knows from a very young age can.
I have aries moon conjunct my Jupiter too! Clearly Whit & I are made of strong stuff
I think the survivor thing is quite true actually…-
I have an Aries moon conjunct my Jupiter too (but Jupiter is retrograde)!
“Plucky survivor signifier” eh?
So far so good.
