Astro-Housewitchery: The Importance Of Being Up Yourself
![]()
With this Up-Yourself Juice & the hypno track below, you can go from being unconfident to completely and gloriously up yourself in just 20 mins. The hypno is downloadable off iTunes & then voomp, straight into your iPod. i Love Glenn Harrold - he is like this spunky Gemini hypnotist who says amazing stuff to you about how you should never take shit etc and in this bovver boy accent…The Dynamis is the only Aussie Bushflower essence that really works for me though i hear that Cognis is awesome.
I think that, even though it sounds totally non politically correct, using the phrase ‘up yourself’ resonates more than the anodyne sounding self-esteem. That’s very 90s and it’s a totally new zeitgeist. Also aiming to be Up Yourself is like an overshoot to ensure that the correct target of confidence is actually reached. Astrologically, self-confidence is in the 2nd house…And your Mars. A healthy Mars is confident & assertive but not insanely competitive nor aggressive. 2nd house is like self-esteem…Finances too. I will do a proper post about it another time…

Oh & this is awesome. I did the Five Card Practical Tarot last night – it’s a very simple spread for when you want fast clarity & don’t want to fuq around with long-winded readings or be lectured by the I-Ching re the conduct of the Superior Man.
Card One is Past Influence, Card Two is Present Influence, Card Three is Major Influence, Card Four is Advice and Card 5 is The Outcome. If you want more clarity you can then add TWO more cards to help “explain” the Outcome card but that is IT. It’s great for questions. Whereas the Celtic Cross spread, I reckon, can’t help but drag in a LOT of stuff & be about long phases of time, as it’s so profound.
So I asked the question ‘did i do the right thing dumping my Aquarian men?’ I mean, the fact that i wandering around singing is a fairly strong indicator but was curious re the Tarot. And I got Judgement, Four Of Swords, Ace of Wands, The Fool and Strength…Yay! And then I got the Seven of Cups & Two of Cups…So fabulous…The only thing i am confused about slightly is Seven Of Cups…Any thoughts? Nothing Neg please…
Seven of Cups, it sometimes suggests someone could be confusing you or taking advantage of your good nature but go with your hunches as it could pay off in a big way! Combined with the Two of Cups it means someone new maybe on the way… Go Mystic out with the old & bring on the new.
I am never particularly wild about cups… My mum always read my tarot and frowned upon them. She was always happier with Wands and Swords.
Seven of cups can represent a lack of commitment, or creating illusions. The cups were a nudging explaination… so maybe there was emotions (cups… so very emotional) but it lacked a realness that you require.
None of this is meant negatively MM. Its nice to have a little glamour… but its also nice to see things how they really are. (ever practical Toro).
7s are about faith and outcomes being delayed or taking longer than you may want or expect. You have a lovely reading there – your decision to retreat will bring a new beginning or initiate new action, following the path of the zelator and overthrowing the old regime in favour of the unproven ground is a storng and profound coice and will empower you although your desired outcome of a balanced and open hearted relationship may take longer than you would like or expect – have faith – it IS OUT THERE and when it arrives it will then all speed up again. Mark time, doggie paddle, the eggs not hot enough to crack open yet. xxx
oh spelling queens will be hitting the panic button right now – soz.
o and the fool – someone’s on the disco biscuits? Likes to mix it up in the astral using substances to get them there? You did the right thing.
Urrrr Saggi in 2nd and MArs is Virgo. I’m trying to get my head around that. The only Saggi I knew was an ex love and he was a w*nker. In the nicest possible way. Does that mean I’m a w*nker? I’m not even touching Mars in Virgo. Too much self-loathing.
Nice quote re: seven cups “This card indicates that though dreaming is beautiful and provides inspiration for action, we must at some point abandon our “castles in the sky” and begin to build those castles in our real life”. Think its just a sign that you are on it Myst.
In my experience seven of cups represents a range of choices, but only one of which is truly authentic, the rest of which are really just glittery baubles with no substance – it’s a neptunian card me thinks. Delusion and illusion that is difficult to see through. With the Strength as your outcome card you tamed your impulses and have taken the higher road – 7 cups and 2 cups explains why. You saw through the lack of authenticity and the two of cups suggests that you are seeking a union of more substance.
As for the other cards:
Judgement – you had a significant realisation/revelation
4 Swords – you’re a bit defensive still and need some time out to process
Ace Wands – You’re influenced by the the desire to create something radically new and different to what you’ve been experiencing. You may be thinking about a new creative project. Go with what feels inspiring.
The Fool – the advice is to engage in life as a child, trusting and courageous. However there is also the warning to think things through as there is a tendency with this card to be overly naive and ending up feeling a bit foolish.
Prowlincat, thank you, I enjoyed reading your interpretation of Mystic’s cards. Very well written & it makes me curious to find out more about Tarot. Hope you are going OK.
thanks nat, been reading them since I was 15 and always found them to be interesting and insightful when used to good purpose … i.e trying to predict the future is not good purpose since the future is not set and is influenced by the choices we make. I’ve found the cards a useful intuitive focus tool that helps clarify situations in order to make better choices.
All those choices card. Maybe complete pulling back from all that is these Aqua’s maybe needed? A bit of peace and quiet to sit with it all & let the answer flow through.
Another meaning of the seven of cups in the Rider Waite possibly look under the surface. If you look closely at the cups with the ‘goodies’ contained they may have a more sinister shadow on the cup itself (ie skull, bomb). What appears to be most appealing on the surface my not always be the wisest choice.
ps I am on my L-plates when it comes to tarot & astrology.
i dont have my tarot things in front of me (nooo its spreadsheets instead) but i think (…) my tarot interp book, of variable usefulness, for 7 cups is – new ideas, not yet formed, daydreaming about possibilities, next steps. well that’s what popped into my head, hope it’s not the 6 cups i’m thinking of.
uncertain pisces.
because the last two cards are to explain the outcome card which in your case is Strength and all cards influence the surrounding cards, these cups are a backup of the Strength card. Because Strength represents female strength and a “good” card, my interp is “follow your bliss” 7 of cups in the good meaning is hopes wishes and dreams (it only means illusion and delusion if surrounded by bad cards) and with 2 of cups meaning love shared it all means that the more you exhibit your powerful but gentle female self-respect the more you’ll be loved and love back.
Ace of wands is the most powerful indicator of sexual energy! Major influence? Please be very cautious with rugger turd
Ok, starting from the beginning….circumstances leading to making your decision; taking time out/resting; brave new beginning; advice- fool – step bravely/blindly forward into your future with gusto (I don’t think the fools’ other interpretation of being wary of the future is applicable in this reading); and strength – self-explanatory… I think the 7 of cups is you being still slightly unsure of your decision (hence blogging about and pulling out your tarot etc) but the 2 of cups means lovely new emotional beginnings. So, Mystic, I would say trust you have made a brave wonderful choice and that it will only bring you blessings!
Myst, if you really have strong feelings for the rugger whatever, hold out on him till or unless he recognises his stupidity and conceit. Many times a good woman has made a man out of a stupid bloke. These footy blokes have sunshine blown up their proverbials by all and sundry and come to believe it. If there’s any decency left in him, he’ll see the rejection as a learning curve and examine his own behaviour.
ok,
ive got a book on this subject – not on tarot but on card symbolism
ok its says that… and i quote ” The Seven of Clubs, represents Spiritual knowledge or information. Seven being the Number of Neptune (Spiritual) and Clubs, the Element of Air (knowledge or information).”
which fits right in with the occult and astrology! so you are suited to your occupation as far as my card reading skills go!
Wow. That’s weird. I’d never even heard of Glenn Harrold before a couple of days ago when my boyfriend brought a cd of his home from our local public library. Unleash your true potential and Live your life to the full.
I just put them on my ipod this morning and here he is again! My last week has been full of in-your-face type signs and happenings, so I’m going to take accept that this is probably another one of those times and go have a listen…
Keen to hear the future post on up-oneselfness. I have Mars conjunct Jupiter in Aries in the 2nd. Looks like I should be grateful for the constricting affects of Saturn square…
Yay for the decision-affirming tarot cards. My tarot knowledge is minimal but perhaps 7Cups indicates a degree of emotional uncertainty/instability to do with your faith in the positive outcome? Believe!
Seven of Cups can be interpretated as ‘disillusionment’, as in you were disuillusioned with your Aquarian lovers as they were offering something but not following through. As the reading was about dumping them, and with all those other fabulous supporting cards in the reading, I would interprate this as the end of disullusionment! Upwards and onwards with CLARITY!
Maybe the 7 of cups means you should carry that vibe of emotional warmth and dreams to pin your soul on, into the future with the new men
to come. Yes? Important spiritual component enters here; maybe something left to you by the Aquarians. (C’mon we Aquarians can be
spiritual, just in private.)
Prowincat is on the money…….in my humble opinion.
Excellent reading.
