Lower Gemini Fashion
This is the problem. Once one writes about (and reads your brilliant comments) on a Lower Gemini character such as Delia Antwerp Aaaars, one is forever finding things she would really like. I saw this pointy-shouldered jacket above and thought YES – but it wasn’t me saying YES with a sharp gasp of recognition, c’est moi etc. It was Delia Antwerp-Aaaars, looking for something super-conceptual and OVERT to wear to her next gallery opening. As this so clearly comes from the same Zeitgeist as the Bauhaus armchair and the Designer Hair Skirt, does it not?
Psychologically, it says STRENGTH, she thinks. As in no patronising hand on one’s shoulder here AT all. Waiters bearing chardonnay would also be able to find one with ease even in a room full of drippy art types wearing louche & unstructured off-message clothing with stupid brooches. This is Delia Antwerp Aaaars thinking, not me. But she would set it off with something SO ironic and of-the-moment, just to show that she also quirky. My question is this: What is the art gallery opening for, about & featuring?

I think her legs are shapely too but there toward the top at the crotch, pelvic girdle (sorry, massage therapist coming in…), she’s too thin for me. I like my girls juicier Ches and, I’m a butt girl…he,he. Okay, but she’s a model…I get it…

The outfit does match the chair and co-ordinate with the colors of the hair skirt Mystic. I wonder what the colors are saying about D?
I love how Delia Antwerp-Aaaaars acquires an extra ‘a’ with each post, like she’s collecting them. Or maybe she buys them at auction at Christies.
Anyway, the exhibition is by her friend, conceptual artist, Jesus H. Christ and features a portrait of Brett Whiteley constructed entirely from recycled chewing gum, and a life size sculpture of the Art Gallery of NSW made of uncooked rigatoni.
She actually wore the hair skirt, but Ray Hughes dropped his fag on it and it caught fire. The fire was put out by Jesus H. and his muse Wolfgang Trouser pissing on it, helped by a bottle of Wyndham Estate Merlot emptied on it by socialite Roberta Von Scruff. In the scuffle and mayhem Delia’s shoulder pads almost poked Edmund Capon’s eye out and he was rushed to St Vincents, which specializes in art related injuries. (Lawsuit pending) The ordeal was praised as cutting edge performance art by Clarissa Codsworth at Art Australia magazine the following month and Delia got to show off her pins.

Mystic being ever so en-point, as always, posted pic above & not having seen that shoulderline, even in the 80′s, ran into fashion designer bestie this morn & 1.we laughed I’d posted her knitwear brand http://www.jacandjack.com in comments stream here last night & 2. she looked totally hot in above (not as exagerated) shoulder line. even Mystic would turn fashionista for jac&jack. Perennial, classics for stylish women of all taste, shape & style. Trust me.
Anyways DAA’s desire to be Shelby’d (www.theshelby.com) is a tad to head up own bottom….but then, being smack bang in mon zone of expertise, praps its just too design PC. Its true DAA & La GAGA are bff & fashion sharing. if DAA REALLY wants mega coverage of her (havent check it out yet) interior styling – then she should hire an expert. I did a bit of Delia-ish fashionista out West. It’s normally warmer out there so I didn’t take a warm jacket. It turned all mizzly and cold and I froze my arse off every time I left the house. I don’t need another jacket so I went to Vinnies and found the most fantastic moss green leather jacket for $5. Took it back to AT’s house, hit the lining with dry-cleaning fluid, let it dry then tried it on and found a dollar coin in the pocket. It’s going to be my good luck jacket
I think the green and the coin mean it was kissed (or previously owned) by a Leprechaun!

woohoo Chesh – I love that kind of serendipity! I was just admiring a green leather coat (DLE’s mega-rich Piscean sister had one on when I saw her last week) and lusting over it, slightly. Just slightly… have a bit of a thing for the smell of leather actually. *sigh*

TA I wore the leprechaun jacket to lunch with Sagg gf today. She loves green and her wardrobe has more shades of green than Ireland’s forty. She loved it so much she almost licked it. It’s a winner.

YES! those Farking stupid brooches – always silver – gold would be austentashus (yes I typed that on purpose) – and the bias cut deconstructivist (to hide the effects of too many pastries and chardies not enuff walky) japanesque garments – aka “pieces” darrrrlink. It’s like being surrounded by a bedouin tribe who have just pitched their tents only it’s humans – humans with “taste”.
It’s always intrigued me why the pseudo-arty types wear silver. I assume it’s because they pick them up in galleries selling one-off hand made pieces. With some, it’s jorgen-jensen pewter but never gold.
oh yes, DLE is one of those georg jensen types (key rings/money clips), with his stainless steel IWC watch and prada spectacles. Gold is too flashy, too OBVIOUS (and so trashy!)… minimal and understated is the go – with impecable workmanship and not-to-be-repeated details. Then one can pontificate about the symbolism and the philosphical underpinnings until the alchohol wears off.
hilarious – i collect jorgen jensen (and I am the anonymous above)- because he was the ultimate egalitarian designer of the 60s. He is not george jensens son or anything either so don’t let them blah on at you about the lineage of their “pieces” – but he did work for george briefly and then got egalitarian about things. Hence the pewter.
O and I also wear japanese things – but it’s the loss of form that bothers me about those peeps – the ill fitting deconstructed garb is just a wanky kaftan.

But worry not rlp, this convo is extrememly amusing as an example of lower gem fashion, obsessing over details of jewellery! I speak as a toro sun/virgo asc who couldn’t care less about the deets
they aren’t related – jensen is same as smith or jones in denmark. But as mentioned above, he did work for george jensen before he went off on his merry way making some lovely things and some def of their time not so appealing now things in pewter and with glass and semi precious stones so every wo/man could afford them. The familial link is a myth and handy for those who sell it to unwitting punters.
soz this is anal but I collect it and although there was a son named jorgen the one who made the pewter was not a relation – john smith is to anglos what jorgen jensen is to danes. common as muck – apologies john and jorgens out there reading. There was more than one of george’s sons named jorgen as well!

Oh thank god it’s not just me. Rockstar, I had that problem before, a little sign bobbed up and said that I’d tried to post a duplicate of something I’d already posted. So what? Is that not allowed? I hate mouthy computers. Anyway, in its cold logical way, it was correct. But i still can’t spell or talk, although it’s wearing off.
