Mercury Out Of Shadowzone!
Yo! Mercury Retrograde Purist Peeps! Mercury is now out of shadowzone.
For those who do not know; Mercury went Retro at 1 degree Gemini on May 7 and then it went Direct on May 31st at the degree of 22 Taurus.
When it gets BACK to one degree of Gemini – ie; today – it is considered out of shadow. And you can consider it entering the shadow when it gets to the point it will later retrograde back to. I would only ever worry about this if i had to sign a MAJOR deal or launch a space shuttle or something. But it’s fun to watch if you’ve got a particular dialogue going on – see how many things in the next few days are TOTALLY back, revised for sure or just grok the evocative Eureka Moments.
Remember that for most of the time, there is always SOMETHING Retrograde – retro planets are just part of the usual cosmic rhythm but if you keep a journal of such things, note the date Mercury goes into the ‘shadow’, the actual retrograde date, direct date and out of shadow. See what you see!

Mercury gets to 21 Virgo on August 18
Mercury Retrograde – Sept 7 at 6 degrees Libra
Mercury Direct – Sept 29 at 21 Virgo
Mercury back to 6 Libra again on October 14.
But this is just F.Y.I. If you go mental over Mercurial Bats shadowzones, you will write off half the year. BUT if Mercury goes Retro at a significant point for you, watch these times. They are also useful if you’re timing/clocking a weird relationship.
Aye, guilty of Mercury shadowzone purism. What else could you expect from a Virgo, but it HAS paid off. I held off from buying a new lap top, even though this one has gone all tricky and dicky, until the zone had passed, and ordered the shiny new macbook this morning. Lucky I did (Jupiter retro thank you too) as the price dropped $400 since last week. New models coming in soon, but old at cheaper price good enough for me. Yay!

Oh and the Merc Retro thing WORKS! The one time i went against it to buy a computer was insane. The computer had a variety of probs with it that varied from the MS Word being corrupt so that you would be typing and the page would just disappear. And there were hardware issues as well. The shop refused to admit any of this and finally sent a person around to fix it who spent the DAY here taking it apart & flipping out.
It finally wound up with a booking made for the fair claims court and at that point, i got my money back. The day Mercury got out of shadow. And that very day the computer i’d wanted in the first place but could not afford, turned up $700 cheaper for some reason…
Thank god for that – or any explanation for batso stuff lately.
Mystic are you are Virgo, or is that rude to ask?
I am Virgo sun and lots of fire in other spots, which I find weird. Am such a super-virgo I sound like primlipped pyscho bitch when I post online. It’s always very embarrassing. Can just hold self back from correcting spelling etc but mentally repunctuate as I go… Otherwise I think Virgo a very fine sign to be, but am miffed at all the analness attributed to us.
Was this a very difficult retro merc or am I just having the 60,000,000th nervous breakdown I wonder.

i’ve got a virgo moon and i value it, LOL! very useful, makes me quite efficient, IMHO!
but today, i found myself virgo-ing out a bit, only dawned on me late arvo, i went to get coffee in the foyer and tidied up all the chair which were all over the place and straightened the newspapers so they were the same on all the tables, then later picked up rubbish, picked holes in an agenda and picked big holes in a published policy which made my employer look really stupid, and did all this with great glee and satisfaction.
any explanations for this rush of virgo blood to the head??

Sixty million nervous breakdowns? A modest figure for a Virgo really. Best to embrace all that perfectionism and use it for good instead of evil I find as Taurean with the HMBOTS has also by the looks. (Looked at today’s placements on astro.com. Only Saturn is in Virgo. Moon is in Pisces, so could be opposing your moon, T with the H. I guess you could look at your daily scope there for other aspects)
Merc retro is loopier for Virgos and Gems than other signs, because Merc is our ruler.

It’s funny that atypical virgo thing. The most typical virgo I ever met in terms of anal housekeeping and actual freakouts if ash went into ashtray or ashtray moved out of alignment a fraction, was a guy working as gay male prostitute who fell in love with me when I was young. But that’s not typical either I suppose…
virgo nightfairy, i agree with you – the last retro merc was a bit rough. I couldn’t think straight and found it hard to make even simple decisions. Perhaps merc was making a tough angle to my mars in Virgo… who knows… so many variables but glad it’s over anyway!
