How was your weekend?! Mine was excellent though to back to back socialising did in my Sunday & I totally Zen-Slothed.
In my Sunday evening trackies & with my daughter in the suddenly torrential rain, we schlepped past an impromptu Michael Jackson Tribute Street Party – was gorgeous. About 50 people all dancing to really well-mixed MJ. And they were good dancers. What interested me most is that there were teens through to 60-ish year olds, people who were clearly professional dancers & others who were just picking up on the moves they did at their school formal once upon a time. And the kids krumped.
Uranus is in utter sl0-mo, practically at a standstill, getting set to turn Retro on Weds, just as Venus squares everything in sight. I know I said this last week but – again – it is not a good time to try and control other peeps. Especially Aquarians & Pisceans, also Taurus & Libra…They’re individuating to the max.
It IS a brilliant time to be your own unique yourself, live & let be. Vary your routine. Ditch the obligatory shit – where you can – whilst also honouring the Eclipse-Season Get Real vibe. The Eclipse (15 Capricorn) is in my 12th house so my practical resolution is to meditate properly. But remember that the Uranian vibe adds a zany zing to the atmosphere & that not everyone channels Uranian Qi as well as – say - you or I might.
Don’t bait the crazies. Stay serene & nourish thy nervous system.
My friend Aqua-Girl – who is probably the ultimate Aquarian female in many ways – has announced she is going into “poly-phasic sleep cycling” in the next month. Hence her social availability will be limited and she is totally off coffee and sugar. “A lot of big people do it,” she said breezily. “Richard Branson, Buckminster Fuller…” I can’t remember the other names.
What it is: you sleep for only two hours a day so that you have 22 hours a day of total productivity. How you do it; You train yourself to sleep – zapping straight into REM – for 20 minutes every two hours. She may or may not use her lucid dreaming goggles during this time. Aqua-Girl sends men crazy. I see it all the time. She has waist length blue black hair and has that sort of archetypal delicate Asian lotus flower look.
But she is a multiple conjunct Aquarian and completely bats. She does nude hiking and surfing, djs, goes straight from a ten day Silence Retreat to clubbing, is an excellent mother to her two daughters & is currently dating a much younger nanophysicist whom she made go to relationship counselling two weeks after they met. Just to tweak a few things.
I think i would go ravingly nuts if I tried polyphasis sleep cycling. I did it by default when my children were babies and it did not seem to produce the sharpened mind and sudden ability to become an awesomely productive mogul & guru.

That photo had to be taken in a convenience store in Harajuku, Tokyo. Everyone dresses like that there.
Earth signs need eight hours sleep.
-
Aqua-Girl sounds totally hot!! Like the type of female I could only ever dream to be…way too much earth in my system!
-
I don’t know if this is a Leo thing and how aquarius is our opposite sign but i would kill somebody if made to do polyphasic whats it. I mean isn’t it a method of torture?
I love the idea of being able to do a silence retreat and then a nightclub and looking fabulous & actually, i have an aquarius girlfriend who sort of wafts in saying she has just been to xyz something amazing and it’s always someplace totally cool even though she doesn’t do it to one-up people.
BUT – i know another Leo woman – and she is like me with sleep. We climb into our bed at night, special face creams slathered on & feet/hands done too, have lavender, special relaxing sleep music and a feeling of deep gratitude for the bed., Nine hours sleep is perfect for me. -
This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Kramer tried this sleep cycling thing. He was waking Jerry up in the middle of the night becasue he was bored. Funny, I always thought Kramer was an Aquarian. I hope Aqua-Girl gets maximum benefits from it.

I was forced to live like this when I was nursing late Virgo husband and my doctor wanted to hospitalise me. I’m not dredging up the ‘whys’. Sleep deprivation is a bitch!!
-
Aqua-Batty indeed. I only every go poly-phasic inadvertently i.e. senses too stimulated by ether borne information that my eyes snap open every so often till finally I get so tired I crash.
I read about this a few years ago from this guy:
http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2007/03/polyphasic-sleep-one-year-later/And the one thing I will say from my own experience is that after the initial period of tiredness, I do feel far more productive and sharp. Unfortunately this happens almost concurrently with being convinced I am an alien as almost everyone else in my social sphere will have regular hours.
I think if your social life is important to you, this would not be the way to go…

Don’t Leo love their beds with everything they need or want close to them:)
In the 80’s in Singapore, Lee Kwan Yew was advising 6 hours only sleep a night for extra productivity.
Plus only 2 drinks after work.
Easy to do that there as so much open & going on all hours.
Doing it in slow Adelaide would drive me bonkers.
I am a 9 hours sleeper & can sleep anywhere, anytime, it’s either from meditating or doing ‘airport’.
Insomniac i’m not at all. It is said that it is a good sign of mental health is the ability to sleep & snooze.I a now going by the 3000 day 72.000 hour time frame for myself. I will waste an hour or two myself
but god help anyone else who will waste it for me.
This came about last week when i gave a broke pensioner $50 to assist him to move,
only to see a brand new HD TV set he had just bought in his poverty stricken lounge room!
Walked away & totally spat the dummy on myself & my new age ‘everyone is good’ philosophy.Decided i ain’t moving, Demented Neighbour & Breakins…….phoof! Love my Sacred Space too much.
My wooden floors & 12 foot ceilings that look like wedding cake almond icing.
Each time i went to new place & saw worn grey carpet, blue walls ‘n doors plus yellow kitchen, his, the pensioners toe nail disease, i left feeling nauseated.
A paint job & fake wood floors won’t fix THAT aura! And he had taken every plant moveable out of the beautiful garden.
AND he is GAY, another aging overbearing bossy queen with fake flowers & bad colour schemes.
It’s why i haven’t been here coz been in deep thought about moving.Didn’t listen to my first impression ‘it’s gonna take me 6 months to clear this space’, hence the 3000 day rule now.
Am loving the power of anger & saying NO to crap. Louise Hay has a lot to answer for as in her ‘I’m a YES
person’ affirmation card.
Oh Puleeze my ‘religion’ has indoctrinated me. I’m too polite too nice too giving people pleaser.
My Sagg candour has been supressed by practised diplomacy. Am gonna be a Bitch to be Reckoned
with if my Space is interferred with again.
The human aura is 9 foot high. Moving into 8 foot ceilings would perish me.‘Don’t bait the crazies’. That’s exactly what i have been dealing with…ageing bossy queens & catholics!
Love sleeping, my dreamworld is far more exciting than my wake life & way faster.xzzzzzzzzz.
xx-
Sending you 12 FT ceiling sacred space vibes winged one… so you can stretch and you can fly!

Go pegs! Good on you for holding your ground!

Ms Mystic, so glad you had a fab weekend and that you enjoyed the local culture on display in your ‘burb. Life truly is beautiful in the most unexpected ways. I love it when people band together in an impromptu way to celebrate – even though this celebration of life does have the saddest of origins.
With respect to Aqua-Girl – 10 out of 10 for commitment. I can’t imagine doing the sleep cycle regime – I could sleep anywhere anytime. Bliss!!
-
Aqua Girl sounds incredible. I am deeply amused by the combination of bafflement & admiration with which you write about her. Especially the relationship counselling: awesome.
Polyphasic sleep sounds like hell. No really. I frequently get by on three/four hours sleep though, several nights a week. But when I allow myself to sleep, god, it’s wonderful. Gemini with Leo rising.
-
latest research seems to be saying that sufficient quantity and quality of sleep is as important if not more so for good health as diet and exercise, yada yada.
makes heaps of sense to me, in fact the bleeding bloody obvious!
-
That’s true. They’ve linked insufficient sleep to the development of a range of degenerative diseases including heart disease and diabetes. It’s also a factor in obesity.
-
and the biggy, ageing…the less sleep the more you age, no doubt about it.

Aqua Girl!! MM– this is exactly how I imagine the grown version of my daughter. She has Sun, Venus, Neptune, Mercury, Ceres, AND Uranus in Aqua. Gem Moon. Libra rising, so very charming and polite despite being completely bonkers. I call her the Friendly Anarchist. We never have dull moment around here, believe me.

I have Leo Sun/Cancer Rising/Scorpio Moon/Virgo Stellium, and I generally sleep only three or four hours a night, usually going to sleep around four or five and waking up between seven and eight. If I sleep past eight, I always feel horribly sluggish and behind in the day and think that I’ve overslept terribly. My bed is usually covered with all my books and pillows and journals, with my phone and laptop usually right next to my head when I sleep, and I always have to have sound in the background.
Virgo dad was the same way with background noise while sleeping. Capricorn Sun/Cancer Rising mum is always either sleeping or at work, usually twelve to fourteen hour work days and going to sleep as soon as she comes home. Aqua best friend needs twelve hours of sleep with all her gadgets within an arm’s length and facing the door. Scorpio Sun/Leo Rising/Gemini Moon/Scorpio and Capricorn Stellium bf needs copious amounts of sleep and is very specific about his sleeping conditions (everything has to be exact, or his back and especially his neck and shoulders get extremely painful and he is extremely foggy all day). Capricorn Sun/Sagittarius Rising friend usually gets by fairly easily on five to seven hours a night with classical music playing in the background, although for a few years she went through a stage of only needing as much sleep as I do.
