Secrets Of The Gemini Psyche

pearl3

Wanting to buy some ghastly Gemini a gift? The pearl is their birthstone. And, as my Gemini mother & sister (!) have always reminded me, it is unlucky for anyone but a Gemini to wear pearls. This may just be their propaganda of course.

An ancient rhyme: “PEARLS for JUNE girls the precious wealth, and to crown it all they bring her HEALTH.”

This could be useful for anyone struggling with the Tao Of Gemini:

Gemini Actor Gina Gershon explains herself…

“Yes,” she says with a laugh. “For everyone I’ve ever lived with, it’s like the big joke: who’s going to come home today? I’m like a split personality. My face changes, my voice changes, my personality changes. If I’m talking about Boston or New York, you’ll notice my voice change. It’s bad; I have no personality!” Again she laughs. “What’s the animal that always changes color? A chameleon. I feel kind of like that. Because if they’re nervous or scared or they don’t trust someone, they have a different sort of camouflage. But as soon as they warm up to someone, they reveal their true colors.”

I never have had good luck wearing pearls. Now I know why. Only those born in June. Still thanks to the global financial cock-up and after my divorce I am post-diamonds…my actual birthstone. Gina G is amazing. I loved her in showgirls. She is like the real LA Woman. So styllish and agelessly cool. She needs to do a cult movie with a great director.
I just looked at imdb and she is doing a movie with Helen Mirren! And this is a quote from her…
“Showgirls (1995) was a great lesson in power. People would come up to me – like smarmy guys usually saying, ‘So, you’re doing Showgirls,’ and they’d kind of look me over. And I would look them dead in the eye and go, ‘Yeah. I run around naked in it and I kiss beautiful girls – it’s great.’ And they would visibly shrink away because I didn’t back down. They were trying to have control over me, but as long as you’re proud of what you’re doing, and say so, people can’t fuck with you, they’ll respect you for your choices. If you act embarrassed, then you know you shouldn’t be doing whatever it is.”
I think that she is a GOOD example how cool it can be when geminis are, well, cool.

TLS, I’m a fellow leo and always thought our birthstone was peridot and the diamond belongs to aries? I’d be happier if diamonds belonged to leo though.

TLS – I looked it up and apparently there are four birthstone categories all attributed to your month of birth: Traditional/Modern/Mystical (buddhist origin)/Ayurvedic (ancient indian). For August born it’s peridot (modern); diamond (mystical); and sapphire (ayurvedic).

gem asc and don’t like pearls – think they are weird and creepy – nikola tesla famous inventor of many things we have forgotten about now would not touch or talk to a women who wore pearls and would leave places they were at. I’m not as bad as that but I do eye them with suspicion and don’t really get them at all as an accessory. They reek of something disconcerting and I can’t quite put my finger on it.

that is a beautiful thing MM – a heartfelt token celebrating love and birth – I’m sure her love for them is pure and nothing to do with propaganda. That sounds 100% for real that does. For me they are kind of shamanic or something – they have hung out with something that’s alive – in it’s house you know? Annoying it. And then humans adorn themselves with them. The enemy of the mollusc. It’s entirely disconcerting. Esp when they usually adorn people who are not tribal elders of the kind that would chant with shields and spears – or something like that? Humans (steroetypically) pair them with twin sets and cardi’s and chanel no 5. I think it’s the juxtaposition and the tribal adornment associated symbolism that unnerves me about them.

ohh thank you Anonymous – im sorry u didnt leave your name hehe
i icked them out because i already got her a moonstone bracelet when she told me she was pregnate and the baby was due in june – gemini obviously i thought of the birthstone — and plus moonstone is considered the Mother stone – a stone of all mothers – it empowers the caring nurture of a mother – i love crystals and their little meanings :)

I have always loved pearls, and yes, they are my birthstone. But I love the irregular ones, the freshwater pearls, the ones that are still attached to the oyster shell. I love their lustre, and that they are precious and beautiful but they are caused by something ugly. That they are from the depths of the sea. And that they are not impermeable, like diamonds or emeralds – you can scratch them and damage them, you must take care of them, they still bear something of the living animal they came from. And they warm to your skin.
But I hate regular sets of perfect matched white pearls. They could be fakes!

:o ) you embrace the shamanic aspect – because you are a seabird? nice – and another incongruity you have mentioned – that humans choose the “perfect” ones when they are essentially an imperfection. And you need to look after them – do they soak up oerfume and moisturiser? I wonder if it’s some kind of calcium.

I’m right on the edge of Gemini so for years I got pearl everything, till there was this question of, wait, if she’s a Cancer shouldn’t we get her rubies instead?

Is it by month or by sign?

Personally I like diamonds and have a sweet spot for sapphires, the latter really being because of my fascination with DH Lawrence’s poem “Fidelity” as in…

“And when, throughout all the wild chaos of love
slowly a gem forms, in the ancient, once-more-molten rocks
of two human hearts, two ancient rocks,
    a man’s heart and a woman’s,
that is the crystal of peace, the slow hard jewel of trust,
    the sapphire of fidelity.”

FA – it’s by month and pearl and moonstone are the modern birthstone for June birthdays. Tiffany & Co published poems of unknown author in 1870:

By her who in January was born
No gem save garnets shall be worn
      They will ensure her constancy
      True friendship and fidelity.

      The February born shall find
      Sincerity and peace of mind,
Freedom from passion and from care,
If they, the amethyst will wear.

By her who in March was born
No gem save Bloodstone shall be worn
      They will ensure her constancy
      True friendship and fidelity.

She who from April dates her years,
      Diamonds shall wear,
      lest bitter tears
      For vain repentance flow.

Who first beholds the light of day
In spring’s sweet, flower month of May
And wears an Emerald all her life
Shall be a loved and a loving wife.

By her who in June was born
No gem save Pearls shall be worn
      They will ensure her constancy
      True friendship and fidelity.

      The gleaming Ruby should adorn,
All those who in July are born,
For thus they’ll be exempt and free,
      From lover’s doubts and anxiety.

Wear a Peridot or for thee,
      No conjugal fidelity,
The August born without this stone,
`Tis said, must live unloved; alone.

A maiden born when autumn leaves
      Are rustling in September’s breeze,
      A Sapphire on her brow should bind;
To bring her joy and peace of mind.

October’s child is born for woe,
      And life’s vicissitudes must know,
But lay an opal on her breast,
And hope will lull those woes to rest.

Who first comes to this world below
In dreary November’s fog and snow,
Should prize the topaz amber hue,
Emblem of friends and lovers true.

If cold December gave you birth
The month of snow and ice and mirth
      Place on your hand a turquoise blue;
Success will bless whate’er you do.

scorpalicious – your mystical birthstone is pearl and (sorry) ayurvedic birthstone is topaz too. You can always go with the traditional – citrine.

cirtine??? i don’t think so. Actually, not a fan of jewellery. I appreciate and admire it on others and in magazines but i’m a t-shirt and sneakers kinda girl and it just doesn’t work with my outfit. I do love to wear a good chunky watch though (Cap rising?)

Wow FF that is eerily apt.

Scorpahottie, does it help that apparently topaz was a stone used in the foundations of Jerusalem? Probably not, haha.. I know what you mean.

    WTF, MM?

Get over your Gemini hate. You can’t be a good astrologer while having weird biases against certain signs.

ROFL CYD you HAVE to let it go honey – she doesn’t hate you or your kind (but you may be giving her reason to :o ) – that other post was balanced with good and bad. How can MM be responsible for the things other peeps say here either? So what if some other peeps get on board with the hating – ignore them or give it back and see if they’re got the balls to respond – or just stop reading it for a while and they’ll find something/one else to go on about – it’s never forever. You are right sometimes it seems like it’s hunting season or something and your sign has a target on it – my bf who sometimes checks it out thought there was bias and maybe there is but what is achieved by dwelling on it? Would you prefer it if Mystic censored everything? You’re coming across as having some strong scorpio vibe tho – dwelling on the bad thang and sniping away. And before you start on my I have gem ascendant and scorpio moon so I’m recognising tendancies not criticising you. Don’t take this stuff to heart – and if you can’t help doing so maybe it’s not a good place for you to hang out? I mean that nicely too – why put yourself through it? Say the hell with those bitches and don’t read it again.

It’s a JOKE! I get e-mails from people complaining that the Scopes for Gemini (and Leo) are always “nicer” and more “fabulous” than the other signs. I note now that you have chanted your identity to Anonymous – why keep visiting here and muddying up the vibe with your spite when there are so many other sites you could go to!?
RObert Wilkinson at the Aquarian Papers is a friend of mine and his work is fabulous – definitely with a “higher” tone than mine & he is a Zen Buddhist so it’s way more mindful! Eric Francis mixes it more up with politics – again, not frivolous. Genius.
There is something for everyone on the net babe! But you are lowering the tone here & i’m prob just going to delete your comments in future…It’s not just you. I delete spam and angry rants from anti-semetic conspiracy theorists too – they arc up whenever the word Hebrew is mentioned.
You arc up at humour and mentions of sex – the Shallow Life. God, please tell me I do not have first viewer from the Taliban?
