Aqua 1 & Aqua 2

200534956-001

Lol, this is NOT about my Aquarius men again. No, no, NO. It’s actually about how even though Aquarius is not one of the classical ‘twin’ or ‘dual’ signs, a la Gemini & Pisces or even Sagg (half Wise Centaur-Sage, half back end of Horse), there are two different types of Aquarius. At least, such is the theory.

Before the discovery of Uranus (in 1781 and the thing was originally going to be called Herschel, after the discoverer, a Scorpio) Aquarius was said to be ruled by Saturn. So there was Capricorn ruled by Saturn and then Aquarius also ruled by Saturn only an Air sign.

The idea is that you have your whackjob Uranian kind of Aquarius who will simply not conform to any norm ever invented…just because. He/she is totally into freedom for all creatures & proves it on a daily basis, in one way or another.

And then you have your more austere sort of Saturnine Aquarian, who tends more toward the scientific & intellectual rigours of some lofty calling, rather than every day Uranian rebellion. They’re a bit more controlling and not into emo but often genius-like in some area. Saturnine Aquas keep their distance from me – the last one I met said to me: “Let me get this perfectly straight. You make your living from something that does not exist?”

So, I only know the Uranian ones, when they deign to beam down from where-ever it is Uranians zing off to. Also, I am not sure about this but i have noticed that a lot of Aquarians completely blossom after Saturn Return and in spectacular fashion.  Thoughts?

I have some experience with aquarians. It must be my saturn in the 5th which attracts the saturnine variety. Your description is a bit off Myst. A bit more controlling? I would say suffocatingly so. No into emo? More like scared witless of emo, denying it in themselves, when very apparent to others in their behaviour. I would also add, more stubborn then even a taurus, and that takes some doing. And prone to pomposity. But the saturn return bit and the quote are so true. I can hear one I know saying those very words! The uranian ones I have known do delight in being perversely different, but it did come across as a bit false, for effect.

Don’t get me wrong, I love aquarians, but virtually all of those I have known have lacked self awareness, sometimes to a terrifying degree – MY freedom comes at ANY price.

I really can’t figure out if I’m a Saturnine or a Uranian. I’m definitely not a genius but I’m also pretty sure I’m not a whackjob too. Maybe I’m a Bitsa? Bitsa Saturnine and bitsa Uranian.
I had a shocker of a Saturn Return, very emo. I also have 2 other female Aqua friends the same age as me who both had horrible experiences. 2 years later I think the 3 of us have a really strong sense of wellbeing and bucket loads of confidence that we were lacking before. It’s kind of an empancipation and an extremey liberating feeling.

Ya well, I think I cannot help but be of the Saturnian variety with Saturn at 25 degrees and Sun and Mars at 27. But other factors in my chart turn me Uranian and emo simultaneously.

People assume I’m brain dominated, rather than heart, because I can sometimes make an argument, forcefully put. This is viewed as neither feminine–ipso facto non-emo. But actually I’m the latter, it’s just that I would like my arguments for not-conformity taken seriously and no one in our society, takes any kind of emoting seriously–especially on subjects of conformity from ‘hysterical females’.

What a put down line Mystic. Jeez. What a pig. I hope you gave him withering look, turned on your heel and walked off. I’ll never forget Linda Goodman’s- Aquarius fights best with her hat– she puts it on and leaves. ‘Tis true, the forcefully felt departure is the most plonking statement.

    First thoughts…

Uranian Aquarian – love of freedom, ingenuity – all the awesome Uranian traits (well the ones I love anyway, I have a Mercury/Uranus conjunction :)

Saturnian Aquarian (or maybe more like ‘lower’ Saturnian Aquarian) – eccentricism gone overboard – where one can become a slave to it/be restricted by it – always trying to rebel/be an ‘individual’ for the sake of it/’just because’ that it just becomes sooo predictible and in a way stereotypical/conventional (if this makes sense).

Myself and my 2 Aqua girlfriends are definately of the Uranian stream.
My aqua cousin on the other hand, is a doctor of science and works in a lab, saturnian to the tea – although keep an open mind and non judgemental towards others.

Def blossoming more than ever now, through the SR and am into my early 30s.

Can I please take a little from Column A and a little from Column B?

I definitely relate to the Uranian whackjob but I’m also counting the days till the new financial year to buy myself a spanky new laptop for my new scientific and intellectual project that I just can’t wait to embark on. Don’t we all have a lofty higher calling or is that just Saturn speaking?

Notwithstanding the apparent lack of love for Saturnine Aquas, I’d say I’m definitely of the Saturnine, non-emo, live in my head variety – although perhaps that’s due to having a couple of planets in Cap (and a grand air trine? Or is that just responsible for me being up myself about my intellect?)

That said, I have been accused on a number of occasions of misrepresenting myself initially as being somewhat conservative – I was once told that I’m a closet subversive, and not the type you’d usually find lurking in the corporate world.

I agree with Sweet & Miss Havisham – a little from column a, a little from column b. Sometimes, it’s more fun to have something to rebel against than just be free for the sake of it. Hmm, maybe that is more of a Saturine perspective.

The future Mr Champers and I are both Aquarians have driven eachother totally bonkers recently with our obsession for personal freedom but misguided expectation that the other should be waiting at home on our return. So not going to happen, even with both Taurus rising.

And call me a total wackjob, but I’m actually looking forward to our Saturn return (we almost share a birthday.) I think young Aquas are used to being misunderstood or considered a bit quirky or out there.

This is totally at odds with our own perception of ourselves as perfectly logical and rationale; so we swing between trying to fit in and eccentric behaviour (often of the try-hard variety) and the SR clarifies a sense of self and purpose. Or at least, I hope it does. It can’t be much more trying than the last 2 years, can it?!

My parents and daugther are all Aquarians and it has always confused me no end as none of them (well parents anyway, daughter is a bit young yet to tell) are the hippy wackjobs. They both seem to be more they’re rising sign than anything else but probably more saturnian than uranian.
Mum’s Uranian tendancy probably showed in her parenting of me, no stereo typical pinky pink, she gave me a red trailer for my first christmas, always emphasised that I needed a career myself not to hang off anyone. I know this was in the 60/70’s but in a small country town in a farming community, things move verrrrry slowly.
She gave Dad hell if he fell into the stereotypical roles with me and my brothers.

Mos def – My Dad (supa aqua) is 71 and in his heydays he was a free spirited casanova who took off round the world for 6 weeks and came back 9 years later, w/ 2 kids, a divorce and a fountain of stories. Now, years later with a new marriage, job, & lifestyle (+ 2 new kids – that’s where I come in!), he’s obsessed with technology, science and “the future” in an almost dogmatic way. At his most wonderful he’s a stringent & wordly lecturer/ marathon runner and at worst, controlling, overbearing parent/ husband… def Saturnine turn.
    Love your work.

I’m an Aquarian with equal push/pull of Saturn and Uranus, which makes it difficult some days to do or say anything I mean. My sun is unaspected in 1 degree Aqua and my Merc opposes Pluto in Leo; sometimes I feel very Scorpionic really until I’m around a sun Scorp.
My Saturn in Leo also opposes Merc so I am often on a seesaw about most everything and everyone. Being an astrologer, I feel very Uranian, until I realize I’d like to be famous (very Saturnine) and super rich at it. Also
have lots of the dual signs like Moon Gem, Neptune Libra, Jupiter Sag and most cruelly Venus Pisces.

My darling friend, the Aqua Air Mother is such a high Aqua. I suppose she has a little bit of the high parts of Uranus and Saturn. In the seventies, she did the full braless under the kaftan thing, and played more than a few games of strip poker after getting stuck into the Ben Ean Moselle. Around that time, her hubby nearly died from alcohol related illness and she trained to become a drug and alcohol counsellor while providing a home for some stray friends of her adopted children.

Anyway, she is so open minded, which I imagine is high Uranian? A great grandmother but tons youthful and is the least judgmental person I’ve ever met, and she’s able to provide support (high Saturn?) to desperate people in the most dire circumstances that is both loving and breezily detached.

Has anyone noticed that aquarians also have two different types of looks?

Some look more like pisces, with big puppy dog eyes and heart shaped faces, and others look more like capricorns – everything very even but very fine boned.

Does anyone else sort of try and pick a star sign by looking at them? I have fun doing that. Have no trouble picking pisces, geminis, leos, earth but not real flash at picking which one (cap, taurus or virgo), aries, and scorps. The other signs I really can’t pick a definitive feature that alerts me as soon as I see them
