The Moon Means One Thing:

david-austin-rose

The Moon means One thing…at least this Moon does – it is in Libra, waxing to be Full (an Eclipse on july 7) and making a mysterious aspect to Venus – the Love Goddess – in Taurus, the sign she rules along with Libra…Flowers for you, flowers for your loved one, flowers for a friend rewarded and random flowers to another who would least expect them bring manifest Venusian Blessings…Venusian type peeps are also SUPER scent-aware at the moment – heaven for flowers, perfume and essential oils..being sensual, whatevs – vile for if you have to inhale noxious toxic air ‘freshener’ shit. One more thing that’s awesome with this Moon-Venusian synergy: Psychic hits via smell. Try it & see. SMELL & see. Pheromones signal the brain’s intention, don’t they?

I am getting over the flu so can’t smell much but as of yesterday started using essential oils, not something i have done for a while. Only using lavendar and eucalyptus but am finding them very beneficial to my well being.

This is probably something different with the timing but about three weeks ago i became obsessed with finding a nice rose perfume. I haven’t worn perfume for a few years but am finding that I want to do it again. I also got a sample of chanel no. 5 which i used to wear and I’m getting into that again too.

If you can find it, ‘Rosa’ by Santa Maria Novella is a very clear pure fresh rose scent, & I’m pretty sure they use natural plant essences not weird chemical substitutes … Kuumba Made’s Arabian Rose essential oil is an amazing one, and not expensive — Whole Foods in the US sells it but I’m not sure where else you can get it.

I craved to smell something that vibed like the hottest magenta/pink when I was first pregnant…essential oil of rose-geranium was the flowery answer. Anything vaguely chemical…eew. And to think I used to adore Diorissimo in a previous life…

in the 70’s the first girl I fell for wore diorissimo, it drove me crazy, don’t tell me they’ve changed it, fools, it was magic that stuff. I actually think that it was the smell I fell in love with ?

Same! But Dior – like most of the big companies – let the accountants tweak the formulas in the 90s. So no more real flowers. Or something like that. I was smelling a few scents the other day and they all smelt horribly chemical, and these were GOOD ones. Maybe essential oils do something to your olofactory nerve?

The qi explanation would be that a synthetic scent could never reproduce the quality of qi within a flower that has grown up through the whole process of seed, soil, rainfall, breeze & sunlight. Animists would call it the spirit of the flower. And then there’s flower essences…

We need the luxe connoisseuse, Leonine Librarian to give us the heads up on which fragrances are made from actual flowers. What about Jo Malone?

I think you’ll find they went to ‘nature identical’ synthetics. Which meant the main chemical is often still from nature but from different sources…distilled and purified. So….you get real bitter almond oil from almonds. Which makes it EXPENSIVE. But you can also a natural oil that is 99% similar to it it from any stone fruit, cherries, apricots, peaches – and of course the bigger fruit with other purposes are cheaper to harvest. So they buy the cheaper still natural but from different source oil to save costs. And it’s 99% the same. But it’s that 1% of difference, of it being impure, unique, botanic and real, that you detect is missing.

the reason perfume companies had to switch to synthetics was the the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 prevented them from using ambergris as a base fixative in their perfumes. I guess we can’t have it both ways.

Yes, the parfum companies went over to the dark side (and chemicalised everything) abt 20yrs ago. I met a woman in Paris who made those cute little trial sachets (in her factory over the Gare du Nord ) for all the big French names in perfumes and moisturisers. It was certainly an eyeopener for me to see where such luxury was produced.

The original country town in Provence whence authentic perfume: Grasse.

What bliss in such uncertain and shifting times like the Eclipse season to be able to revel in the luxurious magic of scent and flowers. When thinking about Truth becomes slippery or hard to accept, it’s nice to remember that Truth in Beauty / Beauty, Truth.

Well, I’m totally watching out for the psychic hits via smell… I so get that. Not to be a brat but I was unable to ship Carnal Flower to the Divine M and ended up using it, LOVE it. There’s something about rose that is so quintessentially about love.

I love jasmine too but it always makes me think of being sly…like the way a belly dancer shoots you a sideways glance.

That is so gorgeous Fallen Angel. As a Libran’s Libra scent is very important to me. It must be completely absence of harsh chemicals otherwise I become almost instantly fractious and irritated. As a result only essential oils work for me – from the invigoratingly astringent Eucalyptus (Lemon scented gum – mmmm), to the softess whisper of Jasmine. But Rose – pure, real, purse-shattering Rose oil is trully divine…..

I worked in the flavour and fragrance industry for a while. And scent is very analagous to music. Pure essential oils are like single instruments – a beautiful fiddle solo here, a bassoon there, a piccolo over there. BUT most people tire of the single notes quickly. Flowery essential oils can all be a bit sweet and trilly and almost sickly on their own. The art of the perfumer is to put together an arrangement that is like the welling sound of a symphony….some woody undertones here, the barest hint of musk or something sexy and carnal there….and layers of different flowers that add up to something that thrills you.

Asia to me is Sandalwood & Jasmine.
Perfumer’s Workshop make a Tea Rose that is a lush room spray

Tahiti is Gardenia, Ylang Ylang, Vanilla, Basil & Sandalwood.

Yes, there is a bass note middle note & top note just like in music & once you use
pure essential oil mixes, you instantly pick the chemicals, however pleasant,
in even the best of the French Parfum’s.

Once a year or so, i go into DJ’s for a spray of Patou’s JOY & sample card for pockets

    Bergamot
    Grapefruit
    Palmrosa
    Rosemary
    Patchouli
    Rosewood
    Benzoin.
    2 drops of each undiluted.

One of my favourite scents is simply “Gardenia” by Chanel. Ernest Beaux, Coco’s original “nose” created the scent and it is divine. Absolutely the best single note fragrance imo.

For men, I love to smell Gucci “Envy” on a man at the end of the day. Their business shirt and tie straining to be removed and for me to bury my face in their neck and deeply inhale their scent ….

Oooo…and if you feel like wandering over to the dark side of scent, try watching the movie ‘Perfume’, based on the novel by Patrick Suskind – one of my favouritist movies :)

Grenouille is a gutter boy in France many moons ago, and learns to use his sense of smell in an almost superhuman way which helps when he wants to murder peeps.

He eventually ends up in Grasse and then there is an orgy at the end.

    He he just watch it.

I quite like the 12 oil meditation blend. Can be a bit heavy – but it’s definitely not a single note – it’s complex and reveals different layers at different stages.

Still have a few Jurlique left from 12 years ago & a few Essenza.
Problem is that don’t buy enough for Wholesalers to be interested

Might have to make an interstate trip to find supplier, what a good idea:)

venus makes perfect rose orbit pretty amazing.

just started brand new 8 year cycle in april, She’s on Aries like a cheap
suit too, all about Her and Aries for 19 months, She will take him for all he’s worth no doubt… ( stalking him in a way… it’s cosmic stalking…)
They say if you speak directly into a rose that is a spiritual thing, you will
    be heard…

moon usually seen as mother, but can also be ego….

halfway between moon and chiron is the degree signifying how one
continually “wounds himself into awareness” , interesting…

also this thing about the moon and pluto– moon like a small pluto…
when they conjunct it is like finding your destiny, the moon finds its destiny

(I hate pluto with a passion tho’)

Earth the only planet with a moon directly fitting over sun on an eclipse no other known planet has this feature…

interesting it only happens where there are conscious beings to see it

( is there a therapist in the house?)

could just be a spaceship left over from the great wars…

(nasa pings indicate possibly hollow…) just a theory tho’…

Every Friday at dawn, first hour of that day belongs to venus..

but thru first week of July supposed to go especially,
walk a pentagram formation,, look at Her, draw her glyph, or the crescent… have a nice heart to heart with Her…

(I just want to be loved, is that so wrong?)
