Okay, so I don’t watch television except in snippets at the gym (they are seriously flogging flesh-coloured full body stocking corsets as fashionable alternative to diet and exercise on morning telly at the moment – the ladies gushing about them deserve Oscars recognition) but have I missed something?
Once again, my in box is featuring nervy requests for reassurance, clarification or – my favourite – “a proper timeline” for the alleged shit-fest of 2012 a la the Mayan Calendar running out. Guys, I said it more thoroughly before so just click back and read please but in essence; no, i don’t think there is anything inherently crappy about 2012, i am sure some Mayan scribe just got fed up with inscribing calendars so far ahead and other calendars (eg; I think, the Hare Krishna one) say we zooming into a Golden Age.
But the 2012 shitfest theory is not one most astrologers take at all seriously, although it’s an undeniable mover of product. Or, if you WANT to believe it, e-mail one of the sites endorsing this theory & get the timeline off them! I don’t believe it & I don’t like the mindset behind it.

exactly Mystic –
why give so much weight to the Mayan calendar?
Consider that for the Mayan, their “world” ended in about 1000; well before Harold took an arrow in the eye.
-
Probably the same folks who freaked about 2000 – will pick anything to get worked up about. In any case, what I’ve read about 2012 indicates, if anything, the beginning of a Golden Age of expanding awareness, etc. Maybe for some this would be the end of the world (their own limited thinking, etc)!.

I think (read somewhere I’m def not an expert) that the whole ‘shitfest’ idea is a misinterpretation of the term ‘the end of time’.
It is not the end of the world, but literally the end of ‘time’ as we know it. A huge shift in the way we perceive time, that is already occurring right now, and will probably continue gradually, with 2012 as the turning point, or threshold year. This connects somehow to quantum physics and the feeling that time is speeding up.
I think it means we will find it much easier to BE in the present moment. And thus experience more peace and joy, without needing to constantly worry about the future or rehash the past. The end of ‘psychological time’ a la Eckhart Tolle.

It’s all really simple:
The Mayan long count calendar completes the current 13th baktun and then ticks over into the 14th baktun (one baktun = approx 394 years) as recorded from the date of creation in Mayan mythology.
Why New Age peeps have highjacked it for their own bizarro agenda is the real mystery.

I recently had a blast from the past contact me to inform me of the end of the world. And yes when we were together back in 2000, he had me stocking up on water/candles etc.
I now pay little attention to such things.
But the thing that DID freak me out was when he mentioned 11.11.
I thought I was having some special communication with my god /angels/ guides. Every time I look at a watch/mobile etc, it would be 11.11.
It was my little secret and I was quite happy with that. But then he informed me this is a phenomenon that is going on – I think he said it was linked to the mayan calendar – I was shocked as I have been experiencing this for years- Im confused- Does anyone else experience this.
I have looked at some web sites on this but they provide very little info. I really like to keep my feet on the ground these days and have not mentioned it to anyone in fear of them thinking I have cattle loose in the top paddock. Is it a simple explanation such as we now are surrounded by digital everything. 30 years ago this would not have been possible ???

The 11.11 phenomenon is really common – you can relax! It has even been discussed on this blog (forget what stream…).
I often see 10.10 and 11.11, and always feel comforted, much the same as when I have deja vu – I’m where I am supposed to be cosmically…
And back onto the doom topic – aren’t we moving into tha age of aquarius? Thats what the previous post mentions… personally I’m looking forward to it all. A new ‘time’ ‘era’ ‘epoch’ – whatever fits. Roll on a new consciousness!

Yes, Aqua Tiger, i have the 11.11 flash frequently.
Someone usually calls me, look at time & it’s 11.11.
It’s supposed to be a message that Higher Beings are around you.
Originally it comes from ‘The Ascentionists’ to remind us of our Light Body.
Thirty years ago we didn’t have this informaton available to usYou are not alone:)
-
no way, as i was reading this it WAS 11.11
-
that’s so funny (and not faked) that i have to down tools and get massive massive coffee. I have been having the 11.11 thing since i was 16 and a little too intersted in the occult

hmm, i woke up at 4.44am this morn and as a result managed to groggily note down bits of a dream i had just had. 4.44am not as sexy as The End Of Time or whatever; P.S a theory i don’t subscribe to as TIME DOESN’T EXIST ANYWAY so take that panic merchants

It cracks me up that the end of one civilisation’s calendar could signify the end of time. How thick are these people?
It’s like saying that when you get to the limit of maps in the Gregory’s street directory you’ll fall off the edge of the world. (Although if you got to Lithgow, you might think you had) Nonetheless, the map isn’t the territory, just as a calendar marks time, but is not time itself.

You’ve got ‘hand’ today Ubee, your lasts two posts (singularity) and here are so spot on x
Future Machine World and End of Times Apocalypse is just not a vision of the future that appeals. I do wonder though why its so pervasive ?
-
maybe cos it’s all we get fed on a regular basis? makes more money for the film companies? keeping people afraid makes them want a leader wno will ‘save’ / ‘protect’ them…….?

Interesting davi and UP that Mystic has put 2 such posts up together – 2 extremes of human insecurity that keep religions in business. The immortality drive and the apocalypse myth/metaphor that some people insist on taking literally.
